Because I suck at drawing nice men, and I want to improve
>>
>>2875918
Sorry dude, you have to post 5 images to start a thread
>>
Anatomy is important, attitude is even more. You can make anatomically correct drawings that look stiff like hell because the attitude (movement) isn't there. I like this model sheet of from The Venture Bros because it covers that quickly; Essentially, the way your body moves is mostly affected by your spine, then upper body, and then the lower body carrying everything else.

...so start with the head, then spine, then you can make a rough shape for the pelvis, torso and shoulders. Try to think of the human body as a rigid mechanical thing, it helps with how things assemble and rotate. Usually, you can trace a straight line connecting both shoulders and you'll find the clavicle (roughly). The fun thing is, you'll get varying "V" shapes with the neck in the middle because you can't really lower your shoulders that much. Deltoids (that the muscle on your shoulder) are taller and lower than what most people think. If you keep your arms dangling next to your body, the elbow pit should be somewhere around the end of your ribs, and your wrists somewhere near your balls. If you extend your fingers, you wouldn't be able to reach the top of your kneecaps. Have you seen the classic "I'm a photographer" pose, where girls are sitting in a corner, legs bent and their chin on their knee? That should give you an idea of how long your upper leg actually is. People are usually around 8 and half heads tall (it varies).
>>
And here's a Tom & Jerry model sheet showing more of that line of action. It goes stretches beyond the spine and provides that "weight" to the character.

Shoulders; I'm dropping this picture because I find it very useful and clear. Try to roll your head and see how far you can go on either shoulder. Pay attention to your neck, where it starts (cervix) and where it ends. Also pay attention to how your throat moves. Try to keep your clavicle in place and see how that impacts your movement. You can do pretty much any pose you want because many pieces of your body are moving. When you contract a muscle, it grows on the outside and pulls bones it connects to; You're able to move the same bone in two directions because for each muscle, you have another one on the opposite side doing the exact opposite job (when one is contracted, the other one is relaxed).

Be ready to sketch random stuff until it "clicks". Understanding how things are connected together and interact with each other will help you a lot.

More general stuff found on Ben Newman's old blog... He goes through the whole process of making an illustration (idea > initial sketch > references > cleaning up > background). The guy has his own way of working so it might not be the best for everyone (you would have to check his speed paintings of random movie shots to understand), but the first three steps are pretty common. Check artists blogs, they often cover these things. Download for further reference if you want, but make sure you read and understand the process. Collecting files without using them is not going to help you: no one can do the job for you.

Keep in mind that plenty of artists still screw up. They see their mistakes, but most people don't. I knew a guy who was terrible at his job but still got plenty of clients because it was good enough for them. You don't have to settle down for mediocrity, but you don't have to punish yourself and refuse to draw certain things because you know you suck at it. Keep drawing, if something doesn't make sense, try to understand how it works so next time you know. Don't be afraid to scrap drawings if something is going wrong and you can't fix it - sometime trying to fix a broken construction is more time-consuming and depressing than restarting from scratch. Stay motivated, get simple objectives you can fulfill to get a moral boost, look how others are doing their thing, observe wrestling matches frame-by-frame,... there are plenty of options available today.

(I find animation model/character sheets are especially useful, make a search and see if that works for you.)

It was actually drawn by Doxy/Onta, a 40 year old porn veteran, and also a fucking bear.
Darling, your clock is way off.
>>
>>2877880
You say "porn veteran" as if he was a porn star and not actually a fat furry weirdo obsessed with femboys, aka a run-of-the-mill coomer lol.

Nah all you fucks have to say after hours of work is is "k thnx" and then proceed to ask for more of the exact same character on the next thread or try to go "oh can you fill this other request that I totally didn't make but i want filled?".
That endless void metaphor is strong on draw threads.

The Animator's Survival Kit by Richard Williams seems like a good book, easy to find online and it seems to give interesting tips. Learning how to pose characters makes them pop (and extra hot if you get the faces right).

Come to think about it, maybe anons don't know about Gachi. It's a meme genre in music, but it can work as a reference point. Surreal gay porn seems like a new fetish.
