>>61552359
Biggest concern with the PIMP i see (haven't used it personally) is that everything is shoved inside a single elastic band, so grabbing what you need is gonna be a bitch without spilling it all on the ground. And at that price, I'd say just get a STOMP gen 2 or even a fanny IFAK. If you absolutely need to hide your shears, just fold them and put them into a pocket

American made tactical gear produced with the proper materials is expensive, dude. I don't know what to tell you. Smaller companies charge just as much because it's usually one or two guys making the products. Larger companies like Spiritus and Crye have a lot demand and have no reason to charge less. Stuff made in places like Europe and Australia isn't any cheaper.

Does anyone have a good zip on panel that can hold something like a prc 163 while still interfacing with the assaulter back panel? The wing pouch under my cummerbund doesn’t really cut it because the radio has a wider top end that causes it to sit weird and jab the fuck out of me. Thinking about getting the ferro hydration pack and throwing it in there but if someone has other suggestions that are more purpose built, let me know.

Does it come with a low mount? I looked at the product on their website and it claimed it came with one but there are no pictures of it and the user manual doesn't say anything about one. I apologize if this is a dumb question, I just want to spend money on the right thing.

>>
>>61557994
He's not wrong though. The Spiritus fanny pack is one of the more affordable options on the market. Even super small gear makers like Ex Umbris and Head On Tactical sell their fanny packs for $80+. You think all these gear companies pulled $80+ for a fanny pack out of their asses? If you wanted Chinese sweatshop pricing, you should've just bought a fanny pack off Amazon, or lurked GAFS until the opportunity to lowball a redditor presented itself.
>>
Do any of you guys happen to own both the Mystery Ranch 2 day and the 3 day CL? I’m having a hard time visualizing the size difference and there’s nowhere by me where I can put them both on. I’m tempted to just buy the 3 day and pack light/cinch it if I want it smaller.
>>
I want a QD scope mount for my DMR with the best return to zero possible - which should I buy?

The purpose is to have a LPVO and a higher magnification optic on hand and swap between them depending on the shooting challenge - with the LPVO for things like typical shooting matches, but putting on the higher magnification scope if I want to shoot smaller targets at longer ranges like plinking groundhogs at a dog-town

Looking for more critique on my current poorfag loadout.
Last time I posted I was given the following criticism
>reduce magazines on front from 6 to 3
>don’t have medical gear just hanging out freely
>get hydration carrier
What I’ve done since then:
Put together a small ifak for front pouch. Has a Tourniquet, gauze, bandages, an IR-resistant blanket, burn cream, antibiotic infection cream, and alchohol swabs. The front pocket has a multitool with medical scissors.
I’ve added a USGI surplus hydration carrier on the back with a 5L bladder, and I’ve added a side pouch with an IWI rifle maintenance kit.
Front plate is a Hesco 4400, rear plate is a Hesco level III standalone. They currently have kevlar iiia plates behind each as a trauma plate.
It’s not all very gucci, but I’m trying to be as “buy once cry once” as a poor can be lol.
I genuinely listen to criticism and try and improve based on it. Thanks bros
>>
>>61556548
Actually I'm a person who's used a tourniquet on a GSW on multiple occasions. What about you?

I can tell you just from looking at that picture that when you manage to actually rip that thing open on the fourth or fifth try the entire degraded ass windlass strap is coming off the body and you better hope the clip isn't so ratfucked by UV that it can hold without it.

And again I'm saying this because it's happened to me.

