Ok rereading New X-Men right now and really want a whole we've dedicated to them, everyone in their leather outfits, Xorn, Glob, Beak. Early 2000s was such a wild time.
>>
>>10977928
Fuck off spammer
>>
>>10977981
Once they've wrung the 90's nostalgia dry maybe we'll get to the 2000's
>>
>>10977996
They already kinda are delving into that era. We're getting the Astonishing team, Iron Men from that era, stuff like Bucky Cap. It's only a matter of time. The only question is are they going to try and adapt Quietly's art style?
>>
>>10977981
I feel bad for a lot of the "new generation" students from that time, they've been around for over 20 years at this point and most of them are still stuck being treated like kids.
>>
>>10978010
If they're even acknowledged at all anymore. When was the last time you saw Beak or Angel? Hell, remember when Pixie was everywhere for a while?
>>
>>10978062
I think Pixie was still a part of one of the Krakoan teams but I completely lost track of that whole storyline like 3 years ago

Xorn has a figure right? Anyway, i remember getting a few issues of nex xmen while on vacation with my family, really sucked me back into comics.

>So is this just the retro card ghost rider with a bike?
No, all new GR, only things I believe sre reused is the head and the whip.

An old ToyBiz one yes, but he needs an update. That whole era is so interesting. So glad I scored the Omnibus for it back when I did.

I don't know if it's been discussed but these boxes are the new standard for marvel legends, classified and black series.
>>
>>10978182
Honestly, I dig them. They look good and really show off the toy.
>>
>>10978182
They're boring as fuck. But that's fine, shows off the toy, that's good enough. It's trash afterwards.
>>
>>10978182
Source? I don't see how that's possible unless they completely do away with BAF waves. Most BAF parts won't fit in those boxes. Maybe those slim boxes will be used for all the specialty waves going forward, but those specialty releases already used smaller slimmer boxes.
>>
>>10978244
The design will be the same, not the box size.
>>
>>10978182
Eh, at least the toy can be seen.
>>
>>10978258
So they're just cutting out custom art and renders to save a few more bucks?
>>
>>10978292
It's more about the plastic window change due to the windowless package backlash.
>>
>>10977490
I don’t know why but I started thinking about how would a legends Armor figure work. Would it be a baf for the standalone figure to be put inside, or would it be clip on/attachable parts?

I'm not really mad at it as I have never assembled a baf from Hasbro and I doubt I ever will. They're just a tactic to try to get me to buy extra figures I don't want to form a figure I don't want. I have a good bit of useless baf pieces lying around that came with where I wanted the figure.
>>
>>10978649
They're not going to do that, you're being an idiot.
>>
>>10978671

I fucking hate that toy collecting attracts so many mentally ill people.
>>
>>10978295
Plastic windows came back ages ago. Why to ppl here keep acting like this is our first wave with plastic windows back?
>>
>>10978726
I think it's more people pointing out Hasbro overcorrecting for such a shit idea. I think when they redesigned the package, they went out of their way to make the window as big as possible, due to the windowless outcry.
>>
>>10978683
You really are a dumb faggot
>>
>>10978740
They didnt do that on transformers. Also I notice Mattel has made the windows smaller on their masterverse. It's like all these huge companies get the same ideas in their head and just do them a bit differently--some more extreme than others.
>>
>>10978753
Probably because <Ls are easier to part swap and stuff. I know there were some issues with stolen heads on TFs, I can only imagine how bad it would be with how easy it is to pop an ML's head off.

Target has gotten so bad that it makes using Walmart appealing. Sucks that Warbird is a Target Exclusive, but that's my personal favorite version of Carol so I'll play ball, but I won't fucking like it.

If I'm getting more accessories and better distribution/character selection, then I'm all for getting rid of the BaF model. It kind of sucks tbqh. I think they'd be a lot more successful selling BaFs as Deluxes instead. Like Zabu for instance, I totally would've purchased a Deluxe 2 pack with him and Kazar for like $60. Instead, I'm skipping Kazar's single release completely and forgoing even trying to complete Zabu.
>>
>>10978956
>If I'm getting more accessories and better distribution/character selection, then I'm all for getting rid of the BaF model
figures without BAF pieces already exist and usually don't have more accessories or any additional value at all.
>>
>>10978960

>Looks like a starting point for a 6-inch He-Man.
Masterverse Revelations He-Man is pretty much a ML figure, but he is 7in. The right one is the Savage Version, I thought about making him into a custom Kazaar not a long time ago but as you can see he is a full head taller than regular ML. But as He-Man it's fine since wiki puts him between 6'7'' and 7' tall.

>>
>>10979213
Annoying era of mixed pins/less aesthetics. Waves, multi-packs & even on the same figs (Cable, Logan, etc.) It's humorous when they spiel a "fully pinless" figure but just don't really acknowledge it or say "the mold was in-use for someone else!" when it ain't. So many of those landfill MCU waves had unique pinless sculpts for every character.
>>
>>10979515
because they're fucking stupid. they blew money on an extra paint app doing it that way.
>>
>>10979390
???
I buy plenty of figures in different scales from various lines. No need to be act like a monumental faggot just because I asked for a simple headswap. I was even thinking of fudging it with my Masterverse collection if it looked good enough, scale be damned.

