The /vm/ Ruins & Riches server has returned, this time on the Adventurers of Akalabeth fork. Unlike other forks, AoA is mostly bug fixes and QOL tweaks. Of particular note is being able to craft in bulk and get skill increases from each item crafted. Having a return portal is gay and misses the point.I've also made some other changes to keep the content from getting too easy too quickly. First is magic damage against monsters is reduced from 200% to 125%. Second is removing the 20% drop chance for messages in a bottle that all sea creatures get. This made it far too easy to sail around or go to sea dungeons and hoard treasure maps for artifacts. You can run double bulldog + cloak + point defense to be a cloaked anti-vehicle one shot machine. Otherwise, run double Basilisk + point defense + reactive armor with an engineer healing you. This game really needs some randomized mission modifiers that change the game to give it some more variety and longevity.Shit like, swarm modifiers where there are almost no heavy enemies but 4x as much chaff, just bugs swarming everywhere in hordes, missions where one enemy type is predominant (charger fields? tank factory? 90% of the enemies spawning are one specific type), missions with no patrols but all hive spawns are the giga hives and there's more of them, missions with no spawners but patrols are constantly coming in off the map edges, etc.More map/environmental modifiers too that aren't straight downgrades to the gameplay experience (like the ass sucking -1 strategem modifier or high heat) Give a better reason to run more/different stratagems so you don't keep joining helldive lobbies and seeing 3x players with the same meta loadout waiting for you.
Is there a guaranteed trick or something to make strategem balls stick to chargers? Or anything for that matter. It seems completely random.

I'm playing this with friends on a pve server and I kind of like it. I wish everything had like 1/3 less hp because a lot of these fights really drag on - especially the ones with lots of mechanics that prevent you from doing damage to the them. The game is very tightly tuned and I think it would be more fun if it wasn't. I really like the game when I'm fighting the patrolling type bosses a little over geared and I pull other patrols or other bosses and it gets messy more than doing the arena bosses that are very scripted. I think I'd like it more if you had a bit more player power but also more chaos in the world to keep you on your toes.
