I'd much rather take this than every game with shitty art, 2-3 branching paths at most per game, terrible writing, etc. that was the common denom for so long.My current following list is like 30, and that's with plenty of stuff to still check out, new games coming out, backlog of new stuff, etc. We're in a good spot, people knew to the genre don't really know how good they have it.

The dev explicitly wanted to tell a story that was about an apocalyptic event that happened to result in the MC being the only male around and having to collect/protect his harem. And to your second point, I guess I can understand from a utilitarian standpoint not wanting to spend time rendering/drawing non-LI characters, but like at that point you could just not write scenes with other dudes in them or whatever. I'm specifically referring to games where it is an explicit plot point that other men just don't exist or aren't around at all, but not because that's the premise of the game, just as a way to autistically reassure the player that they won't see any other men.
