We had questions about sneakers for wide feet few threads ago. I got Air Forces for myself, and I noticed the soles take quite some room, so I’m going to replace them with flat standard ones.

as someone with wide feet, i find my air forces to be pretty roomy after removing the insole (as i do with all my shoes). you don't need to replace it if you need more room.

What are sneakers made in US, EU, Japan? I recently learned of these nippon sneakers and might buy a pair
>>
>>18109779
why? they just look like chucks just buy chucks if you buy those people will think you are too poor to buy even $30 chucks and you will have spent like 4X the money to look poor
makes no sense bro
>>
>>18109592
heres my wide sizing shoes pasta
!! BE AWARE MANY SHOES ADVERTISED AS WIDE SIZE ONLY HAVE A LARGER UPPER, THEY'RE NOT ACTUALLY WIDE, THE LAST IS THE SAME AS THE NARROW/NORMAL SIZES!!

>new balance (only the $200 flagship made in usa models)
>some sketchers
>some vans (online only)
>some hiking shoes like altras, keens, etc
>running shoes
>orthodic dadshoes meant for morbidly obese people. the biggest company making them is headquartered next door to the doctor from my 600lb life.
>>
>>18109866
chucks retail for 65 and chuck 70s for 75.
shoes like pottery/moonstar is significantly higher quality. the canvas is much thicker. the vulcanization is much better. the tape doesn't delaminate from the upper like on chucks. they will age better, last longer, and you will get more wears out of them. for the tiny price difference its a no brainer. chuck taylor sells a similar quality shoe called converse addict. it costs more than shoes like pottery.
>but it looks somewhat similar
>with none of the substance behind it
pure poorfaggery. its like renting rims.

>ONLY HAVE A LARGER UPPER
That goes a long way. For wider soles, a good rule of thumb is that most sneakers with higher soles got them, like Air Forces, Uptempos, Fila Disruptors, etc.
>>
>>18109779
New Balance's 990 line is probably the most famous example, but there's also Victory Sportswear, San Antonio Shoes and select Sperrys as well

i literally cannot afford to buy shoes
How are those $130? Gazelles are even more expensive
And literally nothing's ever on sale
Women's equivalent costs $90?? I could maybe pay like $100 but this is retarded, and it's not just these two, you literally cannot buy anything for $100 except shit like pumas and some failed color style poverty versions on sale
>>
>>18112019
Uh yes you can, just smoke less cigarettes and mcdonalds for a week, even if you make a 30k a year it should he fine
Or if you are a third worlder then walk down to the nearest market and buy the same shoe for five pesos
>>
>>18112025
im europoor but that's no relevant
I don't work, I'm a student and I _have_ the money it's just outside of my budget
I can buy so much shit for $130 that i cannot justify it. If i could wear them for more than a year before they disintegrate I'd maybe reconsider, but holy fuck
i checked and air force 1s wet up $30 since 2020

NTA but theyre definitely not, they’re incredibly normie. Theyre even more played out than dunks/jordans, some dunks you can still use, 550s youll be laughed at your back. DO NOT use 550s in 2024.

>Those definitely look like a pair of sneakers
I was asking for opinion anon ):<

but they seem to be the going rate for AF1s in my shithole post-national state, $160 cad
>>
>>18112380
sorry for being facetious. But AF1's don't exactly have very much to talk about. They're just a pair of white sneakers
They look fine, $160 cad sounds a lot for a pair of those when regular ones without a tiny red checkmark are like $60 less
If you want them and it's not an issue, then yeah you should probably get and I doubt you'd regret it, as they're not something you'd have trouble incorporating into most outfits you'll likely piece together
have fun
I like them
>>
>>18112390
Thanks anon, all is forgiven. I appreciate the well thought out response.

Where do you live where AF1s are $100? US im guessing?
>>
>>18112734
>Where do you live where AF1s are $100? US im guessing?
The unpopular colorways are always on sale somewhere, check on lyst for instance or any nike outlet

Even the triple whites get discounted sometimes
>>
i'm starting to come to the conclusion that sneakers just suck ass and are a normie trap.
i think i might finally buy a pair of boots and become one of those fags.

>comically low quality materials is the norm
>overpriced resellers ruin all the joy in the cool looking ones
>wind up with like 30 pairs to go with various outfits because dork colors
>fall apart fast when you wear them
>not cheap anymore
>seen as aspirational status symbols to chinese and indian immigrants
>theres no difference in quality between a $30 one and a $30,000 one
>associated with blacks, urban culture, basketball, rap, etc
>SPORTS
>inherently childish looking
>nobody takes you serious while wearing them
>women see them as virginal

am i wrong about sneakers? i don't think so...
my collection feels like a wall of shame right now...

af1s that arent the triple whites are dork shoes even 3rd graders would bully you for the ones you posted when they came out
lol its so funny that this is a 'popular' shoe now they're just cycling through the stuff they used to sell at pay less shoe source in the 90s and making them tiktok trends. bahahaha you kids were wearing sambas last year? and 550s? hahahaha

No it’s not, just this general has a lot of people projecting their taste

AF1s are great as a first “real” sneaker for autists who are afraid of standing out too much. It’s a safe option, easy to style etc

1906s were the shoe New Balance was pushing last year and the 1000 is the shoe for this year. If you wanna be on trend as backed by the labels, those are the shoes.

however the 998, 990 and the 574 are all potential good, but not as "trendy" options

Any recommendations for shoes that actually dont look big even in big sizes. I hate wearing big shoes even though my feet are big (size 12 US) because its highlighted by the fact that I'm only 5'7. Wasnt even an insecurity of mine until a friend made a joke about it once. I bought adidas ZX22s cuz someone posted them here once and they looked decent, but they are way too big and I will never wear them just for that reason. Help an anon out.

Clearly, they got a massive sole with that extra length on the heels, they are designed to stand out. As for looks, you'd need something like Sambas, Stan Smiths, summer canvas sneakers, plimsoles, vans. But these fit differently, I don't know whether you also got wide feet. However, the soles and the shape are not the only factors for standing out, the colour is, too, e. g. white sneakers on a dark outfit.

No you can’t turn nubuck into full grain or top grain leather you’re best option is to blast it with waterproof spray coating
