My wife managed to lose and run over the gas filler cap (don't ask me).
I've got an older model and I can't find a replacement from the manufacturer.
I closed it ot off with aluminum foil for now in hopes that all the gas doesn't evaporate, but i need a longer term solution.

thats incredibly dumb or careless. Or both.
Surely its all about the same though. Maybe try a big piece of cork that you stuff into the hole.

>I can't find a replacement from the manufacturer.
you aren't trying.

I can go down to ace hardware and find gas caps for lawn equipment from the 60's.

ebay

amazon

google

you aren't even trying.

Ok, I'll look some more.
>>

^This. Ebay has the best photos.

most gas caps for mowers from the same brand motors (usually Briggs & Stratton or Honda) are the same size

https://www.homedepot.com/p/Briggs-Stratton-Fuel-Cap-for-Tier-III-Engines-450-725-E-and-EX-Series-Vertical-Shaft-Engines-5436/203644125
>>
>>2798663
if you have calipers you can just measure the size before you buy anything at the store
>>
>>2798798
This. The gas caps don’t change much at all. Google it until you find a Briggs mower with the same general configuration on engine parts and it’s very likely the same cap. Hell, Ace Hardware will probably have one for a Briggs engine unless it’s ancient.
>>
OP faggot…lets see a picture of the motor
Sad bait right here

>>2798799
Eye roll…dumbass
>>
Just say what engine it is dick lips
>>
Just use an appropriately sized cork cap
>>
Go where you bought that one and tell them the cap was missing out of the box when you were putting it together

Or just steal one off a display model

That is a maytag 1922 mower model 14ks
Very rare and valuable
>>
>>2798936
the jew fears the antique mower enthusiast
>>
>>2798936
that's the most common cap available in almost any place that sells mower parts.
>>
>>2798936
measure the outside edge of where the gas cap goes, not the threads though.
>>
>>2798936
locate the model number on the mower, it should be stamped somewhere on the cover the pull starter is attached to. post the numbers.
>>
>>2798936
Use the cap off a large can of PVC cement
>>
No im sorry it isnt common at all.
My old one is metal everything is plastic now
I measured but the threads cross wrong
Im sorry I thought maybe somebody here could save me. Thanks for trying fellas
My wife is in the dog house. This mower was my dads

Is that for his wife or his lawnmower?
>>
>>2798969
Your wife is retarded.

> but it doesn't have a hole
Make one.

> but it doesn't have a gasket
sheet of cork, cut one.
>>
Also, there's nothing worse than women for abusing lawn equipment. Either they can't get it to run (gas) or they use it to abuse the hell out of it and everything else (electric).

NEVER loan your tools to a woman unless she wears flannel and looks like a frumpy trucker.

You had a special bond w your grandpappy, and now you broke it.
>>
>>2798936
I know where you can find a cap OP. If that's really your mower and not a pic from the internet, then the cap can be located as indicated. You are welcome, nice bait.
