Yeah. I started typing a response to him but then I realized he's posting the same talking points I've already addressed.
Now that I think about it, I've already argued with him about this same topic on /news/ before and he was posting the same talking points, regardless of what I say.

It's been said that children under 25 yrs old haven't fully developed their rational brain areas

The brain as a whole is always developing, albeit at a slower rate later in life. It's the Prefrontal cortex that isn't fully developed until (on average) age 23-25.

>The largest spikes are occurring in Republican states flooded with guns.
>Least thefts are occurring in states with strict gun control.

https://www.axios.com/2024/05/09/guns-stolen-cars-everytown-report

The rate of gun thefts from cars has tripled in the U.S. since 2013, making vehicles the most common source for stolen weapons in the country, according to a new report by the gun safety group Everytown.

Why it matters: Stolen guns are difficult to trace and are often later used in other crimes, the report notes.

By the numbers: Everytown analyzed almost a decade of FBI crime data from 337 cities across 44 states with a combined population of about 63 million people.

>The analysis found that the rate of gun thefts from cars in these cities has tripled from 2013, rising from an estimated 21 thefts per 100,000 people that year to 63 thefts per 100,000 people in 2022.
>Of the 112,000 guns reported stolen in 2022, about 51%, or roughly 62,000 weapons, were from stolen from vehicles.
>On average at least one gun is stolen from a car every nine minutes in the U.S, the report stated.

The media does intentionally lie about shit. If you want people to believe you when you tell them that, pick better examples of it, instead of pissing your pants and citing bullshit debate fallacies that don't even apply at the first sign of aversity.
You could've said any of this shit that you're saying to me to your actual opponent and made an actual argument out of it. I don't care. You don't need to convince me. I agree with you. Rub your two brain cells together, say "Gee anon, thanks for pointing out that I was acting like a little bitch instead of backing up my argument with logic and facts," and do better next time, fag.

Donald Trump's youngest child, Barron Trump, is to enter the political limelight with a role at July's Republican National Convention.

Delegates from across the US will formally select the party's nominee for president at the gathering in Wisconsin - set to be Barron's father.

The 18-year-old has been named on a list of delegates-at-large to attend the event for the state of Florida.

Previously, Barron's mother Melania has kept him largely out of the public eye.

The only child from their nearly two-decade marriage, Barron did not immediately move to Washington after his father's inauguration.

He remained with his mother at their Trump Tower home in New York to finish his school year before they relocated in the summer of 2017.

His move to the White House, at age 11, made him the first male child to live there since John F Kennedy Jr in 1963.

https://apnews.com/article/israel-weapons-shipment-us-eed365ebef0477ba74bf9848cacae4f4

The United States will stop supplying offensive weaponry to the Israelis if the country goes through with a planned invasion of the city of Rafah in the Gaza Strip, President Joe Biden said on Wednesday, a signal that he is willing to put conditions on aid to Israel for the first time and that he’s reached a major break with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

“Civilians have been killed in Gaza as a consequence of those bombs and other ways in which they go after population centers,” Biden said during an interview with CNN, acknowledging the deaths of tens of thousands of Palestinian civilians during the war launched in retaliation for Hamas’ massacre of Israelis and taking of hostages on Oct. 7.

“I made it clear that if they go into Rafah ― they haven’t gone in Rafah yet ― if they go into Rafah, I’m not supplying the weapons that have been used historically to deal with Rafah, to deal with the cities,” Biden said.

Biden, long a staunch and unquestioning supporter of Israel, has come under intense pressure from Democrats to finally place conditions on military aid to the country, which has been accused of war crimes and has been deemed at risk of committing genocide in its attacks on the Palestinian enclave of Gaza. Biden said the U.S. would continue to provide for Israel’s defense, as it did when it assisted the country against an attack from Iran last month.

“We’re going to continue to make sure Israel is secure in terms of Iron Dome and their ability to respond to attacks that came out of the Middle East recently,” he said, adding, “We’re not going to supply the weapons and artillery shells.”

Rafah, where 1 million displaced Palestinians are sheltering, is one of the last remaining safe zones in the Gaza Strip. Humanitarian groups fear a full-on Israeli invasion of the city would result in mass civilian deaths.

I wish everyone would just get this through their thick skulls:

These people can't live together, period.

The Israelis are the ones with all the power. Even if the US stops backing them, they will not stop taking Palestinian territory, which already looks like swiss cheese, as well as their lives until they are nearly all gone, and the Palestinians will not stop shooting rockets at them, nor give them any other motive to stop in the meantime. All the "Free Palestine" movement is doing is extending the suffering by making this all take even longer. Just let the Jews finish creating one of the greatest diasporas of our time and be done with it. There's already five times as many Palestinians living outside of Palestine than in. Once enough of them are gone that they can't affect Israel's voting demographic significantly, Israel will annex the territory outright, and it'll be over. The few remaining will simply be Israeli citizens.

