>>7983836No offense but like modern architecture sucks compared to just about any other period and architectural style. It's basically minimalistic straight lines and saving a buck.
>>7984388>but like modern architecture sucksstopped reading here

>>7984388nah, I like the new sweeping designs and abstract shapes. Makes it more interesting. Traditionalistic architecture is beautiful too but it's old. We don't record events in tapestry anymore.
Most of this is too good for the common person. We need just concrete blocks and nothing more. The common person does not deserve beauty to any extent. Too much greeny too.
>>7986407This is Mid-Centenary Modern. Its an old office building for some accounting firm or something or other, pretty sure it was don by Wright.
>>7986416>pretty sure it was don by WrightYes, Johnson Wax Headquarters in Racine, Wisconsin. However it's from 1936 so I don't think it's mid-century, maybe a precedent.
>>7986407>>7986416>>7986539its a textbook example of avant garde design, in the academic sense at least. It was built like 15 years before the ubiquitization of this kind of style which makes it seem well ahead of its time, but also retroactively diminishes its visionary impact.
just watched the movie "columbus" by kogonada. If you love architecture, give it a try. i loved it but realize it might be slow for some people.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YVtaKw-j4nY
