hmm i'm not sure about this. the story is basically "i can fix him so i can date him", and in stories like this, i'm always wondering "well after they date then what?", the foundation of the relationship is basically in "correcting" someone so they can fit your definition of love, but isn't that in a way also just another form of mental manipulation? something that was the cause of the problem in the first place? it's basically just replacing an unhealthy coping mechanism with another. i'm also completely aware that i might be overthinking this too much and i can just take it at face value, the art is pretty and the seme is hot and it's enough for me to enjoy the story after all, but oh well after the rain comes the rainbow and after post nut clarity comes mixed emotions i guess. 3/5.
>>2997452'i can fix him' is absolutely as much a sexual fantasy as anything else in BL.
>>2997215What did he mean by this?
>>2997189Not really BL but I recently watched KinnPorsche and was astonished to see how lewd it was for a live action series. It was full of BL tropes (both good and bad) but somehow it all ended up being very charming for me. Honestly the first live action BL that I genuinely enjoyed.
BabanBabanban Vampire. It's a work from the author of Dousei Yankee Akamatsu Seven. It's pretty dang hilarious BL. It's about a vampire which in dilemma whether or not to suck the blood or nah.Art is top tier toohttps://mangadex.org/title/25940c8e-d443-4fd4-b90a-4751f9daee62/babanbabanban-vampire

>>2997464I've been following it for a while, not sure I'd really categorise it as BL. That fight scene with the teacher was hot though.
>>2997464Oh, I didn't realise until the end of chapter 1 that you did this yourself, anon! Thank you very much, please keep up the great work. It's a fun series with a lot of personality for sure.
I finally got around to reading this. As someone who isn't usually a fan of Asada Nemui, I'm very impressed. There's something about it that almost seems like a throwback to 70's and 80's shoujo, though I'm not exactly sure why it's giving me that impression.
This is pretty cute.
>>2997519The blanket on the bed made me think of flower motifs in classic shoujo, I didn’t even realize it was a blanket the first time I read this chapter.
>>2997490Teacher? Did you reply to wrong person or you read the raw? It's still BL though as that vampire interested in that boy

>>2997491Oh I'm not the one who translate it though. But yeah it seems like its the work of one-man army as he/she didn't clean and redraw quite a lot of japanese text..
But why
>>2997519yes, something about it and old BL feels very melancholy and thematically blue. Asada Namui has those flavor with a dash of modern nuances.

>>2997742yeah I feel bad about people seeking numu out to directly insult their art but it's unfortunately really funny when korean authors freak out like this>>2997744>ironic post modern yaoinumu secret genius.. the seme is comedically abusive, it's a pretty entertaining read>he smiles at other men even after saying he likes me>continues searching for ex bf after i disappear him>stab myself in the hand so he'll pay more attention to me>he talks to other men while i'm hospitalised>won't hold my handhis behaviour isn't that unusual for the genre but the bluntness of his abusive dialogue is amazing
He kinda cute in a messy raunchy type of way. Hoping they fuck with Gen as the dom bottom and Kurose silently sobbing in guilt, would make a good balanced and adorable couple in a weird way.
Sequels that are probably gonna suck but I'll read.

>>2997741Genuinely feel bad for the artist, but it makes me wonder what kind of criteria lezhin has when it comes to picking up works. All the manga/webtoons about comic artists have sold me the idea of editors being demanding so it's curious that nobody stepped in at any point in time to tell her to hold back the Y2K yaoi nostalgia.
just finished reading the latest volume of ameiro paradox and it's amazing how almost 10 years later onoe and kaburagi are still my fav bl couple ever

>>2997991My new theory is that artists are less interested in working with lezhin after all their scandals about low pay and they're gonna start settling for more bad art. I can't hold it against anyone for making fun of this art it's bad bad. It's fully lezhin's editors fault that this artist got their feelings hurt.
>>2998046Does Lezhin have actual editors the way manga magazines do? They put out so much shit that I assumed they only correct major mistakes in the text without interfering with the art/plot.
>>2998022You're the mvp anon, many thanks. Damn is this title dark and into gender fuckery. One could say all omegaverse are a play on traditional gender roles put on steroids (or pheromones), but this one sure doesn't pull any punches. I'd call it a feminist BL, literally.

