Overall, while I don't care for and may even enjoy dubcon in BL, the fact that the mc acted like a dumbass as well as its more grounded nature in the beginning makes it a frustrating read. Why did the mc forgive his rapist so quickly when said rich rapist made the mc pay for his intentional breaking of expensive equipment I'll never know. The only positive thing is the art for this series, which isn't a knock out of the park, but still pretty nice to look at.

Finished Marriage Game. This felt unlike anything else as far BL goes, I think in parts it could have been one of those modern seinen with BL subtext/text at times. It's weirdly sexless despite the sexual premise and the occasional suggestive parts (They even go as far as teasing switching two times and both characters show they are fine with it) but it always pull back. V1 only had one real brief sex scene but this V2 doesn't have any. A shame, because the relationship between the two leads is very interesting and the uke is particularly based. Not ashamed of sex, enjoys bottoming, takes the initiative, wants to switch. The whole "sex" premise sounds an excuse to have the characters fuck but it's actually taken completely serious which I think makes it different from most BL, a lot of other works would have used it to have a bunch of fucked up combos, but in this work the characters act "realistic", like the two brothers didn't want to do, the two straight soldiers were unsure how to even bring up the thing. The characters would have worked outside of a BL because they have zero to do with the genre.I feel like the story should have been 3 volumes, there are some part in the middle of V2 where it feels like it's speeding up and some characters basically die off screen. Sorry to recommend something mainstream, but I recommend Yarichiin bitch club. The arts amazing, the characters are interesting and Yuri can step on me. Also, Dakaichi. It’s pretty rapey at the beginning, but it gets sweet. Dekoboko sugar days is legit serotonin. Art styles really cute. Don’t get caught!xxx was my first, and it’s really cute, and I really like it!! It’s full color, there’s no rape, and it has great characters as well. All about lust is just amazing! It has two main stories and I LOVE the main characters. It has a cute simplistic art style that’s really pretty. Mihanada Pectolite was really sweet and refreshing because of the healthy relationship and story. It’s short, but worth a read. Disappointing work for OSHIMA Kamome. It's a story about two cousins in a relationship they have to hide from their family. I think this is the most realistic and down-to-earth incest story I've encountered in BL. Aside from that, her Gengetsurou Kitan is also enjoyable.

A popular guy decides to fake-date his marathon runner friend, just to have an excuse to turn down women. They both end up more into it than expected. I actually prefer it to the sanitized ikemen that we have today. As well, many BL nowadays are too saccharine that outside of a few works, most focus on the will-they-won't-they drama and not much else. So this was refreshing to see. Even though the bodyguard loved the prince, if he betrayed the queen he would forever be dishonored.The prince and bodyguard tried to keep their affair a secret but the Queen eventually learned of it and used it to her advantage by forcing the two lovers to fight each other.The Queen's plans culminated with the prince and bodyguard engaged in combat and the prince was forced to fatally wound his lover. The Queen transformed herself into a griffon and had taken to the air and plunged toward the prince with outstretched talons.The prince doesn't have the willpower to pick up his sword again. Plus the composer was already feeling ashamed of having a crush on a man so of course he'd make the worst assumption. But that's not really the dark haired guy's fault. I see the dark haired guy as more brash and brutally honest, probably because of his line of work and social class, but because the composer has low self esteem and we see things from his point of view, it seems at first like that guy is unnecessarily mean. However as the composer's self esteem is growing and he is standing up for himself at work and bonding with the kid, he's also starting to understand that the other guy never hated him and just thought he was wasting his potential for a while.
