I started watching this because of Jebus

I was thinking about 2000's anime the other day and I find it weird that late 00's to early 2010's let's say (2006 to 2012) anime fandom is like the weird bastard forgotten step child of anime fandom. Like a lot of the online culture is kinda gone besides this place and few other things but you can find stuff around early 00's to 80's fandom lot easier also doesn't help like most of the YouTube stuff becit reviewers, parodies or AMVs got like deleted or disappeared like most every anime Youtuber who existed before like Gigguk faggot ass after Mr.Anime killed his family just dipped or whatever. I wonder why that era of anime fandom is so forgotten even the shows are but it was a weird transition from traditional ways of watching anime and online ways, I don't really see people talk about most the titles. That era of anime mainly just remembered as a few moe shows and some memes no one cares about now. Why do you guys think that time got more forgotten than 80's to early 00's? Lack of stuff for normies on TV? Not the early days that created almost everything?

>that late 00's to early 2010's let's say (2006 to 2012) anime fandom is like the weird bastard forgotten step child of anime fandom.
How? The Haruhi singing episode is among the most popular anime videos on youtube(besides shonen amv) and gurren lagann, soul eater and madoka are all over the youtube and 00s forums.
>>
>>289712089
The most normalfag friendly anime, Fmab, comes from that era and /a/‘s activity +culture was at its best during that era so I disagree.
>>
>>289711880
I finished rewatching Dokuro-chan and Ergo Proxy again a few days ago, Pino is still so cute.
>>
>>289712151
But which one is your favorite?
>>
>>289712163
Yeah but you don't really see discussions about those shows now and you rarely see people recommend them like you do 90's shit anon. I don't see most those shows looked at in same light like Cowboy Bebop or FLCL, no one cares about shit like Durarara or Darker Than Black that way.

Uta is one of my favorite anime of all time.
Comfy, mysterious, fluffy girls, nation building, cool older MC, etc etc.

It is weird a lot of that era internet stuff isn't as archive as some of the early stuff, you can find really old anime sites on Wiby still up while most the late 00's shit is just gone.
>>
>>289712239
>don't see most those shows looked at in same light like Cowboy Bebop or FLCL,
Madoka is still really popular, maybe even more popular than FlCL.
>shit like Durarara or Darker Than Black that way.
Maybe not those 2 in particular but Kaiji, Death note, Hellsing, Wellcome to NHK, Bakemonogatari, Panty and stocking, Baccano still have a lot of fans and get recommended .
>>
>>289712336
I can partly agree but I still feel like lot of that era of anime is just kinda forgotten about, I guess just because normies haven't really grab on to the "aesthetics" like the have cel era shit which makes them feel less relevant in the massive online space vs the more niche spaces we use to have.
>>
>>289712413
>I can partly agree but I still feel like lot of that era of anime is just kinda forgotten about,
I don't know if that is true but I wish it was desu. I don't want too much unwanted attention.
>>289712288
I guess we still have the /a/ archives.
>>
>>289712413
normie bloggers on instagram have already fully caught up to 2000s era anime. You are just in the wrong places. Its basically the free money hack for content creators rn.

Reminded me I use to watch some guy on Blip.TV who did a show called Anime For Dummies like in 2009 or whatever but his opening line was "Welcome to Anime For Dummies were we talk about good anime, bad anime and anime so popular you just want to see it die." I wonder what shows would fall into the last part for people back then.
>>
>>289712691
Eva, Haruhi, Lucky Star One Piece, Naruto, Bleach
>>
>>289712742
True, kek I found the dude.

Likely not all his videos, I remember he did one on Tenchi and shit. This type of anime fan doesn't even really exist now.
>>
>>289712613
You mean they read through their wiki summaries lol
>>
>>289712870
no they show their fancy artbooks for which they paid good money probably and read some ai script glorifying the aesthetics
>>

SOVL. There probably still are people like him but they stopped caring about making youtube videos considering how shit it has became. Yeah I know blip.tv is not youtube but that is dead as well.

But we do not have 06 haruhi era. That was when I started looking for anime online. It makes me sad. I know I'm not the oldest fan. But the 2006 era of anime fandom had a charm the modern fandom doesn't have. Yeah, I've talked to guys from the 80s who were trading macross tapes that view me the same way I view say post streaming era fans. But it was absolutely different in 2006

Even though they've always been shit places you can check some of the gamefaqs or mal archives if you wan to see the consensus around different anime around that time

Only up to 2011. I hate it. I don't think I will ever forget the 06-07 era users like 4bn3r, dplay23, taleran, mjcool, otaku_anime, mochan etc etc etc

Yeah, I loved OT back in the 00s, but it really went to shit when the clique calling themselves "the hierarchy" started shitposting all over the place. Pokedude screeching and whining about spoilers even if they were tagged and the mods making a special rule catering to his bullshit was the final nail in the coffin.
>>
>>289713626
I never quite liked Gamefaq for anime discussion(maybe because I prefer the image board format to the classic forum one)

Kaleido Star was their best. That isn't nostalgia talking either. I watched it recently, no I'm not that big of a newfag I watched Gankutsuou in 2007

I really, really hate the way this era in anime got co-opted by retard teenagers. It drives me insane to see newfags pretend that Ergo Proxy is a good anime. I still love my favorites from this time and I enjoy watching shows I missed, but threads about it are often full of posters who obviously got here last week.

You can say that about every era of anime and about all of the media boards on 4chan really. Just ignore them and discuss what you want to discuss.

First of all, punctuation.

Second of all- culture is always changing, and online culture changes much quicker than irl culture. I wouldn't say the late 00s-early 10s fandom culture is forgotten- /a/ is basically stuck in that era. But the way people talk online has altered a lot because you cannot just call someone a faggot or a homo even in Twitter nowadays, or say be a reasonable liberal (against racism and sexism but against trans rights and everything attached). And while the way people talk has evolved their values underneath are still the same, just phrased more politely with a schtickle of misinformation or chudatude and a wojak or whatever attached.

Unless of course you are alluding to battle harems being superior to isekai, because then you can fuck right off with both of those genres; they are both equally shit.
>>
>>289714964
A lot of great anime from this era get 0 discussion so that's a sacrifice I am willing to make if it can change that.

Idk if anyone remembers but was there an ecchi anime(or a hentai) about some inventor girl making robots that would lead to sexy scenes. Does anyone remember it?
