It was based off of the Central-46 HQ from Bleach.
There's a ton of environments in the Soul Society arc that have the liminal spaces look.

It's such a simple picture. But man, It is nostalgic. Literally the moment I looked at it I could feel that heat of the sun and the breeze just strong enough to not not make the heat something I didn't want to be out in. It was just a second, but I could feel it.

I found something really similar in Michigan I think, but the color scheme was wrong. Using red instead of blue.
For the record, I'm the anon that found >>7812073
I didn't look very hard for the theater though. Or maybe I found it, I just didn't see any interiors.

I think your best bet to find it is to do what I did, and look for the party room that's in the photo. Like trying to find a place online where you could rent it. I think that in conjunction with Cinema 10, might be enough of a lead to find it if you're dedicated.
For what it's worth, the movie posters are all films that released this month, or are coming soon, so the photo itself is pretty recent. Which means that the theater should still be in business, and they'll have a website somewhere and show up on Google maps as a destination.

There's not really a lot more to go off than that. Guarantee the theater is in a shitty state on the outside, and it's in an area with an abandoned strip-mall or K-Mart.

Fuck, guess I did find it. I know it's gonna sound like an asspull, but that was the first one I came across. It was definitely promising, but I couldn't be sure without interior shots, and the ones I saw on the Google Maps results from the interior wasn't enough to go by. I found another theater that looked to be the one, but as mentioned before, the color schemes is what really threw me off. Using red instead of blue.

Digging a little deeper, it looks like they're the same cinema. Just under new management I think. Which explains the change in interior.
Mainly, I just didn't want to say "this is the one" without any concrete proof.

It certainly can, because what's the difference if you stay after hours in a school/uni or visit one that's been not used for 10 years?
It's the eerie mood that counts.
A point could made that most abandoned porn is liminal in an one or another(human space becomes nature etc) way.

>A point could made that most abandoned porn is liminal in an one or another
No. It can't.
Abandoned shit is not the same as liminal.
Liminal implies there SHOULD BE people there normally, but there aren't.
There shouldn't be people in an abandoned building.

Liminal isn't the feeling of "I shouldn't be here", it's the feeling of "why aren't there people here?"
>>
>>7819460
Anon, need I remind you that shit is not very aesthetic?
>>
>>7820183
Dude, liminal just means transient/threshold, it's a pretty broad category not just eerie, after hours places.

Ah ye olde faggot analogy
But seriously though that usage got popular in the last few years tops, why would OP even need to specify it otherwise?
Also what difference is there between a school that people left hours ago Vs years ago? If it's not decrepit then the atmosphere will make or break the liminal feel.
>>

>Growing up in the deserts of Southern California and Arizona, I can attest to the power of these places to warp time and space.

Yes... the shots of gas stations in the desert as the sunsets is so fucking amazing. If I ever make my short film, I will make an excuse to shoot a scene out in the middle of nowhere.

I had such an autistic obsession with liminal spaces before it became a thing. The game FEAR made my obsession even stronger. I worked as a security guard at a Chinese business a mile from my house. They would close and hand me the keys, walked around and nothing ever happened. It had a nice dragon fountain at the front and very dim colored lights. It was very calming, but I was paid min. wage and I realized I couldn't work there forever. It was my favorite job unironically.
