I think a rival character, especially that of a Sasuke archetype whose character arc is that he never fulfills his power potential to be an interesting concept but I don't think this type of story works well with battle autism spectrum JJK where despite the themes of strength not being everything, only the strongest characters matter in the setting. Megumi's theme is more fitting to be on the Seinen genre where at least the audience for that can understand what he is going through. He would still be hated for the same reasons but I say he'll be more of a Shinji Ikari where the opinion on him is just split between liked and disliked rather than being outright hated in the case for how JJK fans see him.
