I have a few very minimal papes, I thought a thread considerate of those with shitmachines or terrible internet may be appreciated.200 KB or less.

>>8030384I love that projection because the shapes of the continents are so accurate but that image is too dark. It just needed some contrast and lightness adjustments.

>>8055653I've been a Who fan since the 80's. One of my earliest memories is when he fell and regenerated. I was blown away, I had never seen anything like it.I've followed him through every series, movie and the new Who. Now, I just cannot watch it. The Whittaker Who was the worst I've ever seen, simply terrible writing, pushing agendas and completely misunderstanding the character. It was like she knew nothing about him, but maybe watched one episode. Then just ran around acting like a fool, trying to do some kind of knock off pathetic version without knowing what she was talking about. I gave up after a few episodes. It hurt to watch. Then the recent tennat return episodes being written like they were for a 5 year old and also for trans audiences. Why would you write specifically to only make 0.01% of the population happy. It was just terrible. They seem to just want to try to prove they are hip, cool and up to date, so they push trans and gay themes then pat themselves on the back. Telling the Dr he isn't smart because hes only a man and women are better. Telling him off for pronoun usage. It was so cringe inducing.Dr Who was never about sexuality, the doctor never had and sexual relationships. It was never a theme. He's hundreds of years old, he has little to no interest in dating what he must think of as his children by now.Theres just no need for sexual themes in Who. It was all about discovery, the wonder of the universe and life. Fighting crazy aliens who want to kill people with a smile, a laugh and some cool tech.Comment too long. >>8055653Old Doctor Who? I found it to be cheesy but inoffensive and when I was young, one of my uncles I was staying with let me watch some Dalek episodes from the 70's-80's and I remember liking them (apparently I used to draw them a lot). New Doctor Who though is just unwatchable for me. You can really tell it's a modern BBC show from a mile off and all for the worst reasons. Like the anon in the post above, I never got a sense of wonder and mystery a time travel science fiction show should have. Every episode, every storyline just stinks of the BBC and their "values". Yes, science fiction can reflect modern day issues by projecting them on alien races/worlds but you need writers and producers to be very skilled and motivated to do that without it becoming preachy and forced and the Who writers clearly can't (or won't).Deep Space Nine got a little too preachy in some episodes for my taste but only in a few episodes and it's still my favorite SciFi show of all time.
>>8055561what you describe is the new series. starting Doctor Who with the new series is like starting Star Wars at Episode VII.>>8055653>Christopher Ecclestone and David Tennant's era is generally considered to be the best part of the show.only by tumblr fangirls.>early Doctor Whoit isn't.>>8055676>Dr Who was never about sexuality, the doctor never had and sexual relationships. It was never a theme. He's hundreds of years old, he has little to no interest in dating what he must think of as his children by now.>Theres just no need for sexual themes in Who. have you seriously rewatched the Tennant era recently? the one where the Doctor unironically falls in love with a 19-year-old chav?have you rewatched the Smith era recently? the one where half of the characters are hornbags and the Doctor is flirting with the femme fatale daughter of his own companion?I agree with everything you said but you being unable to realise this criticism also fully applies to early NuWho is pathetic.NuWho Doctors have always been out of character, ever since series 1. NuWho just is NOT Doctor Who and has never been. simple as.

>>8055970>the old ones were known for being near-indestructibleexactly, it's hard to imagine any modern laptop lasting beyond about 3 years with heavy daily use now, indeed most people would probably be fairly happy getting at least 3 years from their modern laptop, but I knew someone that daily drove an old IBM T-series for about 15-16 years before it finally completely expired, and he'd routinely take the thing on business trips all over the world too, and it never once missed a beat in all that time, the hardware was just that bulletprooffunny thing is, his first choice for a replacement laptop after the T-series finally died was some ultra-shiny high-end Apple PoS that I warned him multiple times not to buy and which ultimately lasted him maybe about 9 months before it too completely died a death under the same amount of heavy daily useliterally nobody makes mid & high-end laptops now like IBM used to make mid & high-end laptops...
>>8055770I think the first few Lenovo ThinkPads were pretty good, I like the X220 a lot. It's going to be my daily laptop for as long as I can keep it working.

>>8055856What is the point of a living space that is forces you to walk with a permanent stoop? There's even a child for reference.Simply halving the width and using the available height for storage or subdivision would be a more effective use of space, while also reducing the risk of you banging your head, falling out of your living space and breaking your neck when you go to the bathroom in the middle of the night.
Let's get a retro synthwave thread going! Phone papes preferred
