I'm still not quite sure what the people who really liked it enjoyed about it, I had some fun in the first 1/3 of it but it gradually became less interesting with a couple cool ideas here and there and once it focuses more on a main storyline it gets noticeably weaker IMO. It did at least stay looking good IIRC without having animation quality take such jarring nosedives so it has that going for it