>>10979735
are you suggesting these heads don't accurately display Logan's character? especially in a 2-pack with his archenemy?
>>
>>10979746
I mean, in the context of the accessories that Logan came with, the smiling head does work. I mean, I've been meaning to take a pic of Wolvie, Cap, Thing, Spider-Man and Hulk playing cards together. I know in the context of Logan vs Sabertooth, it doesn't really make sense but I can see what they were going for. They've already released numerous yelling or scowling Logan heads, I have all three of the recent new ones as well as the 97 head, so I cam get that they were going for something different with his cowboy look. Is it annoying? Sure. But are there plenty of other options if you've been collecting for a while? Yes. And before you whine that you need to buy whole new figures just for the head, the figures the other heads came with all hit clearance for sub $10. If you're not willing to pay $8 for a pair of heads, then I don't know what to tell you.
>>
>>10979752

Do you guys think we will get a pinless Thor with an angry face and the spinning hammer effect?
>>
>>10979767
You can rest safely knowing hasbro will attempt to milk everyone’s most iconic costumes again with pinless joints, yes.
>>
>>10979767
Glad that I don't care about pinless enough on 99% of characters. If you are willing to upgrade your whole collection just for pinless, you need help.
>>
>>10979564
They didn’t actually, you can see the flared tops of the boots actually plug into if you zoom in enough. I have no idea why they made it this way since they actually had to make two new pieces of tooling either way, sometimes it feels like they make really amateur mistakes.
>>
>>10979767
>>10979767
Pinless joints are sturdier and less prone to warping. Plus there's face printing, harder plastic for the helmet wings, a cleaner boot cut, cloth cape, effect parts. There are a lot of potential upgrades they could do.
>>
>>10979774
Not enough for me to upgrade from the 80th. I skipped the Mafex, I'll be hard pressed to need another ML of Thor, at least in his classic look.

>>
>>10979515
>>10979564
Come on guys, use your brain. You can't have the boot top be a separate piece and rotate around the flesh colored thigh without having a massive gap between there. The shape of the thigh there simply can't be made to rotate like you all are asking while flush against the leg.

>>10979773
>I have no idea why they made it this way since they actually had to make two new pieces
They've been doing this exact thing for a few years now. At this point, it's cheaper to tool the separate part that can be molded in the same color instead of putting a paint app on it. This is the very reason why the Vulcan body has the separate 'sleeve' over the bottom of the forearm that is molded separately and slides on. It saves them money for figures that have different colored gloves so they mold that lower forearm piece in the final color rather than needing a paint app there.
>>
>>10979799
I like how you omitted Hot Claws and retro carded Wolverine, both of which include the heads you care about.
>>
>>10979819
So the solution is a cut through the boot hat breaks up the musculature in a very obvious way? They make concessions with the anatomy all the time, just make the thigh and boot a little more cylindrical to minimize the gap
>>
>>10979819
That’s what I’m saying though, I get making two pieces to minimize paint as we can see everywhere in the line they are trying to avoid it wherever they can… but why make the two pieces the way they did? It’s illogical. >>10979834
Has the right idea.

What fig are you waiting for? There's been some nice ones coming out, and I'm still on the fence on grabbing the new Cable for my MvC2 collection. I'll probably grab him if I see him in the wild. For what I hope we get down the line is a new Anti-Venom that looks good. I know it's not exactly on point to the design but I'd rather it be on the movie Venom body over the Vulcan.

I decided against the MvC Cable, it just feels too low-effort to me. Plus I'm sure we'll get a 97 based one in the next wave or two.

Something being overpriced is not subjective. Half the figure is unpainted, preexisting parts from over 5 years ago. And again, having no standards for the shit you spend money on isn't something to brag about
>>
>>10981185
yes, double ball jointed torso akin to the gi joe classified line. it's not a drag and drop solution to the basic articulation scheme of legends but with some minimal effort on hasbro's side (by realizing they have a clear upgrade being utilized by another sibling line under the same company) they could adapt it and make their super heros line even more dynamic and articulated. gi joes of all vocation can pose better than most super heros due solely to their articulation setup and engineering. i could go on at risk of letting the tism out of the box

well, the new retooled omega red torso doesn't have a waist swivel, which means the lower part of the ab crunch still has the bottom/butt of the spider logo attached. leaning to the left and right is alright, but turning the top diaphragm joint to the left or right at all breaks the spider entirely. if they decided instead to implement a double ball joint articulation scheme, which has better articulation than their half n half solution the waist would still be able to turn, and the abs and butt of the spider logo would be able to turn with the motion of the top ball and keep the spider together. it's hard to illustrate posing a toy through words, i hope you can picture what im trying to get across

