>>285992179I think Ultraman is the more underrated tokusatsu franchise still running.It's the rare case of a kid's franchise doing 24 eps per season instead of a full year because the production values are higher (or at least the post-2010 seasons are like that).Personally though I only watched the first two seasons, I would say the first one (1966, it's not even a 70s show) was downright revolutionary as a superhero show on TV, period.I think Ultraseven (second season) is more interesting, it has higher highs and lower lows, but the highs are great and downright iconic. You can find out references to these shows in all sorts of anime, hell the whole "monsters in capsule" thing of Pokemon actually came from Ultraseven, as well as many monster designs.
