This anime literally made me say "fuck it, I'm gonna finally learn how to draw" and pick up a pencil at 34 years old because I adore Shirow's style. Unfortunately, I'm exactly the kind of person with zero natural talent for it, can't even draw a straight line from the first attempt. Spent a better part of this weekend trying to draw lines, simple shapes, eyes, trying to memorize patterns in GITS, Appleseed and others by pausing the anime and looking at Intron Depot 1. This stuff is actually incredibly fun, I think I've finally found something I can learn from and actually stick with it. This stuff is crazy hard for me though, even picrelated took me a couple of hours and several attempts and this is just bad first time doodles.
