Unironically i can't believe this is not considered a modern shounen classic. The artstyle is goated. The story is good, the action is awesome, the world building is awesome and unique, the characters are awesome. I remember when it started it was considered as having big 3 potential.

I quit around the time angels showed up and were jobbers and from what I've heard it got even worse from there, the fuck happened to the author did they just lose interest or go hard on power levels? I think the last fight I payed attention to was Escanor's "Who decided that?" fest

The 10 commandements are pretty badly managed and Escanor was good but annoying at the same time due to his strength The manga became EXTREMELY bad since the twist of you-know-who, Elvis powerup and final battles (3-4 lol ?). Even the ending was underwhelming

It's not underrated. It might be somewhat unknown in the west but it's hardly irrelevant in Japan. The entire cast is overpowered and could have solved 99% of the Kingdom's (and world's) problems, but they have emotional hangups that prevent them from doing things. This is also why the better received arcs are all about character exploration and basically nobody actually cares about the fights. The fights become good because of the buildup to them, this is why the 10 commandments mostly failed since nobody cared about them, and because Meliodias' and the demon backstory in general is garbage a lot of those fights didn't hit.
