From what it sounds like though all this MUH WEEKLY begging ended up in these fucking idiots having fewer episodes over a longer time for EVERYONE. They're doing batches in the first place, we probably could've had multiple episodes drop in September at once. But those fucking spammer fags with their MUH WEEKLY and MUH DISCUSSION played themselves and everyone else into waiting LONGER and having FEWER episodes. Fucking faggot retards.

It all started when the adaptation was finally announced and no date estimate was given. There was no fucking way the entirety of SBR was going to be released weekly in one go after it's adaptation announcement without sacrificing quality.

My main gripe with the batch releases was how it completely destroyed the rhythm of the discussion and the hype
Even if it's not as good as the format used up to golden wind, at least it isn't Stone Ocean. The worst that will happen here is that people will be discussing the last episodes of each stage for many months until the next one, and I can tolerate that waiting period.
>>
>>287285798
>They cried and cried for a close release date
More like they cried for any sort of release date. If it was far away, people would bitch about it but suck it up and understand it needs more time in the oven. The release of the first episode got people's hopes up only to crush them.

The issue is that adapting all of it is a big task and David Pro needs investor money to maintain any sort of quality that fans are expecting in this part. Investors need some sort incentive to keep pumping money into production which is why Shitflix and Warner bros are drip feeding episodes to gain subscribers so their quarterly earning reports look good.
>But what about the previous parts? They were weekly!
1 and 2 were a passion project from David pro.
3 was Japan's favorite part so there was confidence in investing in it.
4 had the worst adaptation and so much quality because it's no where near as popular as 3 or 5.
5 was investors chasing fujo money and succeeding.
6 was left to bleed out in the gutter since Japan doesn't give a rats ass about that part.

I genuinely can't believe that actually worked

>>
>>287285357
Well, a "cour" refers to a TV programming block of approximately a quarter of the year, so about 12 episodes. So it should be 12 episodes, break and then another 12.

That is unless Netflix has no idea what "cour" or "split cour" actually mean, and are just throwing out terms.
>>
>>287286029
>kek
Nice way of saying please don't keep sending us death threats.
>>
>>287285262
>We are planning a split‑cour release across the entire run of episodes.
the fuck does that mean?
>>
>>287286492
"Split cour" means that you have a single cour (12-or-so episodes), a season-long break and then another cour. So if you've ever watched a show that aired 12 episodes in winter and then announced 12 more episodes to air in summer, that's a split cour show.

That being said, I have no idea on how Netflix is interpreting the term considering that the first stage is literally a single double-length episode, which cannot be called a "cour" by any stretch.
>>

I would understand if it was some great animation but it's the typical weekly look that consists of mostly slideshow with only character mouth moving and scenes with one character cutout on a gradient background so I don't get how it takes so long, you would think after decades they would come up with some software to help animate shit faster

>>
just think how bad the spam will get when stage 2 ends after 2 eps (they will break up the stage and add an OP/ED), then another massive break. the plan has ALWAYS been "batches", weekly just means stage 1 would be 2 eps, intro to race, then gyro winning the stage for second ep. there is not enough to make 12 eps for stage 2.

They still had to animate around the CGI elements. The first episode does so many things just to make you not notice the CGI

Clearly not enough things.
>>

They might show a third stage trailer right after they adapt chapter 27 and then stop the cour at chapter 32. The ending of the second stage is a nothingburger
>>
>>287287975
Obviously you will notice the CGI if you rewatch the episode and go through it frame-by-frame
>>
>>287287988
What? You can notice it by watching it a single time at 1x speed.

I think you need to get your vision checked.
>>
>>287287876
you could choose to watch it weekly or not. personally I'll watch SBR when it's done. Already read the manga so it's not like I'll get spoiled.

Can't believe Fate/strange Fake is going get dethroned already.
>>
Netflix hates weekly releases just as much as they hate putting their movies in theaters
Can't believe it took Jojo fans to bully them to make it weekly
>>
>>287288155
there is literally no reason to believe stage 2 will be "weekly" and far longer than stage 1, which was 2 eps in length (45 min).
>>
>>287288285
Wasn't Fate a 3 gap before getting 12 episodes after the first 1 hour special?
This seems more manageable if it's 5 episodes then break or 12 episodes that adapts more than one stage
>>
>>287288323
Episode 0 aired in mid-2023.
Episode 1 aired in late 2024.
Episode 2 aired in early 2026. Rest of the episodes were weekly.