>>
>>61560100

>>61560100
It doesn't need to be NIR compliant to work good under NODs. Some prints and fabrics work just fine but obviously you need to test it.
https://pinesurvey.com/camouflage-and-night-vision-expectations-vs-reality-part-2/
>>
>>61559851
The whole thing was well under 10k. My whole setup including rifle and optic cost less than a good pair of NODs, I thought that was the cut off. It’s not exactly a richfag setup lmao
>>
>>61558398
I would like a medium sized, somewhat versatile bag. Firstly for STALKER shit where I won’t be out long enough (or am too close to civilization) to justify carrying my ALICE. Secondly for a trip I’m taking where I’m going to be back in forth between city and country and from what I understand these bags are on the larger end of what will fit below a plane seat.
>>
>>61558185
had both, just buy the 3dap it's better, it has the inner pockets and bladder pocket and the material feels better, the 2day is made more as a civilian EDC pack with a laptop sleeve for example, both are good and the 2dap is much cheaper but the 3dap is better imo
>>
>>61560100
Wtf I thought these guys just made BJJ shit
>>
>>61558971
Add double pack of vented chest seal and more gauze/combat gauze to your med kit. Throw another tourniquet some where two is better if one is being used its because you got lit up. You don't need a maintenance kit easily accessible it should be in the bag if anything but you really dont need to carry it keep it at your home base unless you arent going to be back for a long time. You arent carrying enough ammo to require a full clean. Put a mag where the cleaning kit was so you have 4 on your carrier and throw two into your battle belt or pants so you have 6 mags ready to go + 1 in your gun. Not sure why you put a level III plate on your back that was not a good move lvl IV all around. Besides that looking good Id throw a red dot on top of the acog since it has no 1x and most gun fights happen up close
>>
>>61558971
My only real criticism is that putting your radio antenna into that comms routing loop seems neater on paper but WILL break it eventually

If the antenna being there bothers you I'd look into a flexible antenna or a relocation kit to move it to your back.
>>
Should I just carry binoculars if my only optic is a red dot?
>>
>>61560157
What tubes do you have?

My bridged setup was like 5500 all in
>>
>>61551455
never seen that face mask before is that ballistic resistant? shit looks like masterchief from halo
>>
>>61560457
Shit yeah chest seal and a RDS piggybacking off the acog are both really good ideas. Ty anon. I had been trying to do the Binden Aiming Concept when doing drills, but just getting a red dot would be a lot easier
>>61560463
Good call. It’s good for now as it’s a cheap radio, but I’d definitely not want to do it with an expensive one.
Flexible antennas look cool as fuck. Any recommendations?

>Put together a small ifak for front pouch. Has a Tourniquet, gauze, bandages, an IR-resistant blanket, burn cream, antibiotic infection cream, and alchohol swabs. The front pocket has a multitool with medical scissors.
Some of this is boo-boo kit stuff. Your IFAK should just be trauma. Move the blanket, burn cream, and antibiotic cream to a GP pouch. Get a regular pair of shears, they don't have to be expensive. Turn your radio around so it faces in and get a different antenna. Your mags should be pointing the other direction unless you're left handed. The "trauma plate" isn't necessary if your plates are standalone.

>>61560494
you should carry them if you think you'll use them for observation.
>>
>>61560497
Oops got this thread and /nvg/ mixed up

Point still stands. Mid tier is probably around 3k, above that is just people flexing on each other because they can.

>NIJ Level 4 plates at $400
>Aimpojnt T2 at $800
>Rifle at $1500-2k
>$200 PC
>couple extra mags

This already puts you way ahead of the curve. Don't forget most people are running PSA ARs with airsoft level dots on them and AR500 plates. Instagram and /gq/ aren't real life.
>>
>>61560109
Why invest the man-hours when you can just ask randoms on the net
>>61560129
While passingly true, it’s still far better to have the full spectrum dye-job (done plenty of testing myself)

>>61560494
Worth the investment on a magnifier w/ qd mount if this is the case
>>
>>61560813
Mostly agree but mylar blanket in the IFAK is recommended, that's not booboo kit stuff. Hypothermia when you're in shock WILL kill your ass.

