It's a niché of at least above-average earning rich individuals, often managers of all levels for whom it seems to hit just the right spots. This can be concluded from sales data and the fact that it has like ~10 spin-offs by now which only makes sense with an audience that has an upper ceiling in terms of pure quantity, but who also have a lot of money to turn per person compared to the average series. I mean what other explanation is there for such a huge amount of spin-offs? It's the only way the handling of the franchise makes sense.
