Lets pretend last try never happened edition.

>What are startpages?
Startpages (in the context of this thread) are locally hosted webpages (as in, the files are on your computer - not a server somewhere) that serve as the homepage or new tab page for a browser. They generally contain some number of links to frequently visited sites as the main element; search bars, clocks, calendars and other embedded items are usually added as secondary elements.

>What browser are you using?
If you can't tell what browser it is, it's probably Firefox, you can theme Firefox using Stylish and finding themes on the Firefox tag of Userstyles.
Otherwise if you won't upgrade there's always Chrome, you can ~slightly~ customize it using Chrome Theme Maker. Seems like Vivaldi added custom CSS on its "experimental features" tab.

Are we still meant to be using stylish? is there a better alt?

Anyone know how to fix the "Failed to read configuration file" error when trying to change the new tab page in Fixfox? I followed the /stpg/.tk guide
>>
>>7801767
Depends on your page. I've moved to Dark Reader and the 4chanX CSS option, in example.

Hi.
Could someone lend me a hand with my userChrome.css for Firefox?
I want to make the close tab button smaller, and the actual X icon bigger, but I've no idea how to do it.
Pic related is how it currently looks on my end.

I tried something like https://hastebin.com/isuciziror.css because I also wanted the button to only show up on hover, but their size didn't change at all.
I'm guessing that either I miswrote it, or one of the other snippets of code I'm using is getting in the way.
How does it look?

make sure you have toolkit.legacyUserProfileCustomizations.stylesheets set to true in about:config.
Then make sure you have the correct profile selected in about:profiles
Then restart firefox, see if this helps
>>
>>7802831
I wouldn't be able to use my userChrome.css at all if I didn't already do all those things.
Thanks though.

firefox broke my page by making it super fucking slow now due to the fade in and blurring
oh well, i planned on making a new page anyways

also these captchas suck ass
>>
>>7801612
I already asked in the thread that we pretend didn't happen. But who's maintaining http://startpages.github.io/ ?
I think some of the links are dead
>>
>>7804053
Yes hello it me. Some of the submissions have been removed by the author or their own githubs are gone. I'm going to go through each page and remove dead ones.

(What the fuck is this captcha and how long have I been gone)
>>
>>7804167
nice thank's a lot.
>captcha
It's been here about 2-3 weeks I think. Once you get used to it it's a lot better than the old one imo, especially since I'm pretty sure 4chanX can solve the slider in 9/10 cases, so you just have to tab over and type it in, no need to reach for the mouse
>>
>>7804167
I get the purpose of keeping bots out, but fucken hell either I'm a robot or they're tryna keep humans out too
>>
>>7804167
I like this captcha more, it doesn't involve google, neither massive scripts, and firefox won't block it on strict settings.
I'm just waiting on 4chanX making a way to resolve them bulk so we can dump again.

I've just recently got into startpages after ditching opera for firefox, however I'm running into some problems. Setting up my homepage as a local file is working fine however I can't do the same for my new tab page. I tried new tab override extension but it only accepts a single html file. How do you guys change your new tab page?

Weather can be fun, used this page as the basis (basically to steal the weather api) https://github.com/Jaredk3nt/homepage, paired with https://websygen.github.io/owfont/ for icons.

A clock along with with semi-randomised morning/evening/night/go-the-fuck-to-sleep messages

Also made a script to redirect pixiv filenames to artist page. Sure, it slightly recreates the 4chanX functionality, but hey, maybe I wanna find out who made 64208125_p0.png that lives on my hard drive and find more cool stuff.

>>
>>7811997
What browser are you using? If you're using Firefox, extensions cannot load CSS or JS so all of your styling must be inside the HTML file itself.
>>
For everyone asking for OP's source, try previous thread since OP takes random screens from the last thread to the new up to its taste.

I use Librewolf and after updating, new tabs open blank pages for some reason instead of my html file.
Does anyone know how to fix this?
Can't find any info in th .cfg file and because Librewolf is not a popular browser, there's not too much about this issue out there.

Another way is using live debugging tho. In a short way, you enable remote debugging, then you enable firefox debugging or something like that.
I found that in the FirefoxCSS reddit.

>>7805794
hey anon I like the minimalism. think you could post the source somewhere?

Just to let whoever is maintaining stpg.tk know, I can confirm the script for Firefox works on Arch linux