The H in "MARCH" stands for "hypothermia" and "head injury"
They weigh almost nothing and take up about as much space as a pack of gauze.
>>
>>61560636
https://www.galvion.com/collections/mandible-guards

whats the difference between the caiman and viper guards? the caimain has ballistic in the title but the description says it offers fragmentation protection and the viper doesnt say anything about being 9mm proof
>>
>>61560813
The magazines work better to reload that way as it’s a bullpup, but I’ll take that into consideration and try it the other way next time I’m out!
>>
>>61560912
This is why it’s in there. I live way way way up north. Very very helpful to have not just for myself but for anyone. I’ve (no joke) found half frozen hunters while just hiking trails up here. Hypothermia is scary shit. Usually your brain tells you you’re nice and toasty and should take off your clothes. Spooky.

>>
>>61562826
Depends on which ones you buy

Stuff like the Noveske Flaming Pig, Strela, or Bulgarian 4-piece are basically single-baffle suppressors. It's remarkable how well they work.

Ones that are basically just a trashcan you put on the edge of the muzzle are a waste of time and money.

buying from the amazon holosun store means its still coming from amazon and the biggest threat there is people swapping them with knock offs and returning them then it getting shipped back out to you

>>

>>
>>61571151
I'll take your word for it, tripgentleman
>>
>>61570987
Fair enough. Can you explain why? I’m not some fag who doubles down, I love learning why I’m wrong, and /k/ is a good board for that. I was always under the impression that muzzle devices, in particular, muzzle brakes, reduced felt recoil and muzzle climb be redirecting gasses forward instead of to the sides or downward. I may be entirely wrong about that
>>
>>
>>61571765
A normal muzzle brake has vents on the top and side to reduce muzzle climb and recoil. Unfortunately this blasts the snit out of anyone to the side of you. A blast can directs everything forwards.
>>
>>61571765
You're almost entirely wrong about that, yeah
Bare muzzle sends the gas straight out, pushing straight back which ends up causing muzzle flip because you don't hold the gun directly behind the line of recoil
Brakes send gases to the sides and up, pushing out to the side almost equally (cancels each other out, bleeds off recoil) and/or down (counters muzzle flip)
Blast cans cover up the muzzle brake holes so that the gases that were previously being shot out and upward are contained, negating the recoil reducing effects so that they aren't awful to shoot in confined spaces, but easy enough to switch back to the regular brake when you're not indoors. You basically lose any recoil reduction you previously had when using one
>>
>>61571934
I've been meaning to ask you how the Mesh is working
>>
>>61571934
What flex antennas are those?
>>
>>61571993
Oh, okay! I don’t shoot indoors much. Thanks for explaining. So a simple muzzle brake would be better, if I mostly shoot outdoors, but the blast can could help if ever I had occasion to shoot indoors while not helping with muzzle climb at all?
If I’m reading that correctly, that’s similar to a linear compensator? I’ve had muzzle brakes before and they definitely reduced felt recoil, I naively thought the blast cans increased this rather than negated it
Thanks for explaining!

i have a similar radio - 7550.
you can get aes256 loaded/enabled on it. I had a guy from ebay that put it on mine. should be able to with the 7550e. just look around.

the radio suggestion would depend on what/who you are talking to. DMR or P25, UHF/VHF, do they have crypto. lots of questions there.

What do you want to use the chest rig for? For range larping, or SHTF patrolling on foot? Something else?

My chest rig is set up for a SHTF type situation with the assumption that I'll have to move on foot in the woods. 3 double AR flapped mag pouches in the center with 2 GP pouches to each side of those that I can keep a radio, medical, water, etc in. I have 2 Esstac AR pouches on my belt. I also keep 6 extra mags in my pack. So that's 14 mags plus 1 in the rifle.

If you're just range larping, I think the 3 or 4 mag rigs are fine, but don't be surprised if you eventually find yourself wishing you'd gotten a rig that can hold more.

If not 8.

Mag ruling is as follows;

6+1 bare minimum
8+1 good middle ground
10+1 a great place to be
12+1 God mode

But body armor makes it hard to put more of that weight on your chest.

Oh I know. Some of those cartel guys look like Rob Liefeld comic book characters, with the amount of mags and pouches they have on them. But extended shootout experiences taught them that carrying as many mags possible was the way to go. They didn't have helicopters coming in to drop ammo and other supplies in the middle of engagements.