2.5 years between episode 0 and regular broadcast. One year and some between first episode and second episode.
>>

>>
>>287288375
stage 2 is about the same amount of chapters as 1. why would they make stage 1 shorter then? at their own pacing, stage 2 will be ~46 minutes.
>>
>>287288380
Well at least davidpro gets a bit more time to touch up scary monsters when ep 2 airs unless Netflix is hoarding episodes like retards like usual
>>
it's only "weekly" or "split-cour" if we are like, actually getting releases
While batch was part of what killed Stone Ocean anime hype IMO a bigger part was the gap between batches and no communication on when we would even get more. I'm sure there are plenty of other people like me who just didn't even fucking bother to keep track when more episodes came out, after all Stone Ocean itself on it's own isn't really that hyped. Hell even not Netflix, I remember Zom 100 and them holding out to the last few episodes to put on the 3 ep season finale on Christmas. Killed my interest and those sat ended up sitting on my HDD for a year before I deleted them unwatched.

They just don't fucking care.
I don't see why they think ANYONE would have been happy with finding out that after only the introduction episode we get left with blue balls for 6 months. The only thing worse than a batch release is getting no episodes at all. If 2nd stage isn't ready then why premature ejaculate all over us thinking this was going to be enough to satisfy anyone?
>>
>netflix raises prices
>worse release pace than Golden Wind
just shoot netflix already.

>>287285262
It's fucking insane how Netflix has handled advertising the cours so terrirbly that they needed to put out a public statement about it
I hope the whole PR team resigns

It's possible Netflix is using 'stage' in a stylistic way to name its cours. It doesn't make sense to release each stage as its own batch. Some would only be 1-2 episodes long. I think we're getting big batches like Stone Ocean and Baki (other Netflix anime).

>Anime Stage 1: Stage 1 (11 chapters) LONG EP
>Anime Stage 2: Stages 2-4 (27 chapters) BATCH 1
>Anime Stage 3: Stages 5-7 (20 chapters) BATCH 2
>Anime Stage 4: Stage 8 (30 chapters) BATCH 3
>Anime Stage 5: Stage 9 (6 chapters) LONG EP

I haven't read the manga in over 10 years, but can someone confirm whether this teaser trailer contains footage from stages 3 and 4? Or is it only stage 2?

Boooo
Absolutely fucking lame

Clearly pandering to faggots that require weekly releases to feel like they have a community. The OVA structure is way better for making sure each stage gets the quality it deserves. I guess now, I can instead look forward to what quality there is taking an absolute fucking nose dive because some asshole wants his "JOJO FRIDAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!" so fucking bad
>>
>>287288785
Yeah, they haven't really at any point said that they're airing the stages separately.
>>
>>287288785
The trailer only shows the first half of Stage 2.
>>
>>287288815
If David Production cannot make quality episodes after having all this fucking time, they can't do them at all. It's already been a year since SBR was announced, so the pre-production time would've been even longer. And by the time 2nd Stage starts airing, it'll have been 1.5 years since announcement.
>>
>7 fucking months for another 46 minutes
fuck netflix. this will take FOREVER to finish.

I fucking hate anime-onlies so fucking much. What a bunch of absolute fuckwits. Manga chapters been out for decades? People still discuss that shit because it's fucking cool and they love it. They wanna experience the hype of enjoying it together? They do daily and volume dump threads where shit is properly spoiler-tagged so new and old alike can come together and enjoy the good shit.

Oh but anime? Ooooo but if you don't artificially drag out the releases over the course of multiple weeks, then the hype, bro? The discussion, bro? It'll end immediately!!!! There's no legs without the weekly hype, bro!!!!! The discussion can't live unless it's driven by the hype, bro!!! This series that has been discussed since before a lot of posters were even born is suddenly gonna be impossible to talk about and be hyped about if it's not releasing weekly!!!!! Bro!!!!!!!
>>
>>287288938
Jap freelance animators don't care about SBR. They had to hire a mexican zoomer for pivotal key animation
>>
>>287288851
Hopefully this is just a big misunderstanding. Netflix usually releases batches with multiple episodes. With batches now being aired weekly then the fan outrage was a good thing. I wouldn't mind weekly releases of 3 big batches

>>287288853
That's a bit worrying. Allah willing, the official trailer will show stage 3-4 content
>>
>>287288815
the quality is gonna stay the same whether or not it's batch or weekly because Netflix needs to hand over the 12 episodes at once to multiple dubbing studios