>>
>>10981231
No I do follow what you're saying. Looking at this particular iteration of Venom's logo, you are right in your assessment that being able to turn the waste in some fashion would solve this issue. The only problem I have with ball jointed wastes is that it leads to an even worse diaper situation. On figures like, Wolverine, or Cyclops, it isn't as much a problem since they wear underwear on the outside, but for a design like Venom, if not done well, it can look bad. I'm not saying that it can't be done well, see Mafex, but I don't know if Hasbro can pull it off well. GI Joe's already have a diaper problem imo and it's less noticeable on the baggier military style pants they wear than skin tight costumes. I'd have to see how they implement it tbqh. Also, I assumed that the Spider logo extended past his waste joint like a lot of versions tend to as well, I didn't look that closely at the figure.
>>
>>10981238
So quick for confrontation anon. That says a lot about your personality, I wasn't even being hostile. Maybe you should seek counseling.
>>

>GI Joe's already have a diaper problem imo
yeah, a few of them that have a notable diaper when the plain "buck" figure isn't armed with gear or anything. for some super hero types it could work, but i think the diaper look is owed to their engineering method for the drop down hips. they account some extra space inside the softer plastic diaper for the legs to hike up when kneeling or whatnot. there's a harder plastic shell on the inside of joe waists that contains the actual leg joints, which i can see being tinkered and tooled with to accommodate MLs.

really unfortunate that ML team is so far up their own asses in terms of greed and corner cutting products when in reality if they as toy producers realized what they can do with some basic innovation and updates and just a little bit of goodwill towards the future of action figure engineering they could really produce some great product that rivals mafex and shf in terms of articulation and posing

You are expecting way too much from a $25 mass market children's toy anon. I know that children don't actually buy these things, but that's what they're classified as to the companies that make them. There are other more high quality, collector grade options available for you at this point. I know they don't have the character selection that MLs do, but you can't have your cake and eat it too. Either choose to buy higher quality figures, or settle for the domestic stuff you get. I don't know why this is so hard.

Ahhhh jada toys, the bane of every HasBro’s existence, they can’t cope with the fact their marvel figures are dogshit and can be so much better (as proven by Jada), so they pretend Jada doesn’t even exist. Such humorous.
>>
>>10981298
Jada is creating all new sculpts, they're all from like a year or two ago. Of course they're going to have more modernized articulation than a line that's been around over 15 years. I get you want them to update articulation, and they are, but they're not going to immediately phase out all their old shit. That's just not how it works. Expecting otherwise is dumb.

And I'm sorry, but Jada toys aren't miles better than Hasbro toys. A slightly different articulation scheme doesn't make them automatically superior to everything Hasbro puts out. I've gotten a few Jada figures now, and they're pretty on par with MLs quality wise. The only thing they have going for them is a higher accessory count.

>>10981299
It's not like they haven't outright improved things ever, look at this Venom. It's the first big fig using this updated torso articulation.

>>
>>10981440
Jada aren't import tier but the fact their articulation surpasses Hasbro is silly considering how long each has been at the action figure game. Jada torsos and neck are what MLs should have been like for years now.
>>
>>10981550
I'd say the articulation on GI Joes are more on par with Jada than MLs, but once again that comes with the territory of it being a far newer line than ML. Do I wish they just restarted MLs with more up to date articulation? Sure, don't know how many you'd get me to rebuy for such marginal upgrades, but whatever. But the reality is the line has been around for a long time, and they're going to reuse shit in order to get out as many figures a year as they do. It would be stupid for them to cut out the lower tier characters to focus on just A listers because that's already what so many other companies do. Meanwhile, GI Joe has just as much reuse as ML, but the articulation is more modern because they're newer. Hell, I'd argue when you incorporate the recolors Jada is doing, they have just as much reuse too. I wonder how many times they're going to reuse that Mega Man body?

>>
>>10981642
It's probably a budgetary thing. Theyve done separate necks on figures in the past, as few and far between we theys are. As for the ball joint waste, it could be a parts count thing, I really don't know. Have we seen the back yet?
>>
>>10982547
Just the side. They painted the outer rim of the cheeks, but I guarantee you there isn't even a sculpted crack, just a mono cheek similar to what they do with breasts now.
>>
>>10982555
I'm honestly shocked we got the hips painted like that.

I guess. Same thing they did with Psylocke, who also had a bit of a diaper ass. Just looks wrong
>>
>>10982559
If anything I'll just grab a Kitty Pryde or Moonstone lower half and make the whole damn figure, i guess.
>>
>>10982564
Best of luck. I don't know if I'm willing to trade all the new articulation for it myself.
>>
>>10982555
Goddamn. Stop making up shit just to get mad at it. You don't even know what the ass looks like. Quit pearl clutching holy shit.

Goddamn. Stop being a faggot and wanting all female characters to lose every ounce of sex appeal
>>

That's not what I implied at all. Just that you have no clue what her ass looks like. Take your double digit IQ reading comprehension somewhere else.
>>
>>10982596
It's called inference, anon. We haven't gotten a well defined ass on a new sculpt in years.
>>
>>10982598
Making assumptions just makes and ass out of you and me. Oh wait, it's just you.

Isn't it relatively new?

The lower torso is reused from Moonstone. The upper chest is a newer modified piece that removes the defined breasts.

Uh, no it isn't...

Hasbro should honestly do what jada does, and sculpt the cheeks on the upper legs. It looks more natural and gives better range. I know storm from the 2 pack had something similar, but I guess they stopped for some reason?
