Post your wallpapers based on cool old/vintage stuff (1970's-2000's)
This one fits that vibe I'd say.
Nice thread, definite bump.

>>7913209this is so sick, where's it from?
>>7915146>>7913209This is from Excel, believe it or not. In Excel 97, if you navigated to a specific cell and entered something specific, I don't know the exact details any more, it would start a very rudimentary 3D flight simulator. The image is from that. MS Office had a few of those easter eggs back in the time.https://www.techrepublic.com/pictures/look-back-at-microsoft-excel-easter-eggs/

>>7915737!! anon I remember doing this in like 7th grade at school. thanks for some comfy memories.
>>7916201You're welcome, anon. Same here, tried a lot of those things on the library computer in school.I'm sad to see that Microsoft lost its playfulness over the last 10-20 years.
Not vintage per se but inspired by vintage tech

>>7963015Correct. Spent many, many hours of working on it immediately after getting home from my 10 hour shift at a call center. I still find it popping up in random places or other media from time to time. It's a real awesome feeling
>>7961234Thank you!
>>7964252Know that your efforts are still appreciated, it was a great thread
>>7959719>>7964722I still have them all on my laptop.https://mega.nz/folder/xHsFTRxI#goLi7CS3vJSHQGdJdO21aQhttps://archive.org/details/vhs-wallpapers-master
>>7964722And to think it was my first thread. A legacy I'll never be able to repeat. I do think from time to time about making more but I have a lot on my plate keeping me busy.>>7964841And I still have them up online! It's a good thing I made a website for it. And by website I mean a blogger page because that was the fastest thing I could think of before that thread went to the void. I do want to make a legitimate website at some time in the future, but for now I have this jank looking thing. https://vhswallpapers.blogspot.com If you or someone you know made the archive.org page for it the only thing I ask is to add a link back to the project's site. Silly requirement, but it allows people to get access to every possible option of zip folder, directory and even trimmed back illustrator files with a list of all the fonts used and documented. Of course some of that is in a thank you note inside the zip files but who reads those? And since you brought up a Mega folder with the project I took a gander at some of the VHS box size versions for no reason other than to see if they still looked as good as I remembered and realized there are a few with some issues including white borders or misaligned assets. Add that to my list of stuff I need to do.Once again, thank you for continuing to enjoy it! It really does mean a lot.
>>7964841>https://mega.nz/folder/xHsFTRxI#goLi7CS3vJSHQGdJdO21aQThis is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen on this website, anon

>>7975079What fucking clown blew out the saturation and contrast on this?
>>7975148the clown who posted it. he always does this, in every thread, never adhering to the topic either. i've only been browsing /wg/ recently, so I have no clue what his motivations are, or if he's a bot. i just ignore it by this point.
>>7975149most likely a bot
>>7975149>never adhering to the topicthat's not strictly true, sometimes the bot actually does, albeit randomly, nail a threads topic pretty well - there's a few examples of this in the last day or so in fact; it's just that most of the time the bots posts are so far off topic that when it does eventually get one even vaguely right people tend not to notice or say anything
>>7974142I'm a motion designer and his stuff always amazes me. I love how easy it is to enjoy his videos, but once you start do dissect the technical details of how he did certain things, I can rarely find any flaws. Idk who he is/they are, but it's one underrated channel for sure.
