Well, the US flag is quite obvious

West Virginia gained statehood on 20 June 1863, carved into the rock on our state flag. The flowers are Rhododendrons, our state flower. The miner and farmer represent agriculture and industry (especially mining, which was very big here and still is to an extent), and the crossing rifles represent our history in the War Between the States (American Civil War). Many West Virginians volunteered to fight for the Confederacy (~23K), while others volunteered to fight for the Union (~20K, but this number included out-of-staters from Ohio and PA included in West Virginian regiments).

Here's a photo of the New River Gorge Bridge, which is on the reverse of the West Virginian 25 cent coin.

Depends, in the first few days they said it fell in Castro Daire (nearby shitter) but then the Proteção Civil (something above the firemen) said they couldn't find anything.
Now i hear they think it fell on sea, don't know anything else.

did you try? it's not easy to see something like that, you have to be in a dark place with the northern horizon completely unobstructed, and wait potentially all night for 10 minutes of event.
I was in Oristano at the time and after sunset i waited 1 hour in a field seeing nothing, then the aurora suddenly appeared for like 10 minutes, and then it disappeared as quickly as it came

An endless line of trucks waiting to get into Ukraine in Medyka, where the busiest border crossing between Poland and Ukraine is located. Medyka-Shehyni also the only border crossing between Poland and Ukraine that is open to pedestrians and cyclists.

ok i dug deeper into the rabbit hole, i was wrong in >>197864183 and initially right. i found the original calculation for the Narni centerpoint http://www.pontecardona.it/FILE%20UNICO.pdf and it is the average coordinate of Italy without the islands, not even of the Italian peninsula. neither that or the point in Rome are the centroid, which i'm not sure has been calculated yet? (!)
The furthest point from borders on average is near Orvieto, while Rieti is traditionally considered the most central city since Roman times but not because of geographical calculations. There's a claim for Spoleto but idk the criteria used for it.

Halych hromada

The historical region of Galicia derives its name from this town. Not to be confused with the region in Spain.
I met a Ukrainian cyclist here who was quite interested in what I was doing but communication was difficult. I asked him if the direct road connection between Halych and Monastyryska was okay. He didn't know so he assumed it must be horrible. It was. A detour of 30km on actual roads would probably have been faster.

There's a lot of interesting towns with Jewish heritage in the region North of the Dniester river. Chortkiv is one of them. Buchach, Husyatin, Vinkivtsi and Bar are coomfy too. Perhaps the nicest region of Ukraine outside the Black Sea and the Carpathians. The area is tremendously hilly though, at least when crossing it on an East-West axis.
