Hell no. 3 might have the dogshit angels but every other enemy is great and pushes you to use all your tools. DMC1, due to how primitive is, has good enemies for them. In a vacuum you are dealing with all of them roughly the same way, while in 3 you are using all the toys in different ways.
4 has the issue of all the enemies being designed for Nero (where they feel great) but then you switch to Dante and it genuinely becomes a chore to fight them

its not that they are useless, its that they are extremely fucking loopsided to the point it feels deliberate.
Swordmaster 1-2 gives you most if not almost all of the moves, with 3 being almost useless outside of edge cases
Trickster gives you dash, which is good, and nothing else until 3 where you get trick.
Gunslinger 1-2 is genuinely useless for some weapons and then in 2-3 you get all the good stuff all at once with one level giving you nothing again. Coyote stinger, Acid Rain, Histerics,etc are all great moves that you have to spend grinding compared to other styles giving you a more even spread of stuff.

Im not saying the system is without faults, but id rather use coyote stinger in 3 than the version of 5 which has no use because you can just use trick, stinger or cavalier

Style switching is great for combo MAD tards like me. Sometimes you wish the enemy doesn't die quick enough and you get to juggle him in the air for 20 seconds straight. This is why the Sloth is my favorite enemy on the switch version of DMC3. Few feelings more orgasmic than rhythmically timing JCs into your flowchart

Well yes it is. Move balance aside, being able to access any move at any time is just gonna default you to using "the good one" most of the time unless you want to do combo videos in which case you dont care about how the moves feel and just how they look/connect. 4 also had that issue, and is even more evident there where people skip on using half the moveset (pandora and Lucifer for example) because why would you unless you really want to....which i get it. Its why i said I dont like style switching.
I can recognize people like the swordguntricksword version of dante but for me he feels weaker since most of his moves became "do X to bridge into Y for your combo video".
Its why Cavaliere is the best DMC5 weapon since its the one that actually has moves with a lot of impact
