Yeah I know it's a huge bother. OP, you can search for specific size pictures on google in image search. For example, if I wanted to search for Kate Beckinsale 4k or 1440p UW pics, I could do the following:

Kate Beckinsale imagesize:4096x2160
Kate Beckinsale imagesize:3840x2160
Kate Beckinsale imagesize:3440x1440

But be prepared, there's a literal fraction of a fraction of as many screens for ultra wide as there are for 1080p or 4k. So what I do is I search for 4k as above, and then just crop them in paint. Still a fucking bother, but at least that way you get semi nice UW screens.

Out of curiosity, what happens if you try to set a 16:9 pape as your background? Does it fill in the whole screen but get stretched/look like shit? Or will it get set normally but have black bars on the sides? I am looking to get a 16:10 display, which is why I ask.
>>
>>7805065
mostly depends on the position option you choose when applying a 16:9 pape as the background to a 16:10 screen

for example, a HD1080 pape (1920x1080) might end up with either slightly vertically stretched (not ideal), or with black bars top and bottom (also not great), or slightly cropped on the left/right sides (marginally better than the other two options) when applied to a WUXGA screen (1920x1200) depending on whether you chose to stretch, fit, or fill the pape to the screen
>>
>>7805466
Nice dubs. So, the way I understand it, windows (or linux) lets you choose between the three options in the settings. Would the same options apply to a WQXGA 2560 x 1600 screen? Would an HD1080 pape look worse on the screen just because it is a lower resolution than the panel as well as being stretched, or would the pape be upscaled before being applied automatically? Also, is there any way to filter specifically 16:10 papes on various sites, or is the method of specifying resolution when using google images the way to go?
>>
>>7784092
The first one used to be on the store page for the BMM (before the reconcept)

You might want to check the Jump Point magazine for extra info/jpegs and if you ask around on spectrum they'd probably link you the stuff in the sub vault too

Most decent wallpaper sites usually have some form of resolution option for you to select from, whether it's a drop down list, or a wall of buttons, and they'll usually cater to most/all of the common sizes of screen, so finding WQXGA papes shouldn't be too hard.

And of course you can also search for papes in your screen resolution in google (other much better search engines are also available) just by entering the resolution.

As for using an HD1080 pape on a WQXGA screen, the results would actually be the same as for a WUXGA screen, where, depending on the chosen option, the image would either fit the width perfectly but would stretch vertically, or you'd get black letterbox bars top and bottom, or the image would fit the screen height but crop the left/right sides.

And no, in terms of 'upscaling' generally an OS will just do what it's told and fit the image to the screen in the way you tell it to without doing any fancy processing to maintain image quality, so, depending on the image, the bigger the difference between pape resolution and screen resolution then potentially the worse the image quality, and more importantly how noticeable that degredation is, will be, but this applies whether the pape and screen are the same aspect ratio or are different.

If you right click on the desktop and click on personalize, then go to choose fit, either fill or span, it will basically crop any picture to fit the screen without stretching it.
Some pictures work better than others though since it centers the picture and might cut off some of the top/ bottom or left/right parts.

sorry to say but this house is ugly and visually frustrating. sure it looks clean but it just aggravates me, i would not willingly live there. that house looks barren, drab and depressing and its very bland :/ the garden in the last image looks unbelievably high maintenance. it looks like whoever lives there would freak out if a leaf fell into the garden. it seems like where this guy would live. like this would be the living room of the house.

>I'm looking to buy an ultrawide, is it an wise investment or should i go with a dual monitor setup?

Mostly depends on how much physical desk/workstation space you have, and what your budget is like.

Depending on screen size/resolution, dual 16:9 monitors could work out a bit cheaper, but arranged side-by-side in the usual way they could take up a bit more desk space than a single 21:9 ultrawide monitor would.

its much nicer to work on an ultrawide over a dual screen setup, I kept my old monitor as a secondary screen and its usually delegated to slack/messaging when im doing coding job or trading, otherwise for graphic design stuff and everyday use its always turned off with the UW big enough to have everything on-screen