Futekiya sisters … it’s over
>>2998220w-what happened?
>>2998220What happened? The site seems fine to me?
Gonna guess most new and popular series will be pay per chapter using points.
>>2998226I'd say this is good news, I'll finally be able to read the Keiko Takemiya sci-fi they had on MangaPlanet. And I didn't see anything saying they're going to lock any series to chapter purchase only, if anything that picture you posted indicates both methods will coexist. If tiktokers or twitter are freaking out and making assumptions, they're almost certainly wrong.
>>2998227They're doing this supposedly because for some series they cannot get the rights to release them to their subscription model. But to me it looks like going forward it will not be worth it to have as many translators work on a popular subscription series vs working on popular pay-per-chapter series that will generate more revenue.
>>2998228>popular subscription series vs working on popular pay-per-chapter seriesDo you have any indication that these will be different series, though? Because it could just be that the sub option exists as usual and subscribers can read everything as long as they pay every month, but people who don't have a regular sub can also buy chapters or volumes and can read the things they've bought forever even if they're not paying the monthly sub. Idk, that makes more sense to me than to have two different models with separate titles like you suggest.
>>2998229Oh wait, I was wrong. Hm. That makes sense but I wonder what title they wanted so badly that they'd make this huge change? It's gotta be high profile. Oh well, I can't imagine it's a BL magazine pulling that stunt. I suspect things won't change significantly for those of us who are there for BL.
>>2998229Hang on, thinking back to their credit pages, each series only seems to have one or two translators no matter how popular it is. I can't see why they'd put more translators on a popular series whether it's per chapter or subscription, what would be the point of that? Why would more people working on it make the translation any better? Too many cooks spoil the stew, that sounds like a waste of money. I think there are things to worry about when it comes to access, especially for the non-BL fans, but I don't think translator numbers per project are going to be something to worry about. But maybe I'm just too excited for Keiko Takemiya and the possibility of a merch store. If they carry Ayu Yamane's merch I'm gonna buy some for sure.
>>2998231maybe it's not for a single title but for like a deal with a whole magazine.
>>2997742>>2997750Has any Japanese author freaked out like this? I find Korean bl authors extremely sensitive and protective of their work, no matter how dogshit it actually is. I feel like they can't handle criticism most of the time, and readers coddle the shit out of them.
>>2998202I don't know why this author is so boring for me
>>2998243I feel like saying yes but I can't remember an exact name.
>>2998243Critism like what? I thought they are only sensitive to fan scanslation even though they are not being licensed in official english
>>2998243I think the weirdest behavior I've seen from a japanese BL author on Twitter was when the Momo to Manji author accused the author of Bena of plagiarism out of nowhere while egosearching her name.
>>2998287I just realised "egosearching her name" is extremely redundant oh well
I don't know what the fuck they're saying but this is looking cute so far>>2998273They also freak out over official translation images being reposted. Fans watermark screenshots of purchased chapters in an author's comments to prove they're pure of heart>>2998287That was indeed very weird, no friendship among Edophiles

>>2998534Personally I just grew tired of bad ending for homo. I feel I had my fill of it since it used to be the default of any gay shit in anime and manga.
>>2998534There was a phase when I felt like that, but lately nearly all the BL endings have been so saccharine that I came to long for proper bad endings and raw edginess of some older works. I'm glad that authors like Asada still deliver.