The alternative is endless war.

If I had a magic wand to create justice in this world, I would make it so all the Palestinians and all the Jews would have an uncontrollable urge to move at least a thousand miles away from that place and a thousand miles away from each other. Neither of them deserve that land. Let some other group that can actually live together in peace take it.

But alas, there is no justice in this world, no magic wands. The best you can do is hope for less suffering.

Let it end.

Netanyahitler has committed more than just war crimes. Now he's been proven to be abusing an elderly man afflicted with dementia.

https://nypost.com/2024/05/08/us-news/college-anti-israel-agitators-could-be-sent-to-gaza-under-new-house-gop-bill/

FIRST ON FOX: A new House Republican bill would send any person charged and convicted for illegal activity on a college campus to Gaza for at least six months.

Rep. Andy Ogles, R-Tenn., introduced the bill on Wednesday alongside Reps. Randy Weber, R-Texas, and Jeff Duncan, R-S.C., in response to the ongoing anti-Israel demonstrations on college campuses across the country.

Several of those protests have turned violent, with clashes between police and activists, as well as hundreds of activists being arrested across multiple campuses.

While Ogles’ bill text does not mention Israel or the anti-Israel groups, it specifically targets unlawful activity on college campuses after Oct. 7, 2023, when Hamas militants invaded Israel in a surprise attack that killed over 1,000 people.

Those convicted would be forced to serve a minimum six-month community service sentence in Gaza, where Israel is currently waging a brutal campaign to eradicate Hamas and rescue the remaining Israelis that terrorists took hostage in October.

“Students have abandoned their classes to harass other students and disrupt campus-wide activities, including university commencement ceremonies nationwide. Enough is enough,” Ogles told Fox News Digital.

“That’s why I introduced legislation to send any person convicted of unlawful activity on the campus of an American university since October 7th, 2023, to Gaza to complete a minimum of six months of community service.”

National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir faced calls for his sacking Thursday after he quipped online that the Hamas terror group loves Joe Biden, in reaction to the US president’s comments to CNN that he would freeze arms transfers to Israel should the military advance into the Gazan city of Rafah.
.
“If [Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu does not fire Ben Gvir today, he is endangering every soldier in the IDF and every citizen in the State of Israel,” Lapid declared in a statement on Thursday morning.

He later called on Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, Benny Gantz and Gadi Eisenkot — the first two are members of the war cabinet and the third is an observer in it — to press Netanyahu for Ben Gvir’s ouster.

The three, seen as leading voices of moderation tamping down on far-right forces within Netanyahu’s government, should “not suffice with condemnations this time, they should demand the dismissal of Itamar Ben Gvir,” he said.

Ben Gvir’s tweet was one of several fuming reactions from government figures Thursday morning following Biden’s warning that the US would stop providing offensive weapons to Israel if it pushed ahead with a planned offensive in Rafah, seen as the last major Hamas redoubt in Gaza but also home to over a million displaced Gazans who are sheltering there after fleeing other parts of the Strip.

Netanyahu already literally said that funding Hamas was part of HIS strategy to divide the Palestinian and discredit the Palestine authority to prevent the creation of Palestinian State in 2019. And try learn the history of Hamas, when Israel funded and help established the organization of Mujama al-Islamiya, the original organization where Hamas was formed. So yes Israel IS HAMAS.

Art Directors Guild Suspends Training Program: ‘We Cannot in Good Conscience Encourage You to Pursue Our Profession’
A memo sent to prospective applicants cited 75 percent unemployment in the ADG's ranks.
BY CHRISTIAN BLAUVELT, CHRIS O'FALT
MAY 8, 2024 7:26 PM

https://www.indiewire.com/news/breaking-news/art-directors-guild-ending-production-design-initiative-program-1235002230/

Update: The ADG has issued a statement: “Due to an internal technical error, applicants to our Production Design Initiative (PDI) program received an email that had not been edited or fact-checked.” The full statement is at the bottom.

Art Directors Guild is suspending its Production Design Initiative program, designed to give hands-on training and job placement opportunities to those seeking a career in the field, according to an email sent to prospective applicants and acquired by IndieWire. (Read the full statement below.)

IndieWire has reached out to the Art Directors Guild for further comment. Read the entire statement below.

Dear PDI Applicants,

Due to historic and unprecedented circumstances within the entertainment industry we must suspend the review of all PDI applications for the 2024 calendar year. We realize this decision will come as a surprise and disappointment to many.

Since Covid our industry has been in a state of historic change and evolution. The reason for our decision to suspend the 2024 PD Initiative is due to the serious downturn in current employment opportunities for our membership, both in North America and globally. Currently more than 75% of our members are unemployed and many have not been working for 18 months or more.

Because of these circumstances there is even less of an opportunity for employment within the entertainment industry at this time.

