The upcoming white foggy big cliff on the horizon and unnatural "hole" where the people of Jogashima conducts their ritual while dressing in their native costume. The Air of familiarity of tradition is here but the way these pages presented itself along with its geographic structure is mystical that make you feel awe by it (despite the setting is probably much closer to our own than other media like GLT or Blame!)

The early chapters of YKK are quite detailed, but it gets more and more abstract as it goes on, with the art implying more than it actually shows. He even acknowledges this with the little 4koma on the back of YKK volume 12. By the time of this chapter, the old man behind the counter doesn't even have a face! And somehow, it's not really noticeable. It doesn't feel lazy, but instead like he's giving you just enough to suggest the scene and letting your mind fill in the rest.