It's been a few months since I decided to quit the scan team I'd been a part of for over five years... It had become so restrictive and over-scheduled I felt I was going insane, it's been so nice not having to dread deadlines like I'm in college again or like I got a fucking second job—one I'd been doing for free, for the love of god; I had also lost interest in the projects I'd been working on, so it's been fancy catching up on the things I've been wanting to read for ages and finding new stuff... I now got plenty of free time though, so I'd like to go back to cleaning and typesetting – if there's any translator here who needs some help with a neat project, I'm pretty good at editing~ I'm not joining a big scan group ever again but I'm down for teaming up for a more laid-back situation, I'm fast and responsible, just find projects we're equally invested in, and no tight schedules. There's also the "only read complete mangas" option, but that's less fun. As for new releases, no fucking clue, I just check various publishers every few months to see if there's anything I want.
>>2999042You're totally thinking about omegaverse, anon>>2999088There are very similar accounts about male prostitution in Edo Japan. Highly recommend reading Momo and Manji, the author really did her homework and has some handy history notes in the extras
I thought he never finished this series. Are they gonna put it out without an ending or what?
>>2999042After many years the elusive beast has finally been sighted. The omegaverse and subverse target audience
>>2999091>>2999092I was shitposting, anon's comment reminded me of that dubious article in the pic. It wasn't meant to be taken seriously, really.I've been browsing through old gay magazines for the short stories inside, trying to scratch my itch for that 20th century gay community setting as well.>>2999094Will do.
>>2999039i don't even remember that the mc was the uke in that relationship lmao, also was there supposed to be a side story for the ex-bf and the manager? it just feels weird that their story was left hanging
>>2998999This one gave me some serious tfwnobf, that country bumpkin is just so precious hot. It's not the type of combination you usually see.
>>2998999wait, this ended? Please don't tell me this ended already, it JUST started the second season.
>>2999042haha
>>2999097Oh, that makes sense. No worries!>browsing through old gay magazines for the short stories insideFound any interesting ones?
i hate the story and the seme so much and i regret reading it ugh
>>2999101himbo uke is such a rare combination and i wish there's more of them
>>2998959For western release I basically rely on MRM, for series I'm really into I usually read it in JP so I usually read the full volume.
>>2999104In English? Not yet.I've been reading the world's first gay magazine "Der Eigene" (The Self-owner), which made its debut in 1896 in Germany. It started out as an anarchist magazine and gradually began featuring artistic and literary homosexual material two years later. There's some good BL-ish stuff in it (not kidding, the Year 24 group and some of those German authors would have been BFFS) so I'm currently compiling all those short stories to post ITT (maybe next month).
Always a nice surprise when you find out a het porn artist is getting into BL.
I fucking despise omegaverse but this one's alright in my book. There's No Way This Is Fate by Chifuyu.
Not into male pussy but this series might be the exception. Pretty hot for what it is not sure how they're gonna give that guy his dick back. Balance so far is good.
>>2999168Can't believe I'm enjoying this. Maybe that's how far gone we are.

>>2999203cuntboy shit
>>2999211That's the word! I was wracking my brain.
>>2999168Fuck off with this shit. It's already enough western attempt to put fucking vaginas on everyting.
>>2999168The one thing I ask from this godforsaken hellhole of a planet is that this goddamn tranny shit doesn't infect the gay content more than it already does.Vaginas are some of the most repulsive things I've ever had the displeasure of witnessing.
JP anons, any good newly started BL you are checking out recently? Started reading the 弓道 one that's free on pixiv, it's pretty good. I like the boyish charm the story has the blonde light tsu is cute without being overbearing so far.

