I want a Saiyan gf
>>
>>268723126
Dragon Ball lacks the type of appeal that some other shounen have due to it's deficit of strong, prominent female characters.
>>
>>268723302
That's faggot shows like Hokuto no Ken, HxH, Saint Seiya, Jojo, JJK. DB has plenty of strong prominent female role models. Bulma, Chi-Chi, Launch, Videl, Android 18, Caulifla, Pan, Mai etc.
>>
>>268723126
Finally, a safe thread
>>
>>268723651
>Bulma, Chi-Chi
Okay, this is true. I meant more "strong fighter".

>Launch
I wish.

>Android 18
Only actual strong girl in her arc.

>Pan
she's more of a meme
>>
>>268723851
Toriyama was from a generation where they were still cynical. He was being realistic when it comes to makes vs females in strength, at least we got 18 and she is a modified human etc. Following generations blurred the line on that, thanks to feminist ideas in popular movies. DB is a product of it's time. If it came out in the 00s the trends would be different and Goku would be some loser wimp being bitch slapped by the chicks around played for the le funny, but do we really want that?
>>
i always found the Saiyan race interesting, this series could do with a alternate universe female legendary super saiyan who can mop the floor with broly
>>
we needed more Launch
>>
>>268723651
>Hokuto no Ken
Yuria? Nah.
>HxH
Bisky reading magazines? Machi? Shizuku? Zazan?
Well, Machi is obviously the best one, but she's confined to a supportive role and won't get her chance to shine in...holy shit, I don't know.
>Saint Seiya
A literal sausage fest.
>JoJo
Lisa Lisa abandoning her kids? Don't get me started with Anne, Mariah, Midler, or any other female from part 3. Yukako? Useless. Trish? An escort mission. Part 6? A waste of time. 7+8 have meh representation. Kyo is ok.
>JJK
Yeah, you got Maki and Nobara and the former carries the best arc in the series with the clan extermination but it's outshined by too much mogging by Sukuna/Gojo/Yuji/Geto.

Anyway, I think DBZ's biggest problem is its lack of variety in storytelling. Not just its lack of women.

The first three major sagas - Saiyan, Frieza, Cell - had a clear, precise progression in mind. 18's inclusion was really negligible, if anything, and wasn't much about making her the token strong female fighter in the group as it was about the change in tone by including all of the androids together. The saga also had a history of the editors writing and pandering it to their whim, which gave us the results that we got with Cell, Gohan, and afterward.

The Buu saga is where the messiness happened and I don't think it ever occurred or entered Toriyama's mind as to why he didn't include female saiyans in his main manga series because he wanted to be done by the end of the Cell saga and the 90s weren't best known for trying to add strong feminine women unless you want to count Evangelion, Cardcaptor Sakura, and Sailor Moon as your most prominent examples.

Super had the right ideas in mind when writing the Galactic prisoner and Granolah arcs, but it seemed like too little, too late when considering that Toriyama croaked out and died this year. So even if we did get female saiyans, it wouldn't have Toriyama's vision and blessing in mind.
>>
OP pic has nice art. I want a threesome with two stacked feral saiyans.

The best female shounen characters that actually count toward their series are:
>Rukia Kuchiki/Yoruichi Shihouin (or almost every woman) from Bleach
>Leona from Dragon Quest: Dai
>Kasche from Monster Collection
>Sakura Kakei/Hevn/Himiko Kudo from Getbackers
>Himeno from Chainsaw Man
>Ichiko Sakura from Binbougami Ga!
>Himari Noihara from Omamori Himari
>Saeko Busujima from HOTD
>Kasumigaoka Utaha from Koisuru Metronome
>Tsukino from Tomodachi Game
>Anna Koyama/Tao Jun from Shaman King
>Lenalee Lee from D.Gray-Man
>Everyone from Claymore
>Froese from Toriko
>Akira Asai from Yofukashi no Uta
>Sherry Belmont from Gash Bell
But again, you're really working against your numbers here when trying to find strong, let alone "good" (from a writing standpoint that makes you empathize with and care about the character and not just waifubait faggotry) female characters in shounen, a primary BOY'S magazine.
You're better off with mecha anime instead. Tomino can work it when it comes to writing women.

will broly ss3 ever be animated

Who are the two girls in OP pic? Are they OC?
>>
We need an alternate timeline SBZ where the Saiyan planet wasn't destroyed and Goku had a Saiyan gf.

Saiyan Girls need more love
>>
>>268723651
>Hokuto no Ken
No strong, prominent female characters to speak of. Mamiya is walking scenery at most, and Yuria is just a plot device
>HxH
>Saint Seiya
They have one or two each (Bisky and the Spider girls for HxH, maybe Killua's "sister" if you want to go there. Shaina for SS) that's hardly "plenty".
>Jojo
Not until part 6
>JJK
Literally only the meganekko-turned-scar-girl. Nobara is irrelevant

As for DB, the only strong, prominent female characters are Bulma, Android 18, and Videl when the writers remember she had a personality. Chi Chi's been a joke since the 23rd Budokai, Launch has been long forgotten, Caulifla and Mai were around for one arc, and Toriyama died before he could properly characterize Pan.

My only issue with Fasha (and why I prefer Ancient Saiyan Woman) is that Toriyama recycled that hair for Videl, and I hate that hairstyle on Videl but it works on Fasha, and I can't reconcile that feeling

It goes deeper than that
For some odd reason, Toriyama and Toei alike completely screwed over Saiyan women specifically. Considering how prominent Saiyans are, and considering that we've gotten a bunch of fighting women in the series, somehow Saiyan women specifically got totally shafted until the U6 duo arrived.
>But Fasha
Never actually fought on screen (except as a Great Ape for a few seconds). Even Zangya (Bojack's female compatriot) did way more fighting than Fasha, the Saiyan, ever did.
Now try to think of all the other female Saiyans in the series besides Fasha (no cheating with hybrids). The other 4 named ones were all created in the 2010s, way after the end of the original manga, and Gine was literally the first one Toriyama himself ever drew. The only 2 named u7 Saiyans were Gine and Nion (that Russian scientist lady).
That's right: the only two Saiyan women Toriyama ever drew from U7 *aren't even fighters*
Then you have Caulifla, and Toriyama's version of Caulifla is way different from the anime version everyone knows. He didn't create or draw Kale.
Toei also had loads and loads of opportunities to make even one besides Fasha. There were loads of filler scenes of the Saiyans in a dozen separate episodes of Z, as well as GT, and I think that one Plan to Eradicate the Saiyans game. I think besides a few very early on in Z, all male.
I'm fairly sure (don't quote me on this) that Caulifla and Kale are even the ONLY female Saiyans we've seen in U6, prominent or background. Telling that you have to scrape background characters to get more than a tiny handful, and there's STILL a death of them.
It's genuinely baffling why Dragon Ball is so aggressively afraid of female Saiyans, when it's not at all afraid of other strong fighting female characters (even recently, think of those 3 prison planet chicks from the Moro arc; they even LOOK like Saiyans, and yet they aren't)
Well, at least there ARE female Saiyans. The only female Majins were in Online!
>>
>>268728354
Remember when everyone just accepted that Goku was the by product of a one night stand and that Fasha was his mom. Ahh good times

Toriyama was a peculiar guy. If he didn't want to do something he just didn't do it no matter what. I don't think he found the idea of a female saiyan all that interesting. (He doesn't like women like that.)

>>268731652
her father is name Gohan with is derived from rice a food with carbohydrates. So Pan is named after bread another food similar to rice
