Any recs for yuri eigyou to real yuri type stories? Basically, yuri eigyou refers to how public persons (e.g. seiyuus, vtubers, idols) act gay with each other as 'fanservice'. I know there's that one volume story with 'yuri eigyou' in the title but I read that and the romance starts (?) way too late for me.

I feel you. The problem with friendship is when the author does not, in any way, describe a friendship relationship but they keep calling it friendship anyway, that's really annoying.
But if a series is literally advertised as "friendship story" I know I won't enjoy it. At least keep it vague and never address it so we can form our idea about it, but if they go out of their way to insist it's just friendship then they're closing the doors for any yuri interpretation.

The ones I've fully read, Adachi and Shimamura, and the Bloom into You spinoff, were fun, short reads that remind me of the trashy dollar-store romance novels of my youth, before Amazon came around and forced decision paralysis on that subgenre. Not much focused on yuri, the world setting is interesting though and I find the protagonist monologues funny, you have a morally ambiguous vengeance cycle involving the hero/demons and the protagonist has a very skeptic view of the world being an assassin of the church mostly used to kill people for political reasons. The yuusha gets attached to the protag but it`s more in an innocent, dog-like way, she has to hide from everyone that she is a girl so the protagonist is the first person her age she can open herself to. The protagonist gradually starts to care about the yuusha and feels guilty for lying to such an innocent and vulnerable girl, but again nothing sexual.
On volume two there is one scene they break into the saint's bedroom(the one on the cover >>4199971) after hearing screams and it was just her topping a nun and making her orgasm.. By the end of the volume the protagonist realizes she wants to be along the yuusha and tells her she wants to be the hero's bride, not the bride of god/the church..

And those series have multiple seasons because they have better demographic range, most yuri anime is only expected to target the yuri consumer.

I say surprise yuri because while it wasn't particularly new for an originally het harem series to get spinoffs focusing more on the female characters, none had ever gone the route of making a new cast and also making it yuri.

The volume starting with Aanya wondering what are the feelings she feels for Kohana was good. The school play was kind of like a filler. The confession and the kiss are very much appreciated even if it was so sudden.
Very good Akira and Shue's sex scene too.

is one hell of a way to start a chapter.
This part of the story was the best of the volume. Akira and Shue living as a family with Rion, thinking about what's good for Rion's growth, going on a double date, going together to the karaoke. It's so sad the way it developed with Shue being hired to kill Rion. Shue seeing Akira choosing Rion over her by pointing the gun to her. Akira having sex with the police woman and Shue having to accept that knowing she had to do it to win the police woman over by seducing and fucking her in one hour. The same police woman who shot both Shue and Rion out of jealousy. And Akira dying taking the bullet to save Rion.
There's no way Akira died. It's just like it always happens, they make you believe a character died but she was just hurt a bit and survived, you just have to wait until the author drops it. But you go on reading and they keep saying she is dead. I mean, they can say if she's breathing or not, if her heart is moving or not, so if they say she's dead it means she's dead for real? Then there is the time skip and still "Akira died that day" and you're left speechless, sad and also a bit angry because there was really no need to kill her off.
The part with the killer sent by Aanya's ex organization to kill her is something everyone was expecting since the first volume, it finally happened here and I have to say it was subpar. This character comes out from nowhere, the last fight starts immediately, she loses and simply decides to go back to tell the organization Aanya is dead so she can live freely. Meh.

And then there is the epilogue, in which we find out Kohana's two friends also went full gay with the two CIA girls. The author said he explained how two of them started dating in the melonbooks' booklet with volume 3, so good luck finding and reading it. Aanya and Kohana moving together to Tokyo is a very good ending but it wouldn't have hurt to tell more about it. Like, are they dating after the confession? At what step is their relationship? Questions left without an answer.
And then Akira is alive. Alone on some island. Like, didn't anybody wonder where her body ended up? Didn't anybody check and see she was still alive because the bullet didn't hit her that bad? It doesn't make sense. I'm happy she's alive but she made Rion cry and she disappeared because her relationships had become a mess. Then the CIA's lolicon brought Shue to her (why after all that time?) so they can stay together. It's another good end but not fully satisfying. The CIA's lolicon is also the only character left without a pair. Her crush for Asahi was simply abandoned.
And one last thing is the dissatisfaction of having to read, again, "it's not like I like girls, I fell in love with her and it just happened she was my same sex". At least Akira has always been openly gay.
In the end it was a good series but the author could have done more and better with it.

I'm sure I've already said it for the past volumes too but ShuuKura is really good because literally all of it is about the two of them, even when they're alone they do nothing but think about each other, without wasting time on plot points unrelated to them. I read volume 4 in one go and I need volume 5 now.
I was really scared by Miyagi decision at the end. If there's something I don't like about it is how they won't ever be honest with themselves, both of them, but Miyagi in particular. It doesn't really make sense at this point that she still won't admit her feelings and desires. If it wasn't for Sendai she would have really ended their relationship like that, despite she was crying at the idea of never meeting her ever again. Sendai really can't be thanked enough for her initiative, I was indeed wishing for them to live together but I didn't think it was possible for real with Miyagi's friend being there and all. I can't wait to read about them living together, hoping they won't just spend time separately in their own rooms.
But something that left me some fear for the future is their new agreement to be "roommate for four years". I think it was time for the confession but they're still not dating and I don't know if I'm in for four more years of them in this limbo and then Miyagi going full retard again after four years saying the agreement is over and they won't be seeing each other anymore like she wanted to do after the graduation. On the contrary I hope it will lead on a propose but their relationship needs to develop during those four years.
The illustrations were very disappointing, except for the colours ones, too many solo images.

It's much less clear to me what's going on in Sendai's head. Like, we almost had sex? Well it happens, puberty and hormones and all that, it doesn't necessarily mean I feel anything for her. But asking Miyagi to live together for the next few years and not realizing that it means more than just lust is autistic beyond my comprehension.

Latest chapter ends with the eyepatch girl giving the MC a rose and tells her to meet her behind the gym and MC thinks it's a confession. Maybe it's misunderstanding and she was actually challenging to fight or something. However also pretty sure the eyepatch girl is the one having the MC grope her in that one color illustration.