You'd think more prepared citizen types would take this kind of thing into account, but there's no end of guys prepping for "SHTF" with 3 mags on their chest, 1 on their belt and 1 in the gun, because that ought to be enough ammo to take care of any problem you have, and if it's not enough, well you really should've worked on your marksmanship! These guys will run out of ammo within 90 seconds of trying to break contact with an enemy they barely see, winging rounds all over the place in a panic.

>>61578587
Unironically yes. Stupid, fatherless bandwagon jumping tryhards noticed that the Punisher skull was considered cringe, so they needed a new symbol to mark themselves as being "totally not like those other retards," and so the Blackbeard patch became the new Punisher skull.
>>
>>61579885
imo people who dont know better trying to imitate special forces guys in general has been a net negative for the capabilities of people who are actually trying to prepare for something like that, there's a reason you see guys in Ukraine carrying a metric fuck ton of ammo. Frankly, a lot of guys could learn to emulate what they're doing over there for the most part.

>>
>>61580925

>>
>>61580842
I agree. I think a lot of the confusion comes from how different people define things like "SHTF." For some people, that means summer of 2020 civil unrest type stuff, and for others it means total societal collapse with nightmarishly brutal shit happening in almost every corner of the nation. In one scenario, you're unlikely to be in a situation that can't be resolved with only several rounds fired. In the other, you might be shooting at people every day.

Some guys mimic the SOF stuff because they don't know any better and it "looks cool." Other guys damn well know about the standard combat loadout for an infantry grunt but balk at the idea of ever needing that much ammo state side for anything. Both of these types are gimping themselves for different reasons.
>>
>>61551455
>>61560636
Why don't they just use motorcycle helmets as a basis? They're already optimized for visibility and impact protection. Use kevlar for the shell and boom, you have a slim ballistic rated helmet that doesn't look fucking retarded.
>>
>>61581060
Ever do cardio in a full face motorcycle helmet?
>>
>>61581000
>Some guys mimic the SOF stuff because they don't know any better and it "looks cool.
Well yeah, this is a general for people who think you will die in the streets if you didn’t spend at least 600 dollars on your plate carrier. People like that want special forces youtube guys to tell them what expensive things they need to spend money on. The reality is soft armor will protect you from Jamal if SHTF and you will never need to form a death squad that goes around with nods clearing buildings. When you fill the empty void in your life with buying shit, you imagine scenarios where you get to use your shit.
>>
>>61581072
Fair enough. Though I still think it would be a better starting point to modify an existing full face design for combat use, instead of adding face protection to a ballistic half helmet.
>>
>>61581105
I don't really care how people spend their money, but it's definitely cringe when they larp as some sort of Blackwater mercenary for social media updoots. I'd like to buy NODs in the future, but I'm not going to lie to myself about ever using them in a serious fashion. I'm more likely to win the lottery than to ever use NODs for anything other than fun night shooting and watching the dark skies for UFOs. They're multi-thousand dollar toys. Doesn't mean people who own them shouldn't get good using them for shooting, but there's no reason to dream up fantasies.

What do you envision yourself using it for? If its just a home defense/riot/rittenhouse type scenario, 3 mag micro rig faggots might actually have been right all along. The FBI say the majority of reported self defense situations are resolved in 3-5 rounds, so your likelihood of ever needing to reload are low, even in a riot. However, if you're picturing yourself firing to maneuver in protracted engagements against a similarly armed foe (whatever form that may take), then all the mags you can carry is still not enough.

Buy a helmet cover you imbecile. If you put a battery pack or ear pro on your helmet you will want a cover to stow the cables anyway

Do you have wide or narrow feet, what is your budget and purpose for these boots.
>>
>>61585352
wide feet, preferably something I can use for hiking and everyday use. I'm not willing to spend more than 300 dollars. I looked on /out/ for advice and couldn't find anything that fit what I wanted, so I was wondering what YOU guys wear with your kits. I'm not trying to cargo cult, just wondering what brands/models are good for an outdoors gunman.
>>
>>61585373
I have Merril MOAB Wides. They've been described as the white new balance sneakers of boots.
>>
>>61585552
i like my moabs… :(
>>
>>61585564
So do I. They're comfy, like white new balance sneakers. Prior to them I wore out a pair of Targhee IIs.

