Any other oldfags feeling fatigued on anime? I mean, the ones that are actually real anime fans, and not the posers that watch 5 shows a year and come here to socialize and post their decades old reaction images. I find it harder and harder to get into new shows. It's the same shit I've seen literally hundreds of times already, but just a little worse each year. I'm even starting to find anime cringe, which is not something I thought would ever happen. We've had these kind of conversations every year, but 2025 is not really the same as 2010 or even 2015. Most of us are in their 30s or 40s now, and 500+ completed anime. A lot over 1000 (I'm at 1500+). Are you still as excited about anime as you were 20 or 10 years ago?

I haven't voted yet because i'm paralyzed in a three way tie between Apocalypse Hotel, Medalist, and CITY. It's a good thing I have like a week to vote. I understand people complaining about modern anime because the market is absolutely flooded with slop but I think that the same amount of good anime is made as in the past it's just that more generic and bad anime is made offsetting it. I'll probably choose completely on a whim a few days before polling closes because all three are genuinely great to me.
