>>7886264with the cost of power all I can think about is wanting to turn most off this off more unsettling than comfy
>>7885958>>7885957>>7885956>>7885954These stress me out. Sure they're nice-looking during the day, but then you're surrounded by see-through walls at night. Sure it's assumed that these locations are secluded, but I would never feel comfortable knowing anyone could just see into my bedroom at nighttime.>>7886264If you turn off the computer, it probably wouldn't be drawing too much power. Those white christmas lights are probably LEDs. Not sure about the ones near the fishtank though.
>>7886264>Christmas / Fairy lights hung up around the roomI've dated and known too many women that do that and I don't understand why. They never look good as they are always tossed around.
>>7886684Damn, that looks comfy.
bump
>>7886695as a man with a brain I wouldn't just toss them around and call it a day, I'd route them properly with aesthetic and practicality in mind. that being said, there are better and less gay ways to light a room without using those, or even worse, overhead lighting.
>>7886695i feel the same way about dudes and shitty RGB all over everything. fairy lights are nice when used right. They add a touch of whimsy to a nature/foresty setup. they're called fairy lights for a reason.Rgb always looks bad. It's the preferred look of immature try hard GAMERZ.
>>7886567Remember that time LED lighting was invented? You could leave all that shit on full time for probably 20$ a year.
>>7888145>>7888146>>7888148Holy fuck, is this your place? It looks amazingThe single thing I dislike about it is the PC chair, for me it really had to be one with a high back and wheels
>>7888157LEDs would be extremely crappy for that purpose, low CRI and all
>>7888174Thank you! I had a good office chair and the cat kept peeing on it. I'm working on getting a new one. I think these turned out ok but I wish I knew more about photo lighting and settings and stuff.
>>7886264Looks cosy but remember you got to dust off all that shit once a month (unless you're some kind of subhuman who doesn't clean his/her room)
>>7888322Those are some really good pictures, personally I'd up the white balance just a slight little bit, but they look good even like thatI like that last one, it really shows the room as a whole, while the others are showcases of certain parts
My room XD Thoughts?
>>7888857nice
>>7885728This might just be my autism talking but I don't think I could live in an A-frame house. Having angled walls would bother me.

>>7890644Thanks, and likewise that's a badass desk setup. It looks custom built in.
My dear wife died a few months ago. I've been doing my best to make the house comfy for the kids and I. I've got some speakers and an amp coming in soon and then the music/reading room will be done. Working on the kids room and other parts of the house too. It helps me get through the day and seeing the kids happy is all I care about at this point.
>>7888107LARRY!
>>7891250godspeed anon
>>7886567most of the stuff you have at home, especially lighting, uses minimal powerit's just noticeable, so people whine about leaving the light on, even though it uses costs nothingmeanwhile the real power sinks in industry and the like are conveniently ignored
>>7891250you did good frenm sure she is proud of you
This one's a scene in a movie I think. Idk what it is.

>>7891484Thanks, it's interesting how we cope with tremendous loss. I'm not emotional at all, never cry...but losing her broke through my threshold of emotion in a way I never expected. I cry every day and it's been months since she left us. She loved Christ so I know we'll be together again...my pain is more due to the temporal loss. We're relatively young...I'm a widower and in my mid 40's LOL. That shouldn't happen but the Lord giveth and He taketh away. So be it. I don't care about much anymore, not material things. Just gotta finish the race for my kids. That's what she would expect so I will get it done. She would also be proud that I got fired from my stupid fagman job for not getting the jab. I wish she could have lived to see that. My old girl was based, more based than me, haha! What a loss....
>>7891606Well said, God bless you anon.
>>7891606So your wife died of covid didn't she?Dumbshit.
>>7891543good movie

>>7891606As Peter Pan said, “to die would be an awfully big adventure,” and when the small one here ends, the big one begins. For those of us in Christ, the great and beautiful truth, though hard to fully grasp, is this: death is not a destination, but a threshold, and the world beyond is not some final resting place in the sky. It's the beginning of the new everything. But you already know this. Here's to your wife. She took an early flight. Got there before the party. She's helping to set things up.
>>7894009Where the hell do I find a house like this Anon?
>>7895276you make it.spend less time on 4chins and more time living, find something you are good at and makes decent money, buy house, fill it with sentimental knickknacks from your adventures.
>>7892789I suspect they chose that position so it wouldn't block the window view. To be fair a flat screen TV would spoil that view.

>>7897922Badass, great job reaching your skill level! What genre do you write? I would never want to insult a professional by asking them to inadvertently dox themselves on 4chan, but would be cool to knowAlso, regarding this attached pic, is this a poster or wallpaper of books, or is there some weird camera angle going on?
>>7891250It looks extremely comfy and just lived-in. My favorite kind of comfy, you did an amazing job and I am so sorry for your loss.
>>7897932I write mystery. Thanks for asking. The picture you shared is of an old carved arch featuring free form avian motifs. It's actually from an old 19th century high end Chinese restaurant. It was originally an entire arch that was in the entrance to the restaurant. You would have walked through it when entering to dine. The arch fell and was damaged but the top mantle portion was undamaged. I sold it to a wealthy Chinese businessman and friend I met during my travels. I loved that piece but it belonged back home. Here's where the mysteries are written.
>>7898117Oh awesome. Where was the restaurant located? Did it have the same fame as those NYC restaurants did back in the day? Trying to remember the name of the one I'm thinking of, but only the Drake Hotel is coming to mind. This is such a badass desk and collection! Do you speak mandarin or any of the other Chinese flavors? If you do, ever hear of Heisig Method for learning simplified or traditional characters? I'm in the 2nd year of it. Spent a year learning how to do English->character, and now finishing up the last third of Character->Pinyin. Fun stuff, but the study is no joke. Shoutout to all the Anki bros who may read this someday. What's in the miniature cabinet to the left of your monitor and rhinosaurus beetle friend?
>>7898138That's a secret formed when I met a certain trader at a Singapore hawker center. Travel tip to the mandarin learner: always go for the stalls with the B- or C+ rating. The best comes from those too busy to clean.