Given this situation we cannot in good conscience encourage you to pursue our profession while so many of our members remain unemployed. This is due to multiple reasons, the 2023 strikes, the on-going 2024 negotiations, and a once in a generation change within the entertainment
industry as it searches for new business models to govern its creation and distribution. We intend to resume the PD Initiative in 2025. At that time, you may reapply should you still be interested.

We encourage you to work on your portfolios and work-skills training. Also, this decision does not preclude you from making a direct outreach to current and future productions and their designers should you see an opportunity for employment as a Production Assistant within their art departments.

inb4 AI totally wrecks the "Art" industry
>>
The updated statement from the ADG:

Due to an internal technical error, applicants to our Production Design Initiative (PDI) program received an email that had not been edited or fact-checked and was not intended to be widely distributed. As an early draft, the data points included in the email (such as “more than 75% of our members are unemployed and many have not been working for 18 months or more”) were not fact-checked and may be inaccurate.

Additionally, our overall message to membership was not accurately captured throughout the email. Our guild, alongside the entire motion picture/entertainment industry, has felt the effects of a global pandemic, an industry-wide strike and shift in the business models that underpin our industry. However, none of this dampens our optimism about the future of our industry and the future of production design as a profession.

This temporary pause in our PDI program during a year of contract negotiation gives our staff and membership the ability to focus on our movement of “Many Crafts, One Fight.” This labor movement alongside our peers and colleagues only strengthens our excitement for the future of the industry.

We plan to resume the PDI program in 2025.

Nikki Haley dropped out of the 2024 presidential race exactly two months ago, and yet on Tuesday 128,000 Indiana GOP primary voters cast their ballot for the former Trump UN Ambassador instead of the presumptive Republican nominee.

"Unexpected warning signs for Trump in busy Indiana primary," reports Politico, which notes, "Nikki Haley’s performance in the already concluded presidential race could be a sign of trouble for Trump in more competitive states."

Haley, also a former South Carolina governor, was consistently getting double-digit percentages of the GOP primary vote before she dropped out of the race, even in red states. (All vote totals and percentages are from the Associated Press via Google and are current as of time of publication.)

In Alabama, Haley took 13%. In Oklahoma, 15.9%. In Texas, 17.4%. Tennessee, 19.5%.

But after Haley dropped out, effectively handing Trump the nomination, Republican primary voters continued to vote for her, and continued to vote for her almost always in double-digit percentages.

In Arizona, Haley won 17.8% of the primary vote. In Georgia, 13.2%. In Kansas, 16.1%.

And last night in Indiana, Haley took 21.7% of the vote.

(AP) — President Joe Biden on Wednesday laced into Donald Trump over a failed project in the previous administration that was supposed to bring thousands of new jobs into southeastern Wisconsin and trumpeted new economic investments under his watch that are coming to the same spot.

That location in the battleground state will now be the site of a new data center from Microsoft, whose president credited the Biden administration’s economic policies for paving the way for the new investments. For Biden, it offered another point of contrast between him and Trump, who had promised a $10 billion investment by the Taiwan-based electronics giant Foxconn that never came.

“In fact, he came here with your senator, Ron Johnson, literally holding a golden shovel, promising to build the eighth wonder of the world. You kidding me?” Biden told the crowd of about 300 people, who clapped and cheered loudly as he spoke. “Look what happened. They dug a hole with those golden shovels, and then they fell into it.”

Noting that 100 homes were destroyed to make way for the project, which wasted hundreds of millions of dollars, Biden added a jab: “Foxconn turned out to be just that — a con. Go figure.”

Biden was in Sturtevant, in Racine County, to promote the $3.3 billion Microsoft data center, which the Democratic president said will employ about 2,300 union construction workers to build it and then 2,000 permanent employees to staff it.

ATLANTA - A recent report from Georgetown University says the state of Georgia dropped about 300,000 children from its Medicaid and PeachCare programs in 2023.

This comes after pandemic-era protections that kept people insured were lifted.

"Georgia unfortunately did not do well in protecting its children. Georgia ranked third in the country for the number of children who lost Medicaid in 2023, and that was a pretty significant finding. We didn't have a lot of data for Georgia because they haven't been very transparent about what's been going on for the children in the unwinding," said Joan Alker, research professor at Georgetown University McCourt School of Public Police. Alker was the lead on the study.

The study tracked disenrollment data nationwide in 2023. During the pandemic, everyone who became insured on Medicaid stayed on, and did not have to fill out annual paperwork to prove their eligibility.

"States are checking renewals for children who are covered by Medicaid and that's half of the children in the United States," said Alker.

According to the Georgia Department of Human Service's website, the state began redetermining eligibility in April 2023.

Alker says by the end of the year, data shows Georgia saw a decline of about 300,000 children in its programs.

It didn't. It simply reached an endemic phase.

Did the needs of the people end?

You're a double moron. Covid is fake as fuck and was literally nothing different from the normal flu season.

Stopgap medicare coverage ended because the program expired. The government stopped covering these people.

Yeah man all the people ending up on ventilators from the flu