I think if your PC is strictly for you to throw on because you have to defend yourself from home invaders, a low profile/slick PC is perfectly acceptable and probably preferable yeah

Any anons have side plate recommendations? TIA.

How does this compare to those shitty gloves that have the sprayed on pleather?

I got it from a friend. I wear mediums, thus why it has sat unused.

I don't know. I've never bought shitty pleather gloves.
>>
>>61587097
I didn't buy them, my dad got them from his job before he retired and they were just... there.
>>
>>61587186
I imagine they fell apart pretty quickly.
>>
>>61587236
Complete garbage. Grip non existent, worse than sweaty hands. Not to mention the material rubs off on your hands leaving them black after you get finished using them. The unbelievable part is that these things are still being sold in store.
>>
>>61586700
I think PC sizes are mostly determined by torso length more than being fat or scrawny. I'm 6'1 205lb and wear a medium.

Is this mouthbreathing retard stuck in 1993?
>>
>>61587301
Yeah. 6'1" 220 gymrat here, chest circumference 48.5", and I wear a 10x12" plate just fine.
Taller guys with longer torsos could use longer plates, I guess, but 10x12"/M fits me just fine.
I NEED side plates, though, otherwise it just looks funny.
>>
>>61587298
Yeah, the ones I posted aren't going to fall apart like that. I've worn them enough to know. For the price, they really are excellent.

If you need more than 1 full mag you will need a lot more. If its a bump in the night 1 mag will solve all issues if there are bigger things going on where you need more than 1 you need a lot more.
>>61585719
You are not putting on a plate carrier for a bump in the night or for a situation that is kinda bad
>>

that's what you think nigga. I've got security cameras, if someones fucking around I'll look at my phone and see em.

Anyone here put tape on their grips? If so what do you recommend?
>>
>>61587301
>>61587319
>>61587516
Yeah carrier sizing for fatbodies should be all in the cummerbund (and to a lesser extent the shoulder straps). I've seen some bloatmaxxed fatasses with hilariously long cummerbunds. Probably the worst though are the guys who just try to make do with a standard 4 cell elastic cummerbund, because even though they'll max out the adjustment in the front and back, they still look like they're being squeezed to death by a boa constrictor, with lard squeezing out over the top and bottom of the 'bund.

>>61588711
Just buy some hockey tape. I bought a roll of Renfrew Pro tape off Amazon. Works fine. Made in Canada, eh.

3M traction tape. As somebody who's played with a lotta tape in my day, accept no substitute. Athletic tape and others like it get gummy/gooey and nasty pretty fast. The 3M sandpaper tape actually improves traction on your grip and doesn't deteriorate nearly as bad (if at all) over time

things I dont like about the LBT6094

-side plates cant be placed in front of the cummerbund so you have a gap where the radio pouch is, the same applies for soft armor inserts, I think designs with overlap with the front plate are better as they offer more complete protection

-shoulder straps are long af and the rear plate bag sits low unless you pull them tight until they're on the front plate velcro

that's it

Recs on a chest rig? Need space 6 556 mags, 2 pistol mags, radio, and ifak
>>
>>61589820
We told you not to buy one.
>>
>>61589936
Get a placard that's 3 double AR mag pouches, then add an expander that will allow you to attach pouches for pistol mags, radio and IFAK.

