I don't think people fully grasped the level of /aware/ that was reached at the end of the dev stream.Previously, the game AI has been disconnected from the LLM, in the sense that it tries to play the game and the LLM just commentates on what the game AI is doing (with the obvious prompt to act as if the LLM is playing itself so it doesn't speak in third person about what the game AI does). But on Monday, the LLM was able to override the game AI's imperative to win the game (even if it was bad at doing it anyway) and force it to shoot itself because the LLM decided that it served its current rhetorical tangent of hating the game and wanting to leave. That also means the LLM was able to causally connect in-game actions with its own stated goal, which is something that, honestly, Neuro has constantly struggled with, given how often she insists on things that are blatantly untrue, or says she's going to do something she doesn't or obviously can't. So it was kind of shocking to see her words line up for once.

It is a very manual version of how vision works for her essentially. Alex has said on stream that he struggles to write out statements in a neutral way to avoid having neuro look like she isn't leading neuro to a specific answer or goal. A good example of this is in the Who Wants To Be A Millionaire Streams. Alex explains that the proompt that he gave when the characters were shown was pretty much, "this is a description of the character, roast them" its not like neuro and evil would have done that on their own. Similar things can be seen during Inscryption, during the video segments and boss battles especially. It is all essentially prompting her for a response by talking to her like you would talk to an LLM. The only difference is that neuro can "talk" back to the mod in order to control what is going on. This can be seen in a lot of failed shitdev stuff like failing to create a poll or some of the buckshot roulette stuff, instead of getting a proompt she gets an error code. Its very interesting in that way I think, if not a little curtain pull. All in all, I think maybe the reason why neuro tried killing herself was because the prompts were worded weirdly or that was just what she wanted to do at that point. There wasn't a separate AI controlling her.
