post meals and recipes that can be made very cheapy or very quickly. we are going for caloric content here not flavor.

here I'll start to give a good idea of what I'm talking about, I just invented this:
what you will need:
>hot dog (bratwurst if you're willing)
>tortilla
>mustard (invest in the stoneground kind if you prefer)
>oil, does not matter what kind
what you will do:
>boil the hot dog or brat in either water or beer. does not have to be good beer, could be a keystone light or something if that's all you have.
>let it sit for about 8 minutes, until it registers slightly under 160 deg F. the dogs are probably precooked so it doesn't really matter but we will finish heating them in a second.
>take the dawgs out. i don't have tongs so I usually do this with two forks.
>put some oil in a skillet, medium heat
>finish the dawgs for about 35 seconds on each side to give them some color
>lay out a tortilla, squirt with mustard, roll it up
I call it the hitlurrito, what do you anons think?

kluski soop.

it's just flour and egg.
mix with a fork until it's very tacky and starts to pull away from the bowl, get a spoon nice and hot in your boiling broth and use it scoop and release individual kluskis into the broth, let them simmer for about 4-5 minutes and wala.

also delicious with chicken, leeks, or whatever leafy greens you want to add
>>
>>20462486
I'll have to try this. Another hack (maybe you're already doing this), but you can use bouillon cubes instead of broth. Hell, even ramen packets would probably work.

I think it's worth the extra couple dollars compared to the regular yellow stuff. Or just buy brown mustard?

yeah I use stock cubes for the broth. I really don't care much for buying liquid broth and I don't like lugging it home from the store anyway.

it's a simple soup but so damn satisfying

I have multiple savings accounts, a checking account, an MMA, a CD, a Roth ira, and a joint Roth account all exceeding that amount, a couple excessively exceeding, and I feel poor. Unless you are a thirdie you should genuinely be worried about your financial future

Heat your tortillas. It's important. Changes the chemistry. Makes them taste a lot better. Trust me.
Before your oil your skillet, heat it up dry. Get it HOT. Preheating is important to the process. When it's hot, flop a tortilla on, give it about 15 seconds. If the pan was sufficiently heated, then the tortilla is going to bubble on the up facing side. That's how you know it's getting good heat. When you see the bubble, pick it up and flip it on its other side. Letting it cook for another 10 or so seconds. This time, the side won't bubble, so you just have to feel it out. Yank it out, and flop the next one on. Repeat for as many tortillas you plan on eating.

Some brands of tortillas bubble less than others, so don't get complacent and allow your tortillas to burn. You have to watch them like a hawk, because the heat will cook them FAST.
>>
>>20462477
Thats too many steps bruh.
>put a dog on a tortilla, add mustard, eat

>poor
>eats meat
If you want to be poor with tortillas take a hint from the mexicans; beans and tortillas is all you need. On the other hand, I used to eat plenty of peanut butter. It stores for long periods and it's a handy source of calories when you can't bum food off other people. My favorite was to make some pan fried toast with peanut butter and maybe some raisins; occasionally I'd just slather some peanut butter on a warm tortilla.

microwave cheese quesadilla tacos:
1. place flour tortilla on plate
2. spread shredded cheese on tortilla
3. place another tortilla on top.
4. microwave for 45 seconds.
5. put stuff on top of quesadilla and fold, eat like big ass taco.
>>
>>20462477
>500g potato
>200g frozen fish
>starch
>spices of your choice
Shred potato, blend fish, put potato into towel and press to remove liquid, as best you can.
Mix potato with spices and fish, add starch until it just starts sticking together.
Put into a waffle iron (2 fillings), or press out and fry in pan, golden brown.

If more protein is preferred, bring a can of legumes to a boil, including the water. Add spices of choice, and vinegar/citrus juice of choice. Add something to thicken it, breadcrumbs, semolina, starch/water slurry, etc.
Put on top of fishy hashbrowns. Eat. Vary each time you do so so you don't get bored.

Cheap, nutritious, quick, delicious. The ideal food item.

Hot dog is not very good protein content for the price.
I would suggest minced meat and then it just becomes a tortilla. You get something like twice the protein per dollar.

>Egg fried rice
>Ingredients
Leftover Rice
Frozen corn kernels
Frozen green peas
Frozen mirepoix mix
Soy Sauce
Canola Oil
Salt
Pepper
>Equipment
Non stick frying pan
Wooden Spoon
>Method
Bit of oil in pan, heat to medium-high. Toss in handful of mirepoix mix and corn when oil shimmers.
Salt and Pepper lightly
Stir so it doesnt burn
When mirepoix is cooked(carrots softened, onion translucent), add more oil, turn up heat and toss in cold leftover rice. Break up with wooden spoon, add soy sauce to taste.
Let that cook for a minute or two, then throw in peas.
Once peas are warmed through, push rice to one side of pan and crack in one egg per serving. Scramble rapidly and then mix into rice.
Remove from heat and serve.

This recipe is extremely cheap, and takes less then ten minutes. You can add anything you have lying around in. It uses eggs, canola oil, and rice as the base, the absolute cheapest protein, fat, and carb respectively. It is also quite tasty and a vehicle for leftovers. It uses only two things that need to be cleaned.
>>
>>20462477
Friend, you can make your own tortillas that taste a billion times better by putting some flour
and salt in a bowl with water, mix it and add enough water so it's runny and you can pour it.

Then pour it onto a hot skillet and shape with a spoon.
I recommend an electric skillet unless you're a pro with the stove top
it burns fast the e skillet is very easy and then just cook them up I take the spoon under them to get them to flip nice and easy.
It is much better. They have a nice snap and chew. Like the 5 layer beef burritos
I wouldn't add any oil into the tortilla mix because they fall apart then.

