No other season would try something as absurd as that triple date episode. It made the group more cohesive rather than just a trio and a duo. It's not the worst thing in the world, but SD's team dynamic is mostly just 2 duos with a little bit of effort to let Anna interact with both Kurea and Luluka. It would feel a lot better if Mikuru interacted more with those two, but what little focus is spent on Mikuru is mostly just her being concerned that she's not an adequate partner for Anna.
