I'm in my late 30's and need to do better then McFactory jobs. Should go to community college I guess, but what can I do to actually get a desk job and not just end up back in a factory making a few more dollars then before?

Or should I just accept it and learn to run the C&C machines?

College is a scam
Employment is a joke
Make your own business
learn how to get people to give you money for as little as possible

College is not a scam, but employment is by and large a joke and starting your own business is the only way to earn "real" money

What do you need to start a business? What defines a "business?"

Business, for most intents and purposes, means one of two things
>Have idle money to gamble on businesses you don't own
>Have an aggressive enough personality to scam people into investing in a marketable idea

There is yet another way, the hardest, riskiest, most punishing way, which you probably wouldn't even be able to do, that is, in a series of steps:
>Realize the necessity for a service
>Get the knowhow of how to operate that service to Every detail
>Know the law requirements to set up the enterprise
>Know the armaments of law to defend against bad faith clients, suppliers and employees
>Have the finance and tributary knowhow to watch the efficiency of operations
>Have the knowledge to design and set up the technological tools you will be using
>Since you don't have enough life or supporters to learn everything on your own, master one of the above, aside from operations, to shill your idea to people who actually got a chance in their lives to set up a business.

Start with your factory. You already have some expertise in the industry, just from your working experience. Now, what do the people who work in the office know that you don't? It may have to do with management skills, or the theory and principles of your industry, or simply things like typing or bookkeeping. Combine what you already know with what the people in the office know, and move up.
>>
>just start a business
it's impossible to do so without connections, experience, and at least 3x the budget to let you go through the trial and errors process

>What do you need to start a business?
Interpersonal skills in communication and a basic understanding of finance.
>What defines a "business?"
A business is a source of generative income.
(it makes money)

>how do I start one?
Firstly you need to understand what profit is. Profit is the difference between total cost and total value. How much you spend over how much someone is willing to give you. In order to gain profit you must create more value than cost. Example:
>Jeff is deciding on buying a coffee shop or selling coffee out of his van.
>The shop is on an expensive corner and the business owner is unwilling to provide their profit margins (how much they make).
Your expenses include, employees, rent, supplies, utilities, etc. In order to maintain profit you have to make more money then it costs to run the place. Without experience a more developed business it tough to run. You'd be better off letting someone with experience from the shop take command while you check in quarterly to ensure the business is still in the green (making money).
>The van is a lot on you personally. It requires all of your time and effort. But it has extremely low costs.
You stand to make a substantial amount of money if you can bring the same amount of clientele as the coffee shop. Since your cost to operate is much smaller you end up with a higher profit margin. You can also invest in someone else's business idea (granted you trust them, they have a clear business model with proven margins and they have experience)

>you have to go through the trial and errors process
If you want business experience, buy and sell bottled water on the weekends. The cost is one case of water and a cooler (the starting cost being $100) the profit if you sell a case of 32 at $5 per bottle would be $60 the first case and $140 on the next case assuming the reoccurring cost of a 32 pack of water bottles and a bag of ice cost $20. If your in a cold area buy and sell cheap hot drinks.

The demand for trades is high as everyone has gone of and got a degree in something retarded. Electricians, carpenters etc are making pretty damn good money these days.
>>
>>34975347
Ask your heart and not 4chan doofus, how the hell would we know the answer to that?

I would take the fastest route to making more money, which seems to be getting trained up at your current job. Once you are there and have a little more resource at your disposal try and start a side business.