Why do boomers eat these retarded abominations and think they are le poor? Hotdogs are more expensive than decent meat. Poor eating is a banana ($2 for 1 weeks worth) and/or oatmeal ($4 for one months worth, for a little more you can add almond milk and maple syrup which are both cheap and last a long time) for breakfast. Lunch: PB and J sandwich (somewhere in the ballpark of $10 for a months worth of everything) with a celery stick. ($2 for 2 weeks worth) Dinner is a cheap protein like frozen tilapia ($15 for 2 weeks worth) or chicken thighs ($5 for 1 week) with rice (you can buy a 12 pack of vigo for like $25 which is a months worth of pre-spiced rice, or just a 20 lb bag of enriched rice for $15 which will last you all year) and some frozen broccoli. (1 weeks worth for $2)

With this you can keep yourself fed for under $20 a week.

Ramen will always be the king of poorfag meals. Knew a friend with a shitty mother and all he bought him was cardboard trays of ramen noodles to eat. Knew another friend that had a health condition where he had to eat triple the amount of food than us. His mom also bought him cardboard trays of ramen and I remember them just sitting on his bed. I'll give that mother a pass though. I remember sleeping over at his house and for his meals he would make three at a time.

>D'Artagnan awakened Planchet and ordered him to open it.

>From this phrase, "D'Artagnan awakened Planchet," the reader must not suppose it was night, or that day was hardly come. No, it had just struck four. Planchet, two hours before, had asked his master for some dinner, and he had answered him with the proverb, "Sleep is the poor man's dinner." And Planchet dined by sleeping.

>A man was introduced of simple mien, who had the appearance of a tradesman. Planchet, by way of dessert, would have liked to hear the conversation; but the citizen declared to d'Artagnan that what he had to say being important and confidential, he desired to be left alone with him.

In college I did have a meal I called "fancy ramen".
At the grocery I'd pick up
>Cheapest bulk pack of hotdogs.
>Bulk pack of Ramen noodles.
>Bag of onions.

I could make a whole lot of cheap meals out of that.

Looking back, years later, what I was missing out on was adding some other veggies and egg. Would have made the meals much better and more nutritious for very little extra cash.

bro my grandma used to make these and make them a ton in winter.
mostly with a cabbage and meat stew.

>>
>>20471876
Boil then fry the noodles in oil.
Add chopped onion, yellow peppers; anything you want like baby corn bamboo mushrooms; then soy sauce, and sugar after the noodles start to get firm and chewy or right before - you dont want to burn any of it. Then you have firm, chewy, sticky teriyaki noodles.
*save the seasoning packet for some chicken or steak or something else.
You could season some chicken with it then add it on top kind of weird maybe i just like the teriyaki noodles with some vegetables mostly the yellow peppers
Broccoli would make it taste weird imo but do what you will

Or you could make a sweet and sour variant with ketchup, soy sauce, sugar, vinegar, and corn starch mixed and heated until thickness is achieved.

You could make some egg roll wraps with flour, egg, salt, and water. Mix so its runny and can be poured then pour some in a hot skillet and shape with spoon. Small and thin is best. You dont need the egg for this.

Make the mix with cabbage, onion, garlic, carrots, celery, egg and onion powder, garlic powder, soy sauce; mix then heat the concoction up some then put in a bowl and spoon some into the wraps.
Wrap the two sides in an inch or so on each side then roll one of the sides over the mix and into the long roll like a burrito.
Then fry or bake them bottom down first so they stay closed. I bet baking them so the stay closed and then rolling them in hot oil until golden brown would be cost effective and good. You may not need to bake them first just slap them down and they will heat closed like that in oil. I personally baked them because i never had enough oil.

Pro tip: buy an electric sillet with a lid for $30 at walmart. Walmart also doesnt charge an insane delivery fee but amazon will.

Beyond meat products are cheap enough and good.
I want more anons to eat it and see to save the animals im factory farms and taste a good product that is a little less than double the price of cheap meat.
Tofu is not good idk what is in beyond meat but its non gmo, plant and extremely delicious all things considered.
My favorite is the 1 pound ground beef it can easily be shaped into a patty like real meat, make meatball subs or hamburgers. For some reason i dont think the premade patties by the same brand are as good as the 1 pound package.
Maybe its my imagination.

Next the popcorn chicken. It has a good flavor and texture.

Then seared steak tips.

>>
>>20473244
They're about double the price of cheap meat, cheap for a good tasting meat alternative. I didn't mean regular cheap but it's not that much more expensive, the taste is closer than other fake meat brands, and the animals don't have to suffer. It's probably cheaper than humane versions of meat which I doubt are humane but are the absolute base line for what could legally be called humane.

>>
>>20473396
Poor people can eat a decent meat alternative at a decent price.
People are able to sell their soul for greed by doing something in a soulless manner to maximize profit.
It's cheaper than humane sources and those places are likely scamming people's expectations.

Two slices of American cheese (white or yellow, but not the deluxe stuff, the cheap extra-melty stuff)
Optional: a green onion and some leftover chili oil from your local chinky winky

Cook the ramen in water as usual to al-dente
Then add the seasoning packet, the cream/crema/half-and-half
Toss in the two slices of American cheese, along with a heaping spoonful of queso dip
When the cheese is melted garnish it with a chopped green onion and some chili oil, and enjoy!
Enjoy the fuck out of some Nacho Cheese Ramen, Anon, you only have one life to live

A little airfryer is far cheaper to run than an oven and they've been common for years now.

Most of this shit is actually expensive. If you want cheap meals that are actually balanced buy low quality whole chickens and cook stews it with rice or lentils or beans or whatever else you can get for cheap. It will demolish your price per meal and calories of bullshit like hotdogs + tortillas + beer + whatever, while also being better food than half the stuff you could get with more money anyway.