why are koreans like this?
kek
>>2999236isn't this the one where the guy gets a boner from being tsukkomi'd? fuck yeah
Was in the mood for older manhwa and I binge read this and I...hated it lmao. the characters all annoyed me (danna or whatever his name is was the fucking worst), the story was stupid, so many plotlines were dropped never to be seen again (what happened to the ex-student council president???) and this is just me being petty but Yuri never really apologized to Jaerim for calling him ugly all the time and never in 80+ chapters that he ever called him cute to his face even once. I need a palate cleanser after this shit so lemme just read my favorite bara porn
>>2999269It's on my reading list since I liked Aitsu no Daihonmei. Should I still give it a try anyway?
>>2999269Yep balance was so fucking bad Jaerim could have pulled class prez 100%. Also the dude with the EDs side story makes me fucking sick literally some of the worst NTR I've ever seen hope the two fucking die.
I've seen the annoying ad so often that it's basically stuck in my head, so I have to ask. What's the verdict?
>>2999276i like it. i also want a cute autistic boyfriend who can turn my art into a video game.
>>2999273oh man i haven't read Aitsu no Daihonmei in so long but i guess the premise was kind of similar? just know that the seme here constantly berated the uke in the beginning of the story and called him ugly all the time, and later on he....got weird and 80% of the later parts were just them constantly having conflicts with each other, it's really tiring to read but hey your experience might differ from mine>>2999275>the dude with the EDs side storythis is the bow dude right? man his story with that blonde guy was soooo unpleasant to read, i hated every single second of it
>>2999276Good art, cute, good balance.
>>2999281>this is the bow dude right?Yes with blue hair. Glad that fag will probably have body dysmorphia for the rest of his life that only gets progressively worse as he ages with it his shitty bf slowly falls out of love with his deteriorating self and regrets his choices while the other dude who got cucked finds someone better and moves on.
>>2999236really like this one, the author has a cute artstyle and the relationships in both this and their earlier one are great too. I was almost about to say purity balance before realising how what I was about to type...
>>2997741
>>2999258>tsukkomi'dwhat
>>2999269I liked the extra chapters because the florist couple looks pretty cute
>>2999276I identify pretty heavily with the autistic dude's mindset, even if I'm the polar opposite to it on behavior. The idea that a guy like the ML could get interested on the autistic guy gave me butterflies, so I liked it. Wish I could find the raws to read the novel tho.
>>2999304Same energy
>>2999304Why does every panel of him looks like a botched AI image?
>>2999308wait which florist couple? i don't think there's any in this manhwa
>>2999314There were two extra side stories, the second one with the punk who almost rapes the "uggo" is about him ending up with another guy, years later they are florists.
>>2999308>>2999314 (me)oooh did you mean Incorrigible? yea that one's pretty cute, a case of a spinoff being better than the original work, Ayeon being so pure compared to him in the original manhwa is reaaally unbelievable tho, but I guess it's pretty funny too that way.
>>2999316I honestly don't quite understand how this is so common, the main story becomes "boring" but the side stories/side couples remain highly entertaining. It's not even exclusive to manga, I've seen that happen in novels too.
>>2999318To be fair Incorrigible is super short with only 8 chapters, compared to the original which has 80+ chapters. Not saying that longer manhwas are worse, it's just this writer in particular seemed to really like throwing bullshit after bullshit as the story went on. Best believe that the spinoff would've gone off the rails too had it gotten that long lmao.
I am begging (You) to read the dolphin sexooooo cartoon, at least the second couple's part, the orca and the redhead.
>>2999339Hows the balance?
>>2999340Orca dude is a chad so he fucked female orca when he was in the ocean before he met redhead, otherwise he's pure (sex). There's no cheating fuckery, if that's what you want to know. No "I'm gay for you" bullshit either.Very balanced imo.
>>2999236Really liked this, the couple's dynamic and interaction really reminded me of Onoe and Kaburagi from Ameiro Paradox. Hope there'll be a second volume.
>>2999420There is.
Tweak and Craig is actually the cutest thing.
>>2999238Fucking kek. They didn't even try with the shoes. These webtoon apps just publish anything.

STOP TRANSLATlNG STUFF lF YOU DON'T KNOW JAPANESE!!! REEEEEEEEEEEEEEE l CAN'T TAKE lT ANYMORE FUCKlNG ESLs!!!!
>>2999544I really hate it when this happens, just leave the manga the fuck alone, an actual english speaking translator would now be less likely to pick it up since you've already done a half-assed job of it you dumbfuck.
>>2999544This isn't even esl, this looks more like MTL, possibly from Chinese or other translation to yield resuts that bad. Disgraceful
>>2999514hard to say but the couple on the far left where the wimp becomes the top on the end was memorable. that said, this image makes me wanna reread all of harada's works again. thanks anon
>>2999544Manhwa is even worse off. I swear every "scanlation" has a disclaimer that goes like:>hey guys I don't understand korean>i also don't understand english either>i hope you enjoy it!Really activates my almonds.

