I used to watch classic 1950s and 60s TV shows with my dad when he was around

There's one that apparently doesn't exist the way I remembered and likely is just misremembering the whole thing

Here's everything I remember
>the show was called "Daddy's Home"
>the show was from the aforementioned decades and was in black-and-white
>the show was about a married American couple with atleast one young son
>the man of the family worked in television and was either a writer or an actor on a talk show
>one episode has the man going to work sick only to pass out, spends the rest of the episode trying to convince the wife he's good enough to go back to work
>one scene has the husband bringing home some chocolate ice cream for a dessert the wife is making
>another scene the young boy is trying to convince his mother that he's full but still has enough room for a piece of candy

This is all I can remember at the moment
If anything else comes to mind I'll post

Thanks

It sounds like events that happened in three different episodes, as a matter of fact.

Main character Rob Petrie is the head writer for TV comedy show. In the episode "The Death of the Party" he tries to hide being sick from his wife because he went out and golfed in terrible weather despite her objections. In this same episode he mistakenly buys licorice ice cream instead of chocolate.
It's been years since I watched it so idk if the third scene you mentioned is in it but I wouldn't be surprised. (my memory is really fucking horrendously bad so I had to use Google just to piece this much together)

It's a good show. I watch the christmas special every year during xmas season
