What is the best body for low-light stills that doesnt have IBIS, ie: the cleanest high-iso photos?

doesnt have to be "compact" but a d850 is too big for sure

So far my only two contenders are the xt3 and the z50

you know you can repair machines right? Worrying about thinks 10 years in the future isn't worth it. Image you drop the thing into water by accident in 2 years. You're going to feel really stupid for worrying then.

R8 is a good bet
Same sensor as the R6 Mk2, same processor and autofocus, compact
Downside is you're stuck with RF/EF lenses and no focus joystick. They're on sale right now.
>>
>>4314630

Op just look at each camera brand and if it’s sales are going up or down. This is the true indicator of who is making good cameras today. Therefore you are buying Fuji.
Also do not fall for people saying stuff like canon has 40% market share, that is just an indicator of canon being good in the past, falling sales for canon today shows they are making not as good cameras anymore.

have been getting really back into photography lately using my old Pen-1 Micro Camera but I have seen this little pinkish red dot appearing on every other photo I take and have no idea what it is or how it came about, I want to know if anyone has got any idea where or more importantly why this is happening?

also one thing to note is I didn't mess around with any of the configurations on the camera just the ISO, Aperture and Shutter Speed in later photos.

also another thing to note is there's now three of these little pinkish red dots on the photos.

Dead/ Stuck Pixel.

If its dead, its dead.

If its stuck, use the clean sensor function...this sometimes works....

To mitigate dead/ stuck pixels theres tonnes of things....remap...also, these sometimes only show up at high ISOs or during longs shoots, whent he sensor essentially overheats.

I have had this issue before-- the dead pixel eventually just went away.

If it stays, just remove it in post. Its easy enough.
>>
>>4312983
they're "hot" or "stuck" pixels.
what ISO are you shooting these at? they usually show up at "higher" sensitivities, though I've seen them as early as ISO 400 on my old D3x.
some raw processing software can just process them out by default so you never see them if you import the raws.

yeah that's what others have suggested so whenever I'm out shooting again I'll try that one out and see if it makes any difference

Do zoomers care about CCD videography? I have some old VHS video cameras I restored that have 1/2" CCD sensors inside and they look great if you bypass the tape and export the raw video right to a capture card.
I've been trying to market myself to zoomers who want the VHS effect but nobody is biting .

These are really cool. It's disappointing no one wanted to hire you. How do you record directly to a capture card on these? I assume there is a cable for direct TV out, is someone making retrofit units to take SD cards that you plug in from the external out port?

I really don't think you get the point of M43. I use my EM-1 Mark II I got for dirt cheap for action sports photography in the rain, snow and mud. I've had the camera buried in snow for an hour, I've had it so caked in mud it could be passed off as a brick but it has never failed. And I can just clip it onto my backpack and drop a cliff on skis and not worry about it at all. It's the perfect travel platform. Light, small and the weather sealing is top notch. You wouldn't catch me lugging around a full frame Sony that costs double the price is heavier and isn't as durable. I wouldn't bring the Oly if I wanted to get some shots at night or if I wanted to take a portrait with a strong depth of field. Every platform has it's purpose.

Only shitty cameras are iso invariant (like m43 and canon). All it really means is 'a camera that doesn't have a dual native iso'. It's marketing speak to make a negative sound like a positive and is there to trick retards. In this scenario (you)

While most phones are perfectly good enough for snapshots, I do think there should be more compacts.

My iPhone 12 mini *can* take very good photos (pic rel) but I hate it so so much that it's using a wide angle lens and not a normal one. Some cases I don't mind it being wide but the distortion really grinds my fucking gears in others. And the ultra wide is a joke... what's the point if it only takes grainy ass pictures literally worse than some of my 20 year old digital cameras? And then having to adjust the exposure almost every fucking time to at least get a decent shot...

ITT: Post a picture, tell a story about it.

This was taken in Busan, South Korea. It's hard to see, but it was drizzling a bit at the time, and a few minutes later, it was pouring rain. I didn't bring an umbrella, and I was completely lost. I stopped under an awning outside of a restaurant to use my phone, and a Korean guy (maybe in his 40s) who happened to be driving by at the time stopped his car, got out, handed me an umbrella, got back in his car, and drove off, all without saying a single word. I tried to politely refuse (I actually like the rain), but he wouldn't take his umbrella back.

