What happened to Sci-Fi anime?I feel like anime creators used to take the "Science" part of "Science-Fiction" a lot more seriously. Even series with more fantastical elements like Outlaw Star still had relatively grounded themes with regards to space flight, politics, and economics.Mouretsu Uchuu Kaizoku, even though the general premise is silly, still treated the Uchuu part with respect.These days, it feels almost everything labeled as "Sci-Fi" are really just Space Opera/Fantasy.
