They are for sure gonna release something new and spicy very soon because the market conditions dictate it, but what do they have in the pipeline spec-wise?
R5MK2 with higher megapickles and faster readout to compete with the z9 and z8?
Retro-larp camera to compete with fujifilm? Some even speculate in a R6MK3 because the MK2 is heavily discounted at the moment. The mythical R1? Maybe a plain RMK2?

native sony lenses are the best on the market and brutally mog all cannot and niggor junk. 1.4 and 1.2 GMs are without equal. every lens sony releases somehow ends up the sharpest and smallest a lens in its class has ever been. meanwhile the fuckhuge rf 1.2s vignette more and are softer - how?
>>
>>4314261
The biggest drawbacks with the 50 1.2 is the chromatic aberrations and somewhat slow focusing motor otherwise I haven't seen much to indicate that snoy makes better products.

Do zoomers care about CCD videography? I have some old VHS video cameras I restored that have 1/2" CCD sensors inside and they look great if you bypass the tape and export the raw video right to a capture card.
I've been trying to market myself to zoomers who want the VHS effect but nobody is biting .

These are really cool. It's disappointing no one wanted to hire you. How do you record directly to a capture card on these? I assume there is a cable for direct TV out, is someone making retrofit units to take SD cards that you plug in from the external out port?

Fix your screen calibration, it would have been a good pic if this jittery mother fucker stood still. Unfortunately his face is moved. I'm at work on a cinealta calibrated screen and it looks alright, yeah maybe cause it's expired stock from 2001 I could fix it a bit but no where near red. Only reason it's a shit photo is cause the subject has motion blurr. If you're going to shit on my photo at least do it right.

>ISO 25600 on video
you're talking out of your ass, unless that camera is recording in any kind of lossless or I-frame only lossy video, the DCT quantization during compression will eat away every detail possible and leave only raped macroblocks. ISO 1600 is already enough to start getting blocking with a camera recording in H.264 at a substantial 80Mbps. This is over twice the bitrate of a normal Blu-Ray, or about the same as an UHD BD

have been getting really back into photography lately using my old Pen-1 Micro Camera but I have seen this little pinkish red dot appearing on every other photo I take and have no idea what it is or how it came about, I want to know if anyone has got any idea where or more importantly why this is happening?

also one thing to note is I didn't mess around with any of the configurations on the camera just the ISO, Aperture and Shutter Speed in later photos.

also another thing to note is there's now three of these little pinkish red dots on the photos.

Dead/ Stuck Pixel.

If its dead, its dead.

If its stuck, use the clean sensor function...this sometimes works....

To mitigate dead/ stuck pixels theres tonnes of things....remap...also, these sometimes only show up at high ISOs or during longs shoots, whent he sensor essentially overheats.

I have had this issue before-- the dead pixel eventually just went away.

If it stays, just remove it in post. Its easy enough.
>>
>>4312983
they're "hot" or "stuck" pixels.
what ISO are you shooting these at? they usually show up at "higher" sensitivities, though I've seen them as early as ISO 400 on my old D3x.
some raw processing software can just process them out by default so you never see them if you import the raws.

While most phones are perfectly good enough for snapshots, I do think there should be more compacts.

My iPhone 12 mini *can* take very good photos (pic rel) but I hate it so so much that it's using a wide angle lens and not a normal one. Some cases I don't mind it being wide but the distortion really grinds my fucking gears in others. And the ultra wide is a joke... what's the point if it only takes grainy ass pictures literally worse than some of my 20 year old digital cameras? And then having to adjust the exposure almost every fucking time to at least get a decent shot...

Those bottom two are VERY good. Keep them. Use them. Enjoy them. Just shoot raw, learn the exposure triangle, and have fun. I wouldn't change much but get a dx 35mm f1.8 or 24mm f2.8 D for the nikon.

t. has $4500 in camera gear and would still shoot with those for non-client stuff

Fellow /p/ros. Help me pick a nice 00s camcoder for my girlfriend. Something 480i capable that records to HDD or SD card with an easy USB transfer capability.
No DVD no tapes no FireWire. Obscure video formats are ok as long as ffmpeg can digest it. Remember this is for a girl.
Must be "aesthetic" too if possible.

So far I like the JVC GZ-MG130E

to be really honest, youre just describing early consumer solid state camcorders from the late 00s, if they use SD cards the majority of them will do exactly that. The balance though is you probably want a better lens and bitrate then the sub $200 market was offering back then. Even then, they likely shot progressive video to SD cards

Besides, isnt the archaic physical format a part of the experience with using an old camcorder? You shouldnt be dumbing it down for her, im sure she can understand disc finalisation and burning. She can also use DV cams from the early 2000s too if she has a Mac since they still had inbuilt firewire support up until a few years ago, and she can fuck around with dubbing and get that true interlaced video quality when subjects move in the frame.

But if you want to ignore all of this, im pretty sure HDD handycams running AVCHD (an interlaced format) from the early 2010s had an LP mode where they recorded down to 720 or 480 video. I used a Sony HDR SR12 120gb HDD handycam a few years ago i picked up for $30 and havent used it in a while but it felt pretty cool busting it out, i put on a pistol grip and a wide angle lens adaptor so its handling was like an older camera especially with the viewfinder and it was funny to just walk around and shoot shit with my friends.

Whats good about those models too and maybe others in the Sony HDD range at the time was they used ZIF connectors for their hard drives, so if the drive ever dies you can easily get a SSD used for by Ipod modders to replace it and they supposedly work perfectly and are pretty cheap. All while giving you that shitty diamond shaped iris bokeh, the tiny sensor, and the fun zooms

fellas I'm about to buy a shimoda backpack, am I making a mistake or nah
>>
Idk anon. I think you might be better served by a Thinktank Airport. It’s more of a traditional camera case, you can wheel it, you can also take out backpack straps and wear it, and it has a rain fly and laptop sleeve. It’s pretty perfect.

i was thinking to get into photography, and saw this on marketplace

what do you think about this one, is it good to start making pictures of whatever i like? any tips?

Its not about how good the photos are but how 35mm film is just worse digital for artistically blind chumps who cant color grade.

Hey at least 4x5 does something special that digital cant even try to imitate without a $3000 lens that makes view cameras look portable
35mm film is not much different from shoving a 1gb CF card in a 12mp ccd dslr unless you’re an autist who likes sniffing vinegar

After buying 4 prime lenses, then playing around with some old lenses
I have realized one thing:
>the lenses don't really matter
>crap lens look good because they're crap >therefore more realistic
>ultra sharp lenses look digital and unreal
>it's the artifacts that makes it cinematic
>the film cameras have layers upon layers of mat box filters and lens "scent" glasses to achieve an airy cinematic look

>crap lens look good because they're crap >therefore unusual and intresting
>ultra sharp lenses look too real so are not intresting

I'm short-sighted, I love sharp lenses because they provide me a different wiev of reality.

i feel like lenses matter more than almost anything else for the actual "look" of an image
i only like shooting certain focal lengths, and i just have a bunch of "redundant" lenses so i can pick and choose the aesthetic I want
shoot enough that you can identify what lens and aperture you took a shot with, just by looking at it

Post an example.

An example that different lenses can render scenes differently? An example that the same lens will have different characteristics at different apertures?
Or are you just calling me out on being a nophoto?

I'm legitimately interested in seeing comparison images from the lenses you have in the same focal length.
