I used the standard fare drug store carabiner to tote my keys around. What are some cooler options?
>>
>>18103662
honestly it's not about what's cooler as much as what feels best for how many keys etc. if you are already using a normal carabiner that's about as 'cool' as you'll get unless you start searching for vintage stuff to have a conversation piece. at that point it's up to you.
if you think buying some EDC marketed bullshit will make you cooler to other people, then you would be incorrect
>>
>>18103662
That shit is onions af. Hipsters in the late 2000s ruined that shit forever.
>>
>>18103669
Good point, anything beyond the basic shit you can find at the grocery store probably comes across as try hard.
>>
>>18103670
What’s the alternative? Keys in pocket? Carabiner/keychain is optimal.

been using one of these for probably 15 years now mainly because it has a bottle opener and makes a nice sound when my keys jingle
>>
>>18103662
i can't find a picture of it online but mine is a carabiner type thing that you can snap onto your belt loop with one hand at the top, then a circular part with a gap you can rotate to pass your keyrings to the lower part to lock them in
i like it because otherwise my keys scratch up my phone, and it's fun to fiddle with
>>
>>18103688
The leatherman is a cool option. I was looking for one with a bottle opener. I know you can pop bottles with lighters and shit but I’ve embarrassed myself too many times failing to do that in front of ppl.
>>
>>18103769
you sound like a dork
>>

What the fuck are you talking about, retard? Grocery stores don’t have carabiners.

had this for a while. i was looking for
>lots of spring tension so it never undoes itself accidentally
>non opening loop for the keys themselves so it never comes off unless i want it to
i got this from trayvax so MiUSA which is nice i guess and it met both requirements
>>
>>18103837
You’re the retard. Most chain grocery stores, like safeway for example, have an aisle with an end cap that has all kinds of things like carbiners, hammers, polish, dyes, lightbulbs, power strips, etc. you wouldn’t know because ur mommy probably buys your groceries.
>>
>>18103670
What does onions mean
>>
>>18103948
This is exactly the kind of thing I've been looking for. Thanks anon!
>>
>>18104017
I think if you type the word starts with a “S” and rhymes with “boy” /fa/ auto corrects it to “onions”
>>
>>18104078
Onions?

Nite-Ize makes great ones, including the S-biner line.

Also, fish.

>What’s the alternative? Keys in pocket?

YES, LIKE A PERSON.
>>
>>18104219
everyone is allowed to have their reasons for doing things they way they like

-less bulk in your pockets
-prevents scratches on your phone or if you have a nice leather wallet
-easier access to your keys
-more difficult to lose/forget your keys since you would visually notice them gone, on top of the locking mechanism of a carabiner being more secure than loose keys in a pocket which can be prone to slipping out while sitting down
>>
>>18104232
a carabiner is just another metal object that will scratch my phone, idk how it's supposed to prevent that
>>
>>18104219
Let me get this straight, I’m expected to carry my big ass retard smart phone, my wallet, a pocket knife AND keys all in my pockets? The weight and bull of all those items will have my pants sagging down and bulging out. Absolutely disgusting. You should get your head checked out if you think that’s okay.
>>
>>18104563
You don't really need the pocket knife unless you work manual labor and I suspect most people here do not.

I used to just use a carabiner but I recently bought this. You loop it on your belt so if anyone tried grabbing it it won't just break your belt loop. It's really meant for wallet chains, but I just use it for keys.

but the jannies somehow find time to randomly delete the pic of my carabiner https://warosu.org/fa/thread/18103662#p18103699

I used one of these but it's really just because it was the first thing I found that was a carabiner with a bottle opener. I don't actually clip my keys on my belt, I just clip it at the top front of my pocket so my keys don't bunch up down in the bottom.

I might switch to the Leatherman one >>18103688 posted, does the same stuff without being quite as autistic.

I've been doing this since high school
>>
I just have my keys on a single keyring with little clasps for other stuff I carry around, which is more keys or a multitool.
I should probably get a carabiner so that I don't have to keep them in my pocket all the time. It would be nice to carry a phone around without a case for once.
>>
>>18103677
>optimal difficulty of access for owner
>optimal ease of access for thief
optimal indeed
>>
>>18110401
operating a carabiner is not difficult, if you think it is you are probably a retard with disabilities
pickpockets are a meme or you just live in mumbai or something
>>
>>18104232
>less bulk in your pockets
are you carrying the keys to every door in your neighbourhood?
>prevents scratches on your phone or if you have a nice leather wallet
Keys, phone and wallet in separate pockets
>more difficult to lose/forget your keys since you would visually notice them gone
You won't visually notice them if they're out of visual range behind you like in ops pic
> top of the locking mechanism of a carabiner being more secure than loose keys in a pocket which can be prone to slipping out while sitting down
Locking mechanism makes them less readily accessible, I lead a very active lifestyle and never once have keys fallen out of my back pocket.
>>18104563
>the weight and bulk of all those items will have my pants sagging down and bulging out.
The weight? How weak are you? Secondly how tight and flimsy are your pants that an average wallet, phone, keys and pocket knife would cause massive bulges and sagging? Are you carrying a couple of grand in 20's? A Bowie Knife?
>>
>>18107391
I like to fold up some money and put it in the fifth pocket.
>>
>>18110403
>operating a carabiner is not difficult
It is obviously it is more difficult than reaching into your pocket. Also, every big city in the western world has pickpockets.
>>
>>18110420
anon the degrees of difficulty you are describing are so minimal literally only an actual downy would notice the increase in dexterity required
joggers aren't snatching keys off your belt, they just smash a window.
>>

/based/ but I wish they would make that size in stainless.
>>
>>18103662
The most /fa/ carabiner is the rope side one that you got from ripping apart your quickdraws after they been have worn out by you.
>>
>>18110420
maybe if you look like a total mark i guess. only ever had pickpocketing attempts at concerts/music festivals/fairs/shit like that. even then its really died off ever since apple made it hard to resell stolen iphones.
>>
actually come to think of it i havent even heard of someone getting pickpocketed ever since apple pay and whatever google's equivalent to it came out. do people even carry valuables on them in the city anymore? lol?
>>
>>18108269
I want to see your keys on it.
>>
>>18110506
you are the retard. operating a carabiner is not difficult for non SPEDs. you however, are a tard
>>