It was a nice lovely day outside after the rain. A rose came up after pollen has fallen on it from Spring. In a pot in my backyard I saw a rose. The rose had a nice beauty to it I'd like to share with the world. As a result, I ran inside to grab my Canon T2i with an Edmika Mount 35-105mm Canon FD lens on my T2i. Going to the cloudy white balance setting since it was Cloudy I set my camera to 400 ISO with an F/stop of F/11. I focused in the flower at the macro setting of the lens, making sure I didn't mess up. On the computer I went into Gimp editing it a bit. Afterwards it's here now.

You hit the jackpot mate
Those bottom two are VERY good. Keep them. Use them. Enjoy them. Just shoot raw, learn the exposure triangle, and have fun. I wouldn't change much but get a dx 35mm f1.8 or 24mm f2.8 D for the nikon.

t. has $4500 in camera gear and would still shoot with those for non-client stuff

Not bad, could make a few hundred QUICK selling them on your local classifieds

The mju I alone is worth $180 on eBay.

Fellow /p/ros. Help me pick a nice 00s camcoder for my girlfriend. Something 480i capable that records to HDD or SD card with an easy USB transfer capability.
No DVD no tapes no FireWire. Obscure video formats are ok as long as ffmpeg can digest it. Remember this is for a girl.
Must be "aesthetic" too if possible.

So far I like the JVC GZ-MG130E

to be really honest, youre just describing early consumer solid state camcorders from the late 00s, if they use SD cards the majority of them will do exactly that. The balance though is you probably want a better lens and bitrate then the sub $200 market was offering back then. Even then, they likely shot progressive video to SD cards

Besides, isnt the archaic physical format a part of the experience with using an old camcorder? You shouldnt be dumbing it down for her, im sure she can understand disc finalisation and burning. She can also use DV cams from the early 2000s too if she has a Mac since they still had inbuilt firewire support up until a few years ago, and she can fuck around with dubbing and get that true interlaced video quality when subjects move in the frame.

But if you want to ignore all of this, im pretty sure HDD handycams running AVCHD (an interlaced format) from the early 2010s had an LP mode where they recorded down to 720 or 480 video. I used a Sony HDR SR12 120gb HDD handycam a few years ago i picked up for $30 and havent used it in a while but it felt pretty cool busting it out, i put on a pistol grip and a wide angle lens adaptor so its handling was like an older camera especially with the viewfinder and it was funny to just walk around and shoot shit with my friends.

Whats good about those models too and maybe others in the Sony HDD range at the time was they used ZIF connectors for their hard drives, so if the drive ever dies you can easily get a SSD used for by Ipod modders to replace it and they supposedly work perfectly and are pretty cheap. All while giving you that shitty diamond shaped iris bokeh, the tiny sensor, and the fun zooms

I hope Im proven wrong, I think I'm like of the very few who have true dedication to a camera. I have used a T2i for 12 years as my main camera. I have true dedication to the idea of not letting a camera rot. Hopefully OP's girlfriend doesn't let the thing collect dust overtime.

What is a good one? I've had this case for damn near 20 years and I don't see a reason to upgrade. It's vintage, and chicks dig it.

fellas I'm about to buy a shimoda backpack, am I making a mistake or nah
>>
Idk anon. I think you might be better served by a Thinktank Airport. It’s more of a traditional camera case, you can wheel it, you can also take out backpack straps and wear it, and it has a rain fly and laptop sleeve. It’s pretty perfect.

i was thinking to get into photography, and saw this on marketplace

what do you think about this one, is it good to start making pictures of whatever i like? any tips?

Its not about how good the photos are but how 35mm film is just worse digital for artistically blind chumps who cant color grade.
>>
>>4314837
Hey at least 4x5 does something special that digital cant even try to imitate without a $3000 lens that makes view cameras look portable
35mm film is not much different from shoving a 1gb CF card in a 12mp ccd dslr unless you’re an autist who likes sniffing vinegar
