Set your resolution to 1024x1024 (or whatever you GPU can handle) steps to whatever you like (20 is good honestly) For denoise you want anywhere from .25 to .75, anything higher or lower and you'll get radically different things or nothing at all. .5 and .6 are good for solid changes to your masked area but still keeping the base image intact. .4 and .3 are great to refine an already good spot, and .75 is when you really need to change something.Then just prompt for what you want in your masked area. If it's hands you can prompt "hand" but fingernails or nail polish are great prompts as well to get the ai to refine the hands better. My robot dragons use "black claws" as their cheater prompt to get better hands. Don't add a ton of prompts either, keep it simple. You also don't need score tags or negative prompts for inpainting unless you really find something croping up you want to nip in the butt.Just run a batch of 8 and pick the best. You can also cycle inpainting images back to inpaint again for more clarity or refinement. Just don't forget to reset the target resolution each time you send an image to img2img.
