Currently reading After Finitude by Quentin Meillassoux. It's been on my list for ages but I bumped it up after recently attempting to read Abstract Market Theory by Jon Roffe and finding it somewhat opaque (he references Meillassoux a decent amount). Like not incomprehensible but I definitely found myself going "yeah i'm gonna have to go check this guy's references" more than a few times. Meillassoux by comparison is more straightforward so far, I think in part because this book was published when he was in his 30s - which is quite young for a philosopher, and I find younger philosophers tend not to be quite as bogged down in obscure technical jargon as their peers who've been in the field for decades. Will share thoughts when I finish it if I feel like it's relevant to chaos magick at all

Well i'm following the steps on the Illustrated Ars goetia from Crowley, but I'm not a thelemist, so the incantations on the book had to be modified.

I mixed a little from St Cyprian book and Grimoire from pope honorious to make the incantations more catholike.like (I was raised a catholic, so it resonates more with me, and i like Jesus)

So far i have the preliminary invocation and blessings for the cabalistic sircle and the incense i will burn. i want to prepare some tools, the sword is an aspect that is mentioned in both grimoires, so i thought i could replace it with the machete and writo on it the names of YHWH, ADONAY and Tetragrammaton.

That is what i have so far. the song is because, in colombian folklore, the fight with the devil by our grandparents is a typical tale on how the human does not fear the devil, and the grimoires say one shall not fear the spirits, so i think it was a good theme, but i don't want to be disrespectful either

Yeah I feel like I'd go with that definition as well, even if the "constructed personality that takes over in certain situations" definition fits more neatly into a purely psychological model of magic. Subpersonalities seem like a useful tool as well, but if the whole idea with a servitor is that they operate autonamously, I want to engender that feeling of distance between myself & whatever it is it's programmed to do.

Sometimes I feel like the psychological materialist model is a bit of a trap. If I imagine my mind like a fitness landscape in evolutionary theory, the psychological model is like a local maximum - a mode of thinking I can easily adapt to (assuming I'm in currently in default normie worldview), but once I'm adapted to it I'm stuck there - able to come up with some clever mindgames, sure, but unable to conceive of any truly reality-warping potentials for magical practice. Whereas if I allow myself to wander further afield, there's a greater risk of falling into swamps of schizophrenic madness, but also potential of discovering much higher peaks (as in, realizing a model of magical thinking in which reality is actually being transformed, rather than it just being a more colourful version of a self-help book)

Agreed. I think this is a big part of maturing in general. As you develop, it's natural to hone in on patterns of behaviour/speech/thought etc that work for you, and really develop those. But it's a bit of a monkey's paw in the sense that you get trapped in those patterns & unable to conceive of doing things differently. This is what happens to most old people, hell this is what happens to most people by the time they're in their late teens. Beyond developing skills in any particular area of life, there's this whole meta-skillset that allows you to recognize when you're becoming too rigidly locked in to your patterns (or on the flipside, when you're too all over the place & need to regain some stability), how to extract the essence of skills from one domain & apply them to an entirely different domain, how to return to beginner's mindset and so on. And even this meta-skillset is something that can be zoomed out from & contrasted against other meta-skillsets (as in, comparing completely different philosophies of life & ways of summarizing all of your material activities).

I'm actually not entirely sure (found it on 4chan ages ago), I'm assuming it fits into somebody's system of measuring Vibrational Level. Mainly I posted it because it illustrates the idea of there being an emotional spectrum that one traverses rather than there just jumping from one discrete emotional state to an entirely different one. Whenever I find myself in a low emotional state I'm gradually able to move to higher states through a process of successive reframes. I'm trying to figure out a way to kill a spiritual being (soul/spirit/demon/angel/god), which I consider a quite chaotic undertaking because nobody else would even entertain the idea, if anything. I think I got pretty close, theoretically. So there are two ideas I came up with:
1) Spiritual beings are basically several ideas (think Plato's Ideals but not that fundamental) combined together to manifest as something, in our case spiritual entity. From this it gains the sense of identity, it knows what it is, and as long as it knows this it will keep manifesting on lower planes of reality, like what is commonly called "astral" or even somewhat in physical world. It's like a complex standalone idea within the Universal Mind, a point of focus. Then, in order to destroy this entity, this idea must be destroyed, fragmented, diffused, until there's nothing particular left for Universal Mind to focus on. Existence then would "forget" the entity and so it would cease to exist.
2) All that exists, exists for a reason, possesses motivation to exist. If this motivation is depleted, the entity will self-destruct because it has nothing to live for. Any reason would do, even self-preservation instinct. So from this point of view, in order to kill an entity, one must drive it into suicidal despair until it gives up on life.
Some problems still exist though. First of all, there's the matter of actually achieving such results and finding proper means of doing so. Second, inhuman intelligences are believed to be more tenacious and more mentally and spiritually capable than at least average human. Then, their motivation and will to live is also greater, as spirits and gods are believed to be either immortal or very ancient. To bring an end to such an entity would require a lot of preparation. Third, such an attack would quickly turn into a fierce battle to death, which again requires preparation.

Let me tell you something that nobody else would tell you. In fact you are lucky that I am particularly drunk this morning and feel like posting. You should focus on "invoking" a demon rather than "summoning". To summon requires enormous energies and would be a lifelong project. In order to invoke your demon just do whichever ritual resonates with you. The specifics of a ritual are not important, what is important is the state it puts you in and it must have significance in your mind. For this reason I recommend causing yourself some pain. Don't be a retard and injure yourself but pain is the easiest way to make something psychologically significant and serious on a subconscious level.

Once you have done your ritual you need to begin journaling. Talk to the demon in your journal. Ask it questions with your right hand and answer them with your left hand. This is where you can make deals and shit like a retard

An analogy: imagine it's been terrible weather all summer long, and finally there's an absolutely gorgeous day, classic bbq weather, women walking around half naked, people going swimming, etc. Your friends are going camping. But your boss is a real dick & he's decided you need to work overtime to finish a project. Imagine sitting in a windowless room, desperately wishing you were out there in the world enjoying the summer. Imagining it, fantasizing about it, but in every moment painfully aware of how you aren't experiencing it.

Now contrast that with an alternative scenario in which you told your boss to fuck off & you're sitting on a beach somewhere, enjoying the sunset. Perhaps in this moment you feel a deep appreciation for the warmth, the sunlight, the beauty of nature. You aren't nervous about losing this moment. You aren't clutching desperately to it in hopes that it won't pass. You aren't begging for more of it. You aren't anywhere else. You're simply immersed in it, feeling positive towards the totality of it.

Any time I've gotten girlmagick to work it's felt more like the latter. The former is like "ugh, tfw no gf, this sucks", and I find that usually just breeds more wallowing in the pit of despair. When I actually get positive results I'm in this state of viewing life as a beautiful totality (which of course love & women are one aspect of). It's like a sense of knowing that, even if [thing i want] isn't happening in this particular moment, it's 100% guaranteed that [thing I want] does happen regularly in my life - and if i'm truly able to believe that, there's no sense of desperation. I find when I'm in that state (which takes effort) i'll just randomly daydream about certain kinds of girls, and then meet actual women just like that within a few days/weeks/months