>>2999695Gonna' be honest, I don't know shit about Yaoi so I would have assumed 'Yuri BL' would have been a term made up to piss people off on here.
>>2999544what is this? artstyle looks super familiar
>>2999714Reverse, same author as pic related.
>>2997189very much a longshot but does any anon have the password for Arigatomina's scanlation website? It looks like she changed it a while back and the one in her LJ doesn't work anymore
>>2999697how did you not know shit about yaoi in a thread about bl works....
You've got this nice childhood friends bl with unrequited love, character developments, and all that jazz in season 1, which would've made for a perfect setup for the second season where we can finally see how their romance progresses. But nooo of course the writer failed their homework and season 2 is a story about the mc's annoying brother and his friend instead. Talk about disappointment and missed opportunity sigh.
>>2999691Why didn’t he just fap like they told him to
>>2999794bullies take agreement as a sign they can push things even further, it would've made no difference

whats the adekan thing, i just came across it on, uh, tvtropes and read the description>especially notable for its impossibly detailed art, as well as the sheer quantity of fetish-tastic Fanservice and innuendo. It's so blatant that the series could almost be considered BL, but it never really crosses the line and both main characters are canonically heterosexual.what is this
>>3000478Exactly as it says on the tin, it's both incredibly baity and incredibly conservative/het in a way that almost seems impossible to mix. It was fun for the first couple volumes but the further it gets the more mental gymnastics author tries to introduce abt the characters totally not being gay for each other. It's the manga equivalent of a fag hag who thinks gays are cute but treats them as accessories and votes to ban gay marriage.
>>3000436I think it's deliberate, given the manga is about a very oldfashioned sexist society and the MC is the epitome of classic oldschool masculinity.>>3000469Which title?
>>3000486lol I think it's kinda interesting how extreme you can get with gayness as long people perceive it as "fake"
>>3000500The problem is, no one reads this for anything but the gay, and everyone knows perfectly well that it's gay. The readership is purely fujos that like getting edged or are hippocrites about their hobbies just like the author. I doubt she's trying to push the limits of the mag or appeal to non-fujo audience or anything, it's just her own tastes. It's also not some 'gay relationship goes under the radar bc it's supposed to be fanservice', she works very hard to deny the homo every single time it comes up
>>3000487I Became the Lousy Side Top. Its korean btw.
just popped into my head. anyone read anything thats like, fight club, or a beautiful mind. of course, if you actually mention any, your effectively spoiling it, so, uh. huh. just the idea of someone falling for/getting bullied by someone who isnt real seems funny. even more so if the main character KNOWS its not real. stalked by gay ghosts or something.
>>3000550heh. the sixth sense adaption. a pyschologist tasked with treating a young kid who can "see gay people". except the whole the twist at the end, bruce willis character suddenly realizes that his wife is a cute twink and he didnt know it the whole time instead of the movies twist.
Did anyone get the Titan’s Bride Seven Seas physical edition? How uncensored was it? I’m considering getting a copy solely because of the porn value, but I won’t settle for anything less than Harada-tier detailed dicks.
>>2998817What's this? Seems fun
>>3000146its hilarious that the moment he has straight sex he becomes the villain of the manga
>>2998167I’m going to make them all daddies simple as that
Wait, is this gay??
>>3000569Is uncensored, but. Well.
>>3000590You tell me what you think.
>>3000590Disappointing considering I've recently read a josei with a beautifully detailed monster cock on that level which is rare from what I've seen.
>>3000590>>3000591Yeah that's what I was afraid of. These paintbucket fill tool cocks are worse than lightsabers I swear to god.
>>3000592>a josei with a beautifully detailed monster cockPlease post it, I'm ashamed to admit I'm deeply curious about huge cocks.

