Why do people keep going for the Corolla when the Camry is clearly a better car in every way?
>camry feels more boaty/floaty, it starts leaning before turning into a bend>corolla has more "transparent" steering feel, more neutral, less insulated, you feel like you are 100% in control>corolla is more maneuverable, better suited for tight city streets>camry is more geared towards straight line freeway cruising>camry engine barely gets over 3k rpm in the city, which I feel is bad for engine longevity>corolla engine needs to rev up higher to get around the city
>>27634421>camry engine barely gets over 3k rpm in the city, which I feel is bad for engine longevityYou think low rpms are bad for engine longevity? You're wrong. Its the opposite.
>>27634454>>camry engine barely gets over 3k rpm in the city, which I feel is bad for engine longevitywhat, it should be the opposite. the lazier the engine the longer it last.
>>27634476This is boomer logic, probably applicable to giant V8 engines which have a redline at 4000 rpm. Otherwise low oil pressure condition is not conducive to long engine life. I know EPA thinks le low rpm = le good, but they're wrong.
>>27634514the C6.R race car can redline at 8k RPM, but it hovers around 4k RPM the whole race to conserve fuel and increase reliability. its the whole reason Pratt and Miller had such great pitting strategies that would rack up wins.
>>27634421I will take the smaller car 100% of the time unless it's more underpowered, smaller = more maneuverable and I'm not a fatfuck.
>>27634632Manlet. Anyway op the accord mogs them both
>>27634642The accord is a grandma-mobile now.
>>27634642>accord>1.5T gasket failures>hybrid is only 200hp peak above 70 mph when the high speed clutch engages>only 143 hp sustained so you're always struggling to go uphill after the battery is drained>worse mpg despite lower performance than the camry
What's the point of getting a camry now that the v6 is gone?
>>27634421Why go for any of these when a Tundra is a better car in every way?
>cheaperThat's probably it
RAV4 hybrid LE is the new npc mobile.
>>27634642Based. 'ate cheap interiors, 'ate 'yota, simple as.>>27634710This. Usually the point of compacts is to target a lower price bracket, but the manufacturer goes beyond that and cheapens out on quality as well as size.I wish there were a way to get an E segment interior in a B segment car, but it's just not doable. You either size up or put up with shittier quality all around. Notable exception would be some French cars in the 90s, see ZX (pic related). It was simpler than the Xantia and XM but wasn't worse. It's an interior you'd want to be in. Unlike the atrocious interiors on lower end Toyotas which seem designed to convince you to buy the bigger car, not because it's better but to get away from the lower ones.
Probably has at least a little bit to do with all those Camrys that kept killing people a few years back
About a 10k difference between them
>>27634642Hondas are for girls, Toyotas too for that matter. Also I just don't like big cars, simple as. I never find myself at much of a need to stuff my car full of stuff, but I always seem to find the need to slink through tight spaces.
>>27634421There is no point in getting a Camry nowadays because there is no standalone V6 option, the best closest car with similar characteristics is the Avalon, it’s not in production though and is pricy, but I love the avalont. Owns a 2005 v6 Avalon
>>276350622025 Camry gets 50mpg, that's reason enough.
>>27634454desu i prefer a rwd camry
>>27634514sufficient oiling is achieved at ~1200 rpm
>>276344212025 Camry is hybrid only, so that'll change the meta.
>>27634421The clear choice is the RAV4
>>27635085A RWD would be the perfect sedan
>>27634713Name a better appliance. I'll wait...
>>27634421>Why do people go for the Camry when the BMW M5 is clearly a better car in every way?
corolla too slow
>>27634421I tried a Camry. I think my Corolla is better. The Camry is literally the same car in every conceivable way, it even has the same plasticy build quality and ass suspension, the only difference is it's slightly larger.
>>27635606only the lowest end model camry has a corolla level interior. The nicer trim Camrys have a nicer interior.
>>27635607I test drove the XSE. Honestly it wasn't impressive to me.
>>27635301Corolla LE
>>27635612the S models have the lower end interior, though the X models do get a bit more than the lowest end base models. The XLE is the one with the nicest interior, and the 2025 model looks especially nice.
>>27635624>The XLE is the one with the nicest interior, and the 2025 model looks especially nice.True. I hate the flat grill though. The 2025 XSE looks cooler outside but everything else about the XLE is made for me.
>>27635631I honestly enjoy the aesthetic of both the S and L versions of the 2025 model. I'm gonna do a test drive hopefully in a few weeks.
>>27635633Nice, I hope that you have a good time. I am going to drive my piece of shit for a while.
>>27635633personally i dont like the new genif i had to pick a camry it would be a xse v6, but its a bit too big for me.is there a slightly smaller car specd the same way? the is 350?
>>27635606you forgot to mention the corolla is uglier than the camry
>>27635697For me that is a plus, since I park my car in bad neighborhoods.
>>27635758slower too
>>27635904If I wanted a fast car, I wouldn't buy a Toyota.
If you're older than 30, driving a Corolla (or any entry level car) is huge sign you're failing at life.
>>27636093I'm 30 going on 31 and looking to buy a Camry this summer. Upgrading from a Honda Fit.
>>27636093I'm 37 and I drive a 2007 Hyundai Sonata that I bought second-hand for $5 grand in 2019. I also currently have $1.58 million USD worth of BTC though.
Corolla has manual desu
>>27635697Still more hp than a civic.
>>276350992026 Corolla will likely be the same. Hybrid only forces the price up which Toyota has slowly been doing over the years despite it being "economy" tier lol
>>27635170they used to make em
>>27635170>>27637590Still do, they just label them as a Lexus when they sell em outside Japan.
>>27634421Sedans = women Hatchbacks = men
>>27637861Then why does my 55 year old mother refuse to buy a sedan and has driven a hatchback since the mid '90s?I keep trying to get her to buy a hybrid sedan but nope, apparently her manual transmission 2014 Honda Fit is better.
>>27636093>driving a reliable well made daily means you're a failureLolLmaoDriving a Hyundai, Kia, or Amerishart car is far more of a failure.
>>27637866Honda Fits are honorary women hatchbacks
>>27637873Previously she had a 5th Gen Civic hatch.
>>27637874Also a honorary women hatchback
>>27637883>every hatchback besides the ones I like are for womenneat
>>27634421The Corolla is smaller and has a sick hatchback variant. The Camry is a very respectable car, but too big for my tastes.
>>27637866because your mom is based that's why.
>>27634421In my country Camry is a car for Pajeets and boomers. Corolla is cooler looking and gets a manual gearbox.
>>27637610Pretty sure Crown is labeled as Toyota
>>27637937Nvm, I'm drunk and can't read
>>27637937Crown isn't RWD anymore. Since 2022 they've been AWD.
>>27637906Corolla hatchbacks have always been inherently male
>>27637929you must live in canada