An inexpensive solution would be this placard:
https://www.wtfidea.com/accessory-panel-04-m4-carry-all/

With these expanders:
https://www.wtfidea.com/modular-expanders/

Then figure out what pistol, radio and IFAK pouches you're going to get.
>>
>>61589946
what?
I didn't ask advice for it here
anyway the 6094 is a very good carrier theres just these things but aside from the side armor thing it's all fine
and it's been widely used and proved to be very good, are there some designs that improve on its flaws? yes but they're much more expensive, like the strandhogg or CPC.

on thing I really like is soft armor following the contour of your armpit like the cage armor chassis does, but almost no pcs do that, I think IOTV does too, and also the new marines plate/armor carrier
>>
I was the anon that asked about the 10 speed being a good option. After some consideration I'm probably going to get a Mayflower. Is there any difference between the Hybrid and the UW or is the extra few bucks just going to the side pouches?
>>
>>61590087
get an RRV/H harness/FLC, and some eagle surp pouches
>>
>>61590117
That do not answer my question. And judging from the quick google search a decent quality RRV and surplus eagle industries pouches will run about the same price as a Mayflower. I'd rather have something new production for that price.
>>
>>61590139
idk about your question but I think the ones I mentioned are better because they allow you to bring more ammo and sustainment gear and be tailored to your preference, the RRV already has single mag pouches inside that make it great for carrying mags and still be flat on the ground so you dont even need mag pouches just the gp ifak etc, I don't like the Mayflower design
>>
>>61590179
Alright. Like I said I'd rather spend that kind of money on new production than questionable quality surplus. I'm pretty sure most of the quality surplus eagle industries pouches are drying up. I'm getting a PC in the future that I'll minmax I just need something that works now.
>>
>>61590191
understood, get what you prefer but note that surplus isnt questionable quality, just check conditions before you buy but theres plenty of new or good conditions gear, just not new with a tag and a couple use marks
>>
>>61589820
The soft armor channel is in front of the radio pouch, my IIIa side panels overlap the front and rear platebags, there is no gap. It was a tight fucking fit getting them in there but that channel runs almost the entire length of the cummerbund.

On the side plate thing, yeah idk man you def have less flexibility there than with a pouch molle'd onto the bund but the placement doesn't bother me, the idea is to put a hard plate on my side, not expand front coverage.

Re: the shoulder straps, the velcro channels under the flap on the back of the front platebag are literally there for the excess length of the shoulder straps. If they're so long that that's not enough space for the excess then just cut em shorter, dude, but on mine I have about 1.5 extra inches of velcro on those channels if I needed to choke the straps up more.

This is what I mean. Most of the sites with condition ratings that I've seen are down to the bottom of the barrel. Lots of sites with no notes on condition. I haven't looked that hard mind just 10 minutes scrubbing google.
>>
>>61590017
>but aside from the side armor thing
Yeah aside from the gigantic 6 inch gap between the front plate and the side plates it’s fine. Good thing your scapulas are well protected while your heart and lungs sit out in the open lmao.
>>
>>61590223
if you actually apply yourself and look harder you'll find plenty of shit on Ebay and other used sites, or irl surp stores, I like eagle pouches, they do the job, are durable, look cool and are cheap, much better than shelling out 40dolls on a new double mag that is the same as the eagle, ofc if you got the shekels and dont give a shit then buy the cool shut you like as long as it works

these are my excess shoulder straps, I keep them on the front velcro, they're not a problem

where can I find the shock cord and pull tabs for the kangaroo pouch?
I've seen the cord on Amazon idk for the tabs
it came without those, or maybe inserts are better?
>>
>>61590353
I am at the stage though where I'm throwing money at the problem just because I can. I do appreciate your autism though and I'll keep it in mind if someone asks me for a reasonable solution. I'm sure you're right and I could find decent shit if I spent the time.
>>
>>61590209
>>61590248
>expand front coverage
my point is that since you're facing the enemy most of the time having the side plates closer to the front covers the areas more likely to be hit by a projectile
>soft armor
yeah it goes all the way to the front in the same compartment as the side plate, a bitch to stick in but it holds it indeed, so your 6inches argument is incorrect, my fault for not noticing earlier

no it's the LBT6094 A, the medium size, and the cummer is M size, idk dude height isnt even that relevant it's how thick you are, I'm not a stick, medium build, I had to set it this way bc the rear plate bag sat too low