>Kodansha launching a manga subscription service>banning all explicit content, including BL, because of App Store policies Depressing, I was wondering why they were barely releasing BL titles. That’s the same policy that led Futekiya to fold, as well.
Where does "Childhood Friends" land in your BL tropes ranking? Personally it's my favorite or at least second most when done right and I want to know anons's opinions here (also throw me your recommendations thanks)
>>3000662>Futekiya to foldUh, what? You must be thinking of a different service, futekiya is still going and never had an app anyway
>>3000667Really variable. It's either the most boring shit ever or it's A+Some of my favorite:>Itoshi no Nekokke>40x40 Chikuwa>Scratch Blue>Whimsical Jaguar>Jackass! >It Can't Be Mutual Love!! >Restart wa Tadaima no Ato de>that really good one where the dude gets amnesia and forgets that he and his childhood best friend have been in love for yearsThere are lots of other good ones too I'm sure, these are just the ones I remember
>>3000662Frankly I'm always glad when big publishers' services decide to shoot themself in the foot from the get go. It'll make it harder for them to kill their competition which is always a good thing. Besides it changes nothing for BL, they only own one BL label, Honey Milk, which has under 200 titles and only a few of them are any popular.
>>3000673>tfw some of the series I most want are from Honey Milk
>>3000674They might still sell them to a different Eng publisher
>>3000675They've been pretty strict about doing it themselves so far, but I and my fellow collectors can hope
>>3000670They’re being folded into MangaPlanet. https://support.futekiya.com/rules-for-transferring-subscription-to-the-new-manga-planet/They said in their announcement video that it was because they’re developing an app.https://youtu.be/L87Bj-b-woI
>>3000679They don’t seem to be slowing down on BL licenses, though. If anything the quality of their recent licenses has jumped up.
>>3000667Childhood friends sucks when it is deployed as the ONLY reason why a couple is in love, way too many BL manga throw their hands in the air and say, for example, “they love each other because when the seme first saw the uke on the playground he thought he was a girl and then defended him like a big brother as they grew up” and it’s so boring. What makes all of these >>3000672 manga with childhood friends good is that the leads have chemistry and a reason for being attracted to each other beyond “we grew up together and I’ve always loved you.”
>>3000667I just hate the plots so fucking much when they have the mc be the one pining after his older childhood friend and the CF is a massive whore who never sees him other than a little brother until the start of the series. Makes me fucking sick.
>>3000672Thanks for the recommendations anon, I've got nothing to do right now so lemme check which ones I've read:>Itoshi no Nekokke (this was cute and bittersweet, but I remember one of the side characters being annoying as fuck)>Scratch Blue (felt like I've read this before but couldn't for the life of me remember what it's about, might reread later)>Jackass! (also due for reread, but I remember this being pretty hot)>It Can't Be Mutual Love!! (now this I actually loved, very easy read and kind of wholesome?) >Restart wa Tadaima no Ato de (personal top 50 bl but not sure about this being childhood friends since they kind of just ran into each other once)>the amnesia one (Is it Mou Ichido Nando Demo? because I loooved that one top 50 bl easily)>>3000685Oh yea this kind of story I wasn't that much of a fan either and in fact I just read one with exactly this same story beat yesterday lmao
>>3000685no this is based, mc turning an older playboy straight guy gay is hot (ESPECIALLY if the latter is the uke).
>>3000667Pretty much my favorite trope. Especially if one of the two is always in love with the other by the start of the story.
>>3000707Have you read Osananajimi to no Arekore? Because that one was just perfection in childhood friends fluff
>Manipulating and yandere ml>Isolating mc from his friends and family >ml is the bottomNow I'm interested.
>>3000733I like fluff, but it has to have the right amount of darkness in it. It's a bit too hard to capture, I guess I do like characters suffering but then getting a fluffy happy ending?
childhood friends should borrow their friend's older brother's porno dvd and watch it together and decide to jerk off together and then get curious about butt stuff together thats what childhood friends should be doing
I think the first chapter of Usagi no Mori (JUST the first chapter, mind you) is the ideal, perfect childhood friends set-up.
>>3000780Agreed 1000%. Shame what happened later.>by the way, is it still shit?
