At this point, it's cheaper to tool the separate part that can be molded in the same color instead of putting a paint app on it. This is the very reason why the Vulcan body has the separate 'sleeve' over the bottom of the forearm that is molded separately and slides on. It saves them money for figures that have different colored gloves so they mold that lower forearm piece in the final color rather than needing a paint app there.

Looking at this particular iteration of Venom's logo, you are right in your assessment that being able to turn the waste in some fashion would solve this issue. The only problem I have with ball jointed wastes is that it leads to an even worse diaper situation. On figures like, Wolverine, or Cyclops, it isn't as much a problem since they wear underwear on the outside, but for a design like Venom, if not done well, it can look bad. I'm not saying that it can't be done well, see Mafex, but I don't know if Hasbro can pull it off well. GI Joe's already have a diaper problem imo and it's less noticeable on the baggier military style pants they wear than skin tight costumes. I'd have to see how they implement it tbqh. Also, I assumed that the Spider logo extended past his waste joint like a lot of versions tend to as well, I didn't look that closely at the figure.
