I've tried mentioning at family renuions that I'm looking for a job (not in a woe is me way but just answering when they ask if I've got a job yet). They always just laugh and say "Stick in there anon. You'll get a job eventually. Have you tried looking into (insert job title here)? I hear they pay well."
