I pretty much currently feel for this the same way I felt about The Promised Neverland adaptation, where I hate where the manga is right now but the start was so great that I'm hoping they adapt the start great. All the threads are “this is so great chuds will hate it” yet I have never seen an organic discussion of this so-called amazing magic system, and some of the panel borders seem ornate, but I have seen nothing “revolutionary” about the paneling, Tezuka back in the 1970’s had some amazing panel layouts, like in the phoenix space escape pod scene with the black panels, but I have seen no example of this so-called amazing panel work in these threads.
It’s almost like some of you people get paid to do this.

The manga was fairly popular here specially in the OPT but the author starting having gay flags on her twitter account after she went to work as an artist for Disney and DC comics which made the manga undiscussable here. Shortly after the quality of the manga sharply decreased although that was coincidental rather than due to the politics thing. The manga is still good overall and it has somewhat improved since that sharp drop but it's nowhere near the writing quality quality that it used to have.
Now keep in mind that when I say writing quality I don't mean like this is one of the best stories ever but rather that the manga had really strong world building and character writing while having an interesting slow moving plot but an overall comfy feel despite the stakes, if I had to compare pre-chapter 63 Witch Hat Atelier with another manga I'd say Kuutei Dragons.

The series looks like another nice comfy healing series from the art, which I presume is a somewhat feminine and shoujo-y one like Ancient Magus Bride or Natsume Yuujinchou, which can be very charming, but isn't for everyone. I'm looking forward to it based on that.

I'm also aware of series (I don't have any JP examples) like Homestuck where the author just became too engrossed in Tumblr and it devolved into 1000 page roleplays on consent in gay relationships, rather than focusing on anything entertaining like the original concept of space exploration and fighting space clowns.
