Sadly the aperture blades are fucked and I'm afraid to take it apart to fix it. But I got about 8 rolls through it before it stopped working

>>4317187Is a motor drive worth it for an f3
>>4317192Honestly I said the same thing until I found that one at an antique shop for 10 bucks. The cool thing about the MD-4 is that not only does it run the film advance and usual motor drive stuff but it runs the meter too and the grip just feels better in the hands. It's a bit of heft but well worth it. And it will run on rechargeable AAs too just fine, I put a set of fully charged Eneloops in it when I bought it like 2 years ago and haven't charged them since and ive probably put 10 rolls through it.You don't buy the motor drive for speed. It will waste a 36ex roll in 9 seconds. You get it because it makes it easier to hold, and makes a cool sound when it advances. It's almost required if you're shooting any kind of heavy metal like a 300/2.8

>>4317196>>4317192put the MK-1 on it too while you're at itI gave my F3s and motor drives away when I swore off film, but I was impressed by how the bodies were so easy to hold with the drives. so much so that I wish Nikon just kept using that format for their later cameras instead of using the peeling rubber covers that they keep using even with the Z 9 and Z 8 cameras. never seen any Canons with that problem
>>4317285I had two Canons I redid the grips on, a 5D and a Rebel 10mp because I hit the shutter life limit on both and used the absolute shit out of them in my formative years. My Df has been through 4 sets of rubber grips and my D800 and 700s are due.
>>4317185This thing is a fuckin pig, looks good
>>4317314Built like a brick shithouse too, shit took a beating on that hike and plowed through two rolls of Sensia 100 in the 105 degree heat

>>4317180redpill me on mamiya
>>4317479There is no redpill. It is the less expensive option that you settle on if you can't afford/don't want to pay for superior mirror slapping boxy boy cameras. They have their annoying quirks like any of these highly interlocked cameras. Not very nice to use in many ways, especially handheld. They're totally fine and dandy on a tripod. Could be a decent first MF camera if you got a good deal on one.
