Vintage art from classic franchises, video games, movies, etc
Thats my lot, its a bit of a hodge podge but hopefully everyone finds something in it they like.
All of them are soo good, thx for the upload OP
There is a few more to keep the thread going, some made just today. Glad to see someone likes the edits I made. If anyones got some images like these they would like scaled up, filtered, or small images centered go ahead and post them and I will do em up like the others here and post them when I get another round of images ready. Im gonna post some AI generated fantasy images here when I get enough together.
great photos you guys sorry if i cant contribute anything
>>7961916Its just me in here, thanks for the comment though. I edited/filtered a bunch of these to make them suitable for desktop use, as many were too low res so its nice to hear people like the way they look.
>>7962001?
>>7961571holy shit bro you just made my day
>>7961541>>7961542>>7961543Are these the same artist? If so, who because its dope as fuck.
>>7962277The first is by the artist Angus Mcbride, done for Middle-Earth Quest: A Spy In Isengard, a role playing gamebook from 1988.The second is a painting by artist Don Maitz, which you can find for sale here(https://www.paravia.com/StudioShop/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=230).The last is card art for the MTG card Mystic Teachings, done by artist Ron Spears, who's website with all his pieces digitally available can be found here(http://ronspearsart.com/dataviewer.asp?keyvalue=33629&page=AllWorks).

Thanks for the wallpapers. I'd contribute but I'm on a fresh PC, sorry.

Thanks for ruining all that art with ugly filter, good work
>>7963405you can use developer tools on his siterogerdean.com/shop
>>7961551>>7961552>>7961553awesome>>7961558could you sauce this? looks like 70's-80's disney art
>>7963582Its from Fantasia, Night on Blad Mountain.>>7963468Most of these images would look like a low resolution blurry mess without it, this is a compromise.
>>7963673>compromisethey are literally unusable. These wallpapers suck dick you retard
>>7963675Don't let this anon fool you OP, at the very least a good chunk of these wallpapers benefited from that filter. Good exposure to some classic/retro pulpy art too, keep up the good work.
Why are all these horribly cropped with that retarded filter on them? Absolute fucking dogshit, just went through and reverse image searched the ones I liked and found the source image.
>>7963675>>7963898Thats a matter of preference. Apparently you want the low resolution originals, thats fine. I and plenty of others prefer a scaled/filtered version that covers the imperfections of the scaled image in much the same way a CRT filter does for pixel art. If you dont like that look you can go find the originals for yourself. I would have even sourced them if you asked like others did instead of whinging like pompous jackasses about something thats completely up to your own prediliction, as if that should matter to anyone in a thread you didnt start or contribute to.
>>7962336Is there a version of this with higher fidelity/resolution/color?
>>7964452Here is the original, its from a series of paitings from the 1940s, by Henryk Waniek. Unfortunately this seems to be the highest resolution available for this particular image, but if your interested this(savagesaints.blogspot.com/2011/11/henryk-waniek-swiat-jest-tajemnica.html) blog has the others from this series, mind you it is in polish.
>>7964456I upscaled it, edited the colors and added some noise to blend the low res pixelation it had.
>>7962330Ai generated?
>>7964456>>7964509My thanks.
>>7964516Yep
I gotta say, the use of that photography/print paper like filter is really horrible. None of the pictures that use that are ones I would want to see come up as wallpapers. I know there's better upscale techniques out there, although I've noticed in recent months that AI upscale is getting more...uggg. Often making an image looking like it's been AI drawn instead of just enlarged. It's like one step forward, two steps back. I appreciate the guys trying to upscale and make images more presentable, sometimes it works well, but in this instance, it does not.

hopefully Erol won't be offended...
>>7964971Why dont you just say that this is your opinion and nothing more? Its like its not good enough to say that YOU dont like it, I am also expected not to like it seemingly for no other reason than blind conformity to your standards despite the fact that you dont even hold the consensus in this thread. Granted I dont use all of these, but I like the way it looks on most of these upscaled drawn/painted images. It reminds me of how pixel art that might not look good on its own can be enhanced by a CRT. If you disagree, thats fine but your personal preference is just that, personal. How is this some kind of objective criticism?
