Despicable human garbage.
>>288801731I find it funny how most authors self-insert with their protagonist.
>400+ chapters>speed
>>288801693>>288801731Isn't the guy married?
90% comedy10% ntr fantasies the perfect mix
>>288801693I don't think the interview brings up anything new. When Reiji talks about heroines he doesn't even mention Mini: while it seems like a recent interview it could've been something that was put together when the anime first came out and there wouldn't be a difference. >hur dur Reiji confirmed Kazuya is his self-insert even this isn't exactly new, clickbait, not even worth the read
>>288805195He's using it as a theme and playing with the modern audience's expectations. "Why aren't they dating already, kissing, and having sex?" Love doesn't come as easy as renting for it, so people are subverted that he hasn't made her his girlfriend after spending so much time together.
>>288805221never seen this, but that sounds like my kind of program
>>288801731so he admits to having cuck fantasies? shocker
>>28880522190% comedy10% Raging that the faggot MC isn't balls deep in the thirsty love interest.
>>288805195>if you pay, you can have it>because this job actually existsReading behind the lines confirms what I always knew. He's only in it for the paycheck. He knows as long as he keeps dishing out this worthless drivel Kodansha will keep writing him checks. He won't let it stop, or resolve anything, or send it in a direction that risk ending the cash stream. You keep paying him and he'll keep giving you this empty imitation of a romance manga.
>>288806118what are intrusive thoughts
>>288801731and this surprises... absolutely nobody
>>288805307>>hur dur Reiji confirmed Kazuya is his self-insertReiji stated multiple times he sees himself in all the characters, with Kazuya being the closest and that he thinks Kazuya is a much better person than himself It's nothing new as you said
>>288805195>>Speed>>Hey! Let's treat comedic romance like fucking "fast food." "McDates," if you willYep. GARBAGE.>>288806461That's textbook "being an industry plant." This shit will continue on, no matter how low the ratings from the Japanese are and no matter what new unfunny, unromantic so-called "romcom" challenges it.Shit's like a staple, now. Like Dragonball, sadly.
>>288806797And who planted him in the industry thenDo you even know what the word industry plant means you dumb fuck
>>288806834Drake is an "industry plant."WHO THE FUCK has a premature-ejaculating cuck for a shounen lead of a romcom, not give him any real pussy to fuck for 400+ chapters / 5 seasons; and not have the franchise get SOCKED IN ITS MOTHER FUCKING FACE because of that shit?!Who gets the blame? The author himself? The editors? The people who allowed his work to exist? The wife for not beating his ass?The child for not disowning him?4chan for sucking his dick (and not threatening to destroy his home for the shit he's been pulling)?
>>288806782yeah, but I've been seeing people linking the interview and stating it as something profound. In general I find it fascinating how mythologized this series gets, for absolutely no reason. It's a run-of-the-mill romcom, nothing too great, nothing too terrible, nothing political, nothing controversial, but somehow everybody whether they read it or not knows how this is the worst manga ever and how the author is crazy and in love with his waifu and cucked the MC.
>>288807114Probably because of its notorious length, other romcoms at this point were already done and dusted while kanokari doesn't even have its end in sightIn fact progress is so muddled that we can't even tell where things really stand
>>288807114Nigga as someone who kept reading this manga until dropping it mid-Hawaii (and coming back for chapter 218), I can list all the reasons why it sucks ass and should've been axed ages ago.- revolting MC with no redeeming qualities, he makes ugly faces, his personality sucks, his life choices are terrible, his relationships with other people are unhealthy- autistic FeMC who likes MC romantically but stubbornly refuses to give in, choosing to hide behind an ice queen façade instead- supporting cast full of unlikable characters, the worst offender being MC's bitch grandma (only two characters are decent people and one of them has died)- antagonist who took 200 chapters to finally do something- background mobs who keep glazing FeMC and other girls whenever they show up in public (admittedly Reiji has played it for laughs once with Sumi and it was actually funny)- major arcs keep getting longer while having less happen in them
>>288807114Chapter 218 went viral, many people latched onto it for attention and the manga reputation remained (people act as of it was always hated, when it's not the case). What's even more incredible is that there are authors pulling way weirder shit than Reiji
>>288807353>authors pulling way weirder shit than ReijiExamples?
>>288807332>it sucks assSure, it does suck, it sucks as much as any other romcom that overstayed its welcome, but somehow this one gets memed to hell and back and not for example Hajimete no gal for the travesty of chapter 200. My point really is that what usually happens is people drop the series and it slowly looses relevancy, but not kanokari it somehow gets brought back from the dead just to be a meme again and I don't even mean the couple of people here who still read it, weebs in general seem to recognize the series and immediately now it's garbage.
>>288807462>Examples?Hajimete no gal chapter 200.Katekin (as a whole really) it's always fun knowing it exists after how people glazed Insomniacs After School.
>>288805221>and then suddenly you notice you're cryingcrying of cringe, maybe
>>288807462Fujimoto acting like his own imaginary little sister on Twitter
>>288807487Reiji is a master at the carrot and stick approach (Tatsu from Dandadan is a worthy successor though)You know the saying "The opposite of love is not hate, but Indifference"? People love hating on Kanokari, but they can't help squirming with happiness when something good on it happens (even if they deny it), which is not the case for most other romcoms out there.
