Firstly there no point in talking about the roster because the game is entirely unplayable, so it's roster may as well be 0 now. Secondly they exist in completely different markets. GB4 is a one and done $60 purchase with a season pass, when GBM came out it had easily the most barebones roster of any of the games, even compared to GB1. But it's business model was geared towards people logging in daily and throwing money into the gacha repetitively, so it had to add in new suits weekly to keep people paying and playing which is obviously why it had the largest roster. Considering the way loot boxes are demonized in console and pc gaming, if GB4 adopted the GBM business model it would be crucified right off the bat.

And how many you were willing to pay for. The only part of the game I actually miss is the battle circuit because limiting what parts you could use and forcing you to adapt was a very fun mechanic.
Why does Seravee get shafted so hard, anyway? Not just here, but in general. It hasn't even been in the Gundam VS series before, has it? Feels like Shin Gundam Musou is the only time it's been playable in an action game.

Whereas 00, cherudim and arios all diversified there load outs to fit better into CQC and ranged. Seravee did try to fight in CQC but it's clunkiness just makes that more awkward than anything so I think it's more that game designers just struggle to differentiate to two from each other.
