I wish more people would be adventurous and try to watch new shit over what’s being shilled in the mainstream. Needy Girl Overdose has been the best anime I’ve seen in years since it’s actually feels like a late night 00s anime with experimental animation and adventurous direction. Is it the most popular? No, but that makes it more appealing to me.

The 2000's was before the rot of corruption had fully enraptured technology and every bureaucrat.
If you have seen LotGH or know history beyond pop culture tidbits, you know that no system is immune to corruption given time. Sooner or later people realize that it isn't about the system we follow, but the character of people in charge of that system.
If people start worshipping a process of creation rather than having a functional end result or following the science to get an expected outcome then you cannot get miracles that come from actual vision and hard work because any soul is gatekept by bureaucrats who do both things

I wouldn't say that. More that some seasons have a lot to see and others I have zero interest in. I am watching nothing this season but there are a ton of shows next season that look interesting. If you want to see dire visit /co/ and you realize that despite faults, /a/ has it a lot better. /co/ is a barren desert with constant droughts and /a/ is just a normal temperate climate where sometimes things are good and sometimes things are bad

It felt like torture porn to me so I didn't want to watch more than episode 1. I watched puniru after and it felt like it touched on similar themes of innocence and stuff but, even though it was a kid show, it did it with way more maturity and restraint. Especially the end of S2

to me this happened with videogames though. I can't remember a single videogame I finished in the last 5 years. When(rarely) I try to start one, I play for a couple of hours, tell myself that I'll continue it eventually and then never touch it again.

Im 36 and have watched anime basically every day since I was 7. Idk how you can "just stop liking" something so varied. I genuinely fear ill die before ever watching everything I want to.

Idk I don't really watch anime anymore. Used to watch nothing but it from 10 to 18 years old. Now I mostly just read manga.
